Rush Limbaugh Claims Obama’s Blackness Will Save Him From Impeachment
On his radio show, Rush Limbaugh told Republicans that they are wasting their time chasing Obama scandals, because America will not tolerate the removal of the first black president.

LIMBAUGH: Well, look, let me tackle this. I’ve seen all these — they’re almost predictable. “Don’t overplay it. Don’t act happy Obama’s in trouble. Don’t do it. Don’t gloat. Don’t laugh. Don’t look like you’re enjoying this. Don’t convey that you’re happy Obama’s in trouble, because all it’s gonna do is make the Republicans look like all they care about is getting Obama.” Folks, we are so far beyond any of that. In the first place, Obama isn’t in any trouble. I don’t know how else to say this. Obama’s not in any jeopardy whatsoever.
Folks, let me tell you something. I’m just gonna launch here. I’ll do this with as much restraint as possible. But in my humble thinking, the people of this country, if it came to this, are simply not going to tolerate the first black president being removed from office. And if that’s not gonna happen, all the rest of this is academic. The people of this country are not gonna tolerate the first African-American attorney general being removed from office. They’re just not gonna put up with it, and they’re not gonna sit by while it happens, no matter what.
Limbaugh was offering a twist on the tired Republican claim that Obama got elected president because he was a novelty. The big hole in this theory has always been that it doesn’t explain how Barack Obama was reelected to the presidency, but don’t look for logic in right wing attempts to delegitimize Obama.
Rush Limbaugh was correct about one thing. President Obama isn’t in trouble.
Do you want to know why Obama isn’t in trouble? He hasn’t done anything wrong. That’s the part that the right can’t wrap their heads around. They can run around screaming about Benghazi, the IRS, and the AP all day long. They can talk about impeachment. But when asked to provide evidence to back up their allegations of conspiracies and cover ups, they offer nothing.
They keep repeating the same worn out gibberish about how they just know that Obama is up to no good. The constitution is pretty clear on the fact that a president can’t be impeached based on feelings of up to no good. Republicans need evidence, and they don’t have any. The reason why none of these scandals have caught on with the broader public is that they lack both smoke and fire.
Limbaugh was trying to give Republicans an out. The claim that these scandals haven’t gone anywhere because Obama is the first black president is another psychological crutch that the right will use to justify their failure. It appeals to their racism to think that Obama would be removed from office if he wasn’t black.
The reality that Obama won’t be removed from office because he has done nothing wrong in invisible to Republicans, because in their eyes Barack Obama will always be guilty of being president while black.
Since they can’t impeach him for that, they are going to continue to dream up phony scandals until this president leaves office.

Correct. DWB, BPWB, (Driving While Black, Being President While Black) – it’s all the same in our very messy society, thanks in large part to the current group of Republican fools.
I believe the Republican Party of this era will go down in history as being some of the worst obstructionists our country has ever seen. That they cannot, have not, and will not accept the President’s legitimacy is highly detrimental to all of us. They are playing with Americans’ lives, and we will not forgive them for their folly.
But, unfortunately, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of their ridiculousness, and no one can really know where it will end.

Our younger generations (the millennial’s/pre 40-year old’s)…are all looking at what the GOP have done to our FIRST Black President and they’re shocked. They see the obstruction against Obama’s every idea for improving America…and they won’t be voting for the GOP anytime in the future.
Why the GOP is self-destructing? Guess they need to lose one more Presidential election before they really get their act-together!
Yet, how do you learn empathy and concern for the least among us…when they’re being told they must always enrich the richest among us?

Yes, Sugapea, it’s in large part about our children’s generation and their unwillingness to accept extremist right wing views. Many of us have raised them to believe in empathy, the golden rule, etc., which, as you point out, is not a part of the Republicans’ platform.
I don’t wish to see the end of the Republican Party, as we need at least a two- party system. I DO want to see the end of this group of unthinking obstructionists….it is up to us to vote them all out in 2014.

If I thought the President of the United States committed an act that rose to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors – for instance, if he lied about intelligence that pointed to some country or other having WMDs and being in on 9/11 and that info turned out to not just be untrue but was actually fabricated at the highest level of government – I’d be in line calling for his impeachment.
But NOTHING the President has done rises to that level. In fact, it doesn’t even come close.
And it has nothing to do with him being black. It has to do with the fact that I’m not insane like the fright wing is.

