Pima Sheriffs Investigate Death Threats Senator Yee Received from Palin Fans
State Senator Yee (D-CA) was contacted by Pima, Arizona Sheriffs who are investigating the massacre in Arizona. The sheriffs felt the faxed death threats Senator Yee received from Palin fans last year were similar to faxes in the Arizona massacre case. Senator Yee received the threatening faxes (along with phone calls) after he requested information regarding Palin’s speaking fees. We reported on the death threats against Senator Yee last April, which included faxes that read (note: due to offensive language some words have been *):
“An expletive-laden fax received yesterday in the Senator’s San Francisco and Sacramento offices says, “To: JoBama Rectum Sniffer Fish Head Leland Yee” and then in all capital letters, “WERE YOU TO EXTRACT YOUR HEAD FROM TREASONOUS MARXIST NIG**R HUSSEIN OBAMA’S RECTUM, YOUR BRAIN WOULD STILL FUNCTION AT ITS PRESENT MUCH DIMINISHED LEVEL BUT AT LEAST THE NIG**R SH*T SMELL WOULD EVENTUALLY DISSIPATE.””
The fax, which included a graphic of an American flag adorned pickup truck dragging a noose, also states “FIGHTING The Marxist Nig**r Thug Hussein Obama” and “Safeguard the Constitution, Death of all Domestic Marxists!”
ABC Local reports:
“A staffer for Democratic State Senator Leland Yee says he was contacted by a detective from the Pima County sheriff’s department in Arizona earlier this week.
The detective wanted to know about the death threats the state senator received last spring, after he tried to uncover the perks that Sarah Palin was receiving for speaking at a Cal State Stanislaus fundraiser.
The CHP is investigating those threats, and says even though there are some similarities to the threatening notes found in the Tucson case, it doesn’t believe the two are connected.”
The political climate is changing and the police obviously see a pattern in right wing violence, though they are not finding a connection between these specific threats and the Arizona massacre. They are clearly looking at something specific in the California case. It will be interesting to discover what prompted a connection of the Arizona investigation to the Palin fans’ death threats against Senator Yee last April.
Update: The Mercury News reported: “(The Arizona detective) said, ‘In our situation we’re seeing very similar faxes and wanted to follow up on the status of your investigation,’ ” Keigwin said Thursday.
Keigwin gave the detective information about the Palin-Yee conflict and eventually the Arizona police official ended up on the phone with California Highway Patrol investigators. The CHP’s Capitol Protection Section has since taken over the Yee threats…
It’s unknown whether any of the same people behind the Yee threats could have been connected to the messages sent before the Giffords shooting. No suspects have been identified in the recent threats against Yee. ”

I wonder why so much is coming out of this county? I remember the incident and that talk about the number of threats that the senator was getting. I will not blame Sarah Palen for these threats but I would ask if she was aware of them and that they were coming from her followers. You have to admit, they are creative. It is obvious that this type of stuff is supported by the Palen fans because there was no outcry against what was being said

She never condemned it and this wasn’t the first time by far, so I think it nothing else is shows a lack of leadership on her behalf and a deliberate avoidance of a growing problem that she was aware of.

I think maybe she encouraged these reactions.While she isn’t a very intelligent woman she has enough going to realize what the reactions amongst her following were.She is a right wing gun nut and that is a lot of her base and she panders to that.Even that is hypocrital also because if you’ve watched her “reality” show you can see she knows nothing of guns.She wants other people to do her dirty work and she has been successful.I hope there is enough of a connection that somebody can sue her and take every dime of her misbegotten money.

Yes they were coming from her bots who were furious that Sen Yee was demanding the details of her contract “bendy straws & lear jets” & all! Sarah Jones had previously reported on this.
I am VERY interested how & why they came to call Sen. Yee b/c they KNOW he was harassed by Palinbots!
I believe its ONLY a matter of time before the link is revealed!

We must remember the Pima County investigators and the FBI investigators have all kind of information, including a computer, from the assassin. They are following leads and no-telling what is going to turn up in this investigation – so many have determined without facts or evidence that JLL was “apolitical” because Faux Noise has reported they talked to two former High School ex-girlfriends of JLL. None of that is evidence of anything – one said he had changed completely since high school. These investigations are going to shed some light on a lot of things that people are not expecting. I am interested in the friend who said the answers are in JLL’s dream book.
Investigations take longer than 5 days – who knows where this going to lead?

