The Smirking Sociopath: Romney Finds Sick Joy in Using Libya to Attack Obama
Throughout the course of world history, there have been empires which evoked visions of greatness based on an idea more than geographical location or military might. One might think of ancient Babylon, the Roman Empire, or the British Commonwealth as ideals of greatness and power, and in a short span of time, America took its place as an archetype reminiscent of Rome in its heyday. However, the “idea” of America as a shining city on a hill came to a screeching halt when the Supreme Court appointed George W. Bush president in 2000, and within two years, most of the civilized world viewed Americans as warmongers demanding obeisance, instead of commanding respect.
When Americans elected Barack Obama as President, the country regained some of its stature as an ideal, and it was not because of his race, but his vision of a country measured by its unity, tolerance, compassion and leadership that was not based on military might. After the past couple of months, Americans, and the world, are reminded that there are still men intent on demanding respect for their bluster, disregard for humanity, and quick-draw mentality that George W. Bush personified. When Willard Romney put political expediency ahead of sound judgment and thoughtful regard for America’s position in the world, he reminded Americans, and the world, that this country is one election away from revisiting its place as a bully that earned scorn, disrespect, and suspicion from the entire world.
When Willard Romney stood before the press and criticized the President after four Americans in Libya were killed, he exuded the Ugly American prototype George W. Bush perfected on the way to earning America a reputation as a bully. The smirk on his face revealed his belief that in the pursuit of political expediency, even blatant disregard for slain Americans was worth appealing to a sick segment of society clamoring to hear him demean an African American President. It is impossible to know what shaped Romney into an arrogant man lusting for wealth and power, but there is reason to believe it is a combination of being born into wealth, his religion, and an innate disconnect from humanity.
Most Americans have interacted with someone whose arrogance is borne out the size of their portfolio, and Romney certainly fits into that category, but it does not explain his racial insensitivity, disregard for those less fortunate than himself, and inability to admit he may have made a mistake in judgment. Instead of convening the press to tell them he jumped the gun and misspoke before learning all the facts about the death of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans, he doubled-down and stuck firm to his statement from the night before. Apparently, in the Mormon cult, humility is not a requirement to enter the temple, and honesty is frowned upon if it does not advance the church’s agenda.
Over the past few months, Romney has unrepentantly offended nearly every demographic that is not wealthy and white, and he appears to take great pleasure demeaning people. Many pundits asked how he would lead the entire country when he has alienated most of America, but they fail to understand that leading the country is not his intent; running it is, and running it like he ran Bain Capital. In fact, lying and exploiting tragedy is what successful vulture capitalists do, so no-one should be surprised that Willard’s first impulse is scoring political points from the deaths in Libya, because he will go to any length in the pursuit of power and money.
Many pundits said Romney embarrassed and disgraced this country and that may be true, but he does not represent America or its people any more than Rush Limbaugh or Sarah Palin typify average Americans. Americans are basically good people, and the polar opposite of men like Willard who has demonstrated time and time again that he is not a good person or a good American. He represents the worst of America and if he wins the White House in November, it portends another dangerous era for the entire world.
It is possible that Romney is so driven to win in November, that he will do or say anything regardless how it affects America or its standing in the world, and the people should be terrified at what lengths he is willing to go to be president. In his attempt to pander to neo-conservatives, he made provocative statements about Russia as the nation’s number one geopolitical foe, and his antagonistic rhetoric against Iran portends a return to Bush cowboy diplomacy and more war, death, and crushing debt.
Most of all, the glee on Romney’s face while he made a fool of himself defines a man without a conscience and that should frighten Americans more than anything. Any man that takes pleasure exploiting a tragedy for political expediency would have no qualms needlessly sending Americans to their death in a war, or destroying Medicare and Social Security if he thought it was to his benefit. What Romney did was disgraceful, but it was nothing new and a stark reminder that as exceptional as America is, there will always be shameless men like Romney who take advantage of a tragic situation like George W. Bush did after the terror attacks on 9/11. Romney was doing what he does best, and there is little doubt it will be the last time, because for whatever reason, he was smirking like a teenager who just pulled off a nasty prank. To think that he found any joy in an attack that killed four Americans is proof that he is a sociopath and not worthy of leading a country that will never be exceptional until the likes of Willard Romney are rooted out, sent offshore to count money, laugh at tragedies, and disgrace themselves because an un-American cannot disgrace America.

Controversial Anti-Obama Billboard Now On Bumper Stickers, T-Shirts..
A North Texas billboard that garnered national attention for its election message, is expanding from the side of local highway, to highways across the nation. It’s moved off the board to bumper stickers, and even t-shirts, after reports about the ad spread across the internet.
“There was a guy called from Tennessee, one from San Diego, one from Oklahoma,” said Tom Schad, the Gainesville man who originally paid for the ad along I-35.
The sign, inspired by an email, shows two camouflaged, armed men, and references the Navy Seals removal of a threat to America. It then tells viewers to remove another threat in November.
“I’m amazed,” Schad said. “It started out there was no reaction. Then all a sudden it evidently got on Facebook. It got on the Internet. Then it was everywhere. It went viral.”