Wait!!! Limbaugh is playing the race card. I thought some conservatives/republicans say that it’s only liberals who play the race card. Call me shocked! Not really. I expect to hear right-wingers repeat this lie from now on. It’s just too difficult for some of them to admit that Pres. Obama doesn’t fit the stereotype of a black man that resides in their brains. Pres. Obama is the type of man my dad was—black, smart, hardworking, loved my mom and us. My dad built us two houses to live in, never cheated on my mom, brought his money home, never laid a finger on my mom in anger, etc. Just because some republicans/conservatives haven’t allowed themselves to see men like my dad and the president doesn’t mean they don’t exist. In fact, many of my friends and associates are members of nuclear families in which the black males share the same characteristics the president shares with my dearly departed, and still very much loved, dad.

Majii, I also grew up in a middle class black family. No one in our family was on government assistance. Everyone was hardworking. Growing up all my parents friends, worked, owned homes and lived good lives. For some reason Limp and his minions think all black families are like the family in Good Times instead of the Huxtables. My Dad worked two jobs at times when I grew up so we could go to Catholic schools. A right winger actually asked me one time how it was living in the projects. I had to restrain myself and tell him not all black people lived in the projects only a small portion do while there are more white people who live in projects they just don’t show them on tv. But this is today’s reich wing party. Racist, ignorant and soon (hopefully) to die off and become extinct. Rump is not gaining new viewers nor is Fox their listeners are dying off and turning off.

Gee, I thought Republicans believed in due process. There is Rush already saying Obama should be impeached, but won’t be, because he is black.
Rush convicted him with no evidence that their were any high crimes and misdemeanors. So much for belief in the Constitution by Rush.

Note to the future: If large groups of angry college students gather to protest a dumb war because they’re tired of the constant fighting and death, be careful how you deal with them, because if you don’t, the reactionaries will capitalize on “the agitators” for forty or fifty years because that’s what they do: react. Honestly. When Mao said that “reactionary movements are a paper tiger” he wasn’t kidding was he? Black and white, black and white, black and white.

Our system is set up so no one branch can dominate the other.Usually it works because in the past even the party out of power compromised for the good of the country.Its not enough space to go into any detail about how we are in our current situation.Some would say white backlash because they have to share power that started when women got the right to vote then exploded over civil rights but to me while that may be some truth to that I place the blame on the theocrats who have taken over one party.The business part of the republicans always kept them under wraps but when Clinton came to power that was the start of the problems we have today
The United States IMO is two different countries.One rural,white and belief in an America where white male christians ruled.Blacks and women knew their place and all was well even though it never was.
Two The other America,the America that always embraced change urban cosmopolitan ,though thats a recent thing always looking and asking why not better.Those two things are whats the fight is about now.I believe that you have to change to grow and IMO the other side wants to dig in to a nyth that never was but its real to them and they will fight to the death to keep it.

Lets see, Limbaugh or Howard Stern? Hmmm, both are bottom feeders. Both have been in trouble of losing their shows for slander and content because they have nothing truthful to talk about. People like Rush Limbaugh is why the USA is in the crapper in all fields and also the reason people hate. He thinks he is better than most people, when he is far worse than any I have seen or heard.

The “culture of intimidation” belong squarely on the TEA-Republicans for consistent combativeness and corrupt coercion on legislation not going any where. They tried for the 37th time to kill the PPACA Health Care Act which will go nowhere and Romney cried on the late show that he really wished he had been president to fix these issues. Brush Himoff should launch himself off the highest cliff onto jagged rocks and rid us of his fat sickening mouth! Obama is n’t in trouble in any way as all that is being stoked is concocted by TEA-Republicans to stem their actions on the real issues like immigration reform, sequestration, the debt ceiling and jobs for Americans. Anyone with half a mind could deduct shenanigans abound in these exchanges. The 2014 Mid-term is a-coming!

J–In Great Britain, hospitals decided to change the acronyms regarding a potential death in the hospitals because the patients had been watching television enough to know what “code blue” means. When a patient is in danger of death, now hospitals in Great Britain use the term CTD in room X to alert emergency workers to the situation.

A few years ago I was trying to tell a republican that limbaugh is a racist! and of course the flood gates of utter BS came a flowing from them! This republican actually said ”limbaugh isn’t a racist because his producer is BLACK!, what do you say to someone this incredibly STUPID? Lets see, using that logic a serial rapist can’t be a rapist if he’s married and loves his wife!! Republicans as I’ve stated over and over on this site are typically very dim witted individuals! that’s why they follow nonsense so easily!