Palin has, in fact, endorsed the use of the N word, as when, after Dr. Laura transmitted her notorious “N-word” broadcast, Palin told her “Don’t retreat; reload.” Palin’s comment was unambiguous. She told Dr. Laura not to retreat from, and to reload with, the N word. Her followers of course take that as meaning it is legitimate for them to use the N word also.

Palin’s supporters never fail to reveal their racism, xenophobia, and paranoia. Senator Yee was threatened because he dared to question the exorbitant fees Mrs. Palin was demanding for her fact-free, asinine screechfest at Stanislaus. It will be interesting to find a link, if any. It’s another example of how everything the Quitter Queen touches turns to crap.

Thank you for that link – one of the ironies of the rightwingnutterygallery is that they are screaming for POTUS to denounce the left as the radicals – they seem to have amnesia about the past 30 MONTHS of hate and vitriol spewed by the vile Snowbilly Grifter and the Faux Noise echo chamber along with Hate Radio, towards the duly elected President of the United States of America. Gosh, 30 months seems like a million ridiculous insults and threats ago.

Many people in the media and blogs commented that Sarah Palin seemed very angry in her infamous “blood libel” video, but I saw a lot of fear in Palin behind that anger. I think it’s beginning to sink into her reptilian brain that the accounting of her rhetoric and behavior over the last two and a half years has only begun — and it’s going to be expensive.
With great power comes great rewards and responsibility. So far, Palin has reveled in the rewards, but ignored the responsibility. Time’s up, Sarah.

Dont you all think the Pima investigators suspect a connection. Otherwise why would they be investigating? Something from their current investigation prompted them to talk to Yees office. I bet there is a lot that we don’t know yet. Even if the shooter wasn’t ” political” he didn’t live in a vacuum. Do we really know yet what he watched on TV?
Even before Sarah Palin, this anti-government hate speech always has bothered me.
And it has to have subliminal effects on many in different ways. I have found it especially disturbing since I moved to Arizona. I lived in liberal.cities before here and I never heard people cutting down the government. Now I hear it everywhere even in casual conversations. I have had several doctors even slam the government. It’s been quite an experience living here. I didn’t even know anyone with a gun before I moved here and I never heard the I hate liberal talk before. My point is that wow, people here have grown up constantly hearing this stuff and they don’t even question it!!!
How can this climate not have any effect at all on the shooter, even if he is mentally ill!!

It sounds like you live in an area in Arizona that is similar to the area I live in in GA. It seems that the anti-government and anti-liberal talk is a part of the landscape, and most people either accept it or are too afraid to swim against the tide if they don’t. It really has a negative impact on the free speech rights of liberals and others who don’t buy into this type of thinking, and having a lot of armed citizens doesn’t help the situation.

I do think Pima County must be something of a red flag now.
November 2010, James Patock, 66, of Pima County was arrested on the National Mall in the District of Columbia. Law enforcement officials found four guns, several boxes of ammunition, and propane tanks wired to four car batteries in his truck and trailer.
Despite this, Tucson is not considered a heavily conservative area in AZ–that would be Phoenix. Perhaps Pima is just becoming known for nuts.

I think perhaps the old adage that says where theres smoke there’s fire is always something to think about.
I originally come from Michigan, 30 miles from the home of the infamous McNichols Brothers of the Oklahoma bombing fame. As you know Michigan is primarily a state that leans towards the Democrats. The area they lived in was one of an old farming community. Who ever would’ve suspected that the Michigan militia was in the center of the thumb of Michigan?

I recall when her ‘followers’ contacted the judge in Alaska who was handling the custody case of Bristol’s. It was necessary for the judge to hire security for safety.

There are also Palinbots who call the well-documented and unflattering facts about Palin “lies.” There are none as blind as those who refuse to see the truth, or as deaf as those who refuse to hear it. Many of them ask for links to back up these facts, and then they reject them. I am not surprised that one of them posted this sheriff’s phone number, because they are showing that they’re willing to sink to just about any depth to protect their empress, who every sane human knows has no clothes.