You should try checking out an official poll, a.k.a., ‘reality check.’ Sounds like you need one badly.

Obama and Biden Offends Muslims with OBL Bragging?
Vice President Joe Biden has a suggested slogan for the Obama/Biden 2012 campaign. He repeats it everywhere he goes. “Osama Bin Laden is dead,” he bellows, “and General Motors is alive!” What an idiot!
There’s only one problem. He’s wrong! Yes, Bin Laden’s dead, thank God, but as for GM, it’s not so much alive as it is a member of the corporate living dead, feasting on taxpayer brains while slowly deteriorating, the first zombie company created by Obama’s cronyism.
If we’re so concerned about hurting the feelings of Muslims, why is Obama and Biden bragging that he killed Osama so often.
They’re ramming it down the throats of Islamists all over the world. In fact, in Egypt at the embassy yesterday, the protesters were all shouting, “We’re all Osamas, Obama. We’re all Osamas, Obama.” There are millions of Osamas, Obama. So we might even conclude, ladies and gentlemen, that if we’re gonna accept this notion that hurt feelings inspire terrorism, then maybe Obama and Biden are responsible for this, and ultimately maybe the blame falls to him. You think they watched the Democrat convention in Egypt? You think they saw Plugs Biden up there going on and on about how Osama’s dead? This could be the Obama bounce. The media was looking for the Obama bounce, and they found it, the attack on our embassy in Cairo. The real Obama bounce.

a) OBL is dead. Yep. No doubt about it.
b) GM alive and well and posting record profits – probably oughta check before posting BS.
c) Give you 3 guesses who millions of Muslims hate more….
That reality thing? Really frosting your cake, ain’t it? *snort* Get a life. Or run back to FOX now, your panties are smoking.

The ultimate sentence regarding exceptionalism strikes home; this fall’s election really has become a final referendum on Americans’ character, and if the vote for this sitting president isn’t sufficient to overwhelm all the attempts to queer the result then we deserve the whirlwind which will inevitably follow.

I agree completely. He was so quick to insert himself to try to score political points, he failed to get the facts first. There were only a few true believers willing to stand by him after his remarks hit everyone the wrong way. Peggy Noonan comparing his grimace and demeanor to Nixon during his hastily thrown together briefing was priceless!

That was exactly my impression: his vocal inflections, eyerolls, and gestures were all reflective of Nixon when the Watergate Scandal started up, even before that *smile* appeared. At first, also, his mouth had the curiously prissy compression of someone who is consciously suppressing just such a smirk, and then he couldn’t, any more.
He means neither to govern, lead, nor even *run* this country. The word the PNAC cadre uses is *rule*.

yes, yes and YES again. My computer has a mind of its own today, and every time I try to comment the comment flies away. One more time.
I’ve always felt that Milt “Corporations ARE people, my friend…” is one of the least compassionate people I’ve seen run for public office, and let’s not forget the folk he has gathered around him, his “Slytherin” cohort. (Doesn’t Florida’s Governor Rick Scott look EXACTLY like Voldemort?)
I truly am afraid of them, and I am not the only one. I do farmers’ markets on the weekend, and I met this lovely moderate couple visiting the Bay Area on their 45th anniversary, both Republicans. The woman said she had never voted for a Democrat IN HER LIFE, EVER, but “this batch is crazy, and we can’t let this happen.”
They both talked about fear and the helplessness they were starting to feel, along with the rest of us. It’s a national phenomenon — I hope.
Both Mitt and his charming, lovely spouse fairly glisten with the sort of entitlement (“you people”) that comes with a rich, preppy upbringing, mansions everywhere, a slick way out of the draft, no knowledge of the horrors of war, etc.
Nobody with a pure heart could want to throw more lives into the charnel pit of fiery horror, death, degradation of spirit and life, or the fear and utter helplessness of young lives, women and children lost in the middle of perpetual warfare — could they? Unless, perhaps, they hadn’t experienced “the horror! the horror!” (Apocalypse Now) of war.
Many past Presidents had no military experience. But Mitt shows a strong desire to throw more American lives and treasure into the hole of WAR (“what is it good for? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!). For God’s sake, WHY?
I agree that there are circumstances where it is appropriate; but we have been sowing the seeds of violence wherever we go for a long time, and now we are reaping what we’ve sown. Anyone really, truly surprised?
We have a clear choice before us in November;…

I have heard Romney bragging so many times that he won’t ever apologize, I would dearly love someone to ask him if the mormons are ready to apologize for the Mountain Meadow massacre.
Actually i DID APOLOGIZE, NOT FOR aMERICA BUT FO9R SENDING THIS BUFOON TO THE uk OLYMPICS.

Willard Romney is one scary individual. The fact that he was not only so willing to exploit an American tragedy for political points, but doubled and tripled down on his lies with that stupid smirk, shows he is indeed a power-hungry sociopath. He and Lyin’ Ryan have a short-sighted, jingoistic view of this country and its role in the world. They would bring back GW’s policies, and they would be magnified. He is a smirking, lying buffoon with no social consciousness or moral core whatsoever.
