On Fox News Watch today, Fox contributor Jim Pinkerton upped the ante and personally attacked Jon Stewart as a demagogue. Pinkerton compared Stewart to Lonesome Rhodes by saying, “Five words A Face In The Crowd, the 1950’s movie starring Andy Griffith…about a talk show host who then thought he was a political and a demagogue.”

On Jon Stewart Bill Clinton Calls Out the Tea Party

In an interview with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show last night former President Bill Clinton explained and broke down the true purpose of the Tea Party. Clinton said that Tea Partiers are pawns in a game and, “The people that are funding this Tea Party are trying to weaken the government… so that they can have unaccountable private power.”

Jon Stewart Is More Accurate than Fox News on Anchor Babies

After taking a brief break from race baiting due to being slapped down by Shirley Sherrod, Fox News has moved on to an easier target, babies, specifically the so called anchor babies. Fox News ratcheted up the rhetoric today by referring to the 14th Amendment as the, “anchor baby amendment.” Lucky for us, Jon Stewart has taken on the lunacy of the right wing anchor baby campaign.

Glenn Beck Claims that He Boosts Jon Stewart’s Ratings

On his radio show today, Glenn Beck displayed how much fame has gone to his head, while name dropping some celebrities and the fact that he was at the Time 100 Most Influential People banquet last night, Beck said, “It’s like Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart’s not thinking yeah get that guy off the air. I’m good for him and his ratings.” Beck keeps selling himself on the idea that the ship isn’t sinking.

Jon Stewart Demolishes Glenn Beck’s Attacks on Progressivism and Social Justice

On last night’s The Daily Show, complete with a full Beckesque set, and a dead on impression, Jon Stewart mocked Glenn Beck’s recent attacks on progressivism as a cancer. Stewart said, “I looked approvingly at child labor laws, inspections of meat and poultry and other food stuffs, women voting. I thought it was progress…America I have cancer, we in this country have cancer, value and document eating cancer.”

As dramatic as Lou Dobbs’ immediate resignation was on CNN last night, the whole story of the deteriorated Dobbs/CNN relationship is starting to emerge today. Dobbs was told by CNN to do an objective newscast, or he could leave CNN. In short Dobbs could either clean up his act or hit the road. He chose to leave.

The Obama Administration Continues to Challenge Fox News

David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel hit the Sunday talk show circuit and continued to redefine Fox News as a political organization. Axelrod said that FNC isn’t really a news organization, and that they are pushing a point of view. Emanuel said that the network is so much a news organization, but a perspective. The White House is not going pretend that FNC is fair and balanced.

CNN Refuses to Air Anti Lou Dobbs Ad

CNN announced today that they will not air an ad urging the network to drop controversial anchor Lou Dobbs during their much hyped “Latino in America” series next week. The ad urges CNN’s viewers to tell the network to, “drop the hate, drop Lou Dobbs.” It had been reported that CNN would air the ad, but this afternoon the network said it won’t.

Rick Sanchez Rips Fox News for Coaching 9/12 Protesters

CNN’s Rick Sanchez has really sunk his teeth into Fox News’ role in the 9/12 protest in Washington, DC. Sanchez took FNC to task for a producer that encouraged the crowd to cheer during one of their live reports. Sanchez said, “Real news organizations are not supposed to stage events. Nor should they promote news events. Nor should they hype news events.”

CNN’s Rick Sanchez Blasts the Lies of Fox News

On CNN today Rick Sanchez blasted Fox News today for running a full page ad in some of the biggest newspapers in the country that claimed that the other news networks did not cover 9/12 protests. Sanchez broke out the tape to show CNN covering the protest. Sanchez also pointed out the picture in the ad belonged to CNN. Sanchez even pointed out that Bill O’Reilly showed CNN’s coverage.

Former president Bill Clinton returned to Comedy Central’s The Daily Show last night, and he had some interesting comments and insights about the current healthcare reform debate. Clinton expressed optimism that a healthcare reform would be passed this year. He said, “I have always believed from the night of the election, he would pass healthcare.”

GOP Strategist Debunks Latest Palin Death Panel Claim

On CNN today GOP strategist Karen Hanretty debunked Sarah Palin’s latest claim about a death panel provision in the healthcare bill. She said, “Obviously, there is nothing in the bill that says death panel. I think that is some heated rhetoric.” Hanretty is now one of the few Republicans to go on TV and tell the truth about the death panel claim.

CNN’s Lou Dobbs Calls MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow a Lunatic

After MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow mocked CNN’s Lou Dobbs for calling her the, “tea bagger queen” yesterday on her show, Dobbs fired back today on his show. He referred to Maddow as, “a lunatic among the lily livered, limp minded, lefty lemmings.” Dobbs, who has “questions” about Obama’s citizenship, thinks Maddow is mentally unstable. That’s a laugh.

Southern Poverty Law Center Calls for CNN’s Lou Dobbs to be taken off the Air

The president of the Southern Poverty Law Center, J. Richard Cohen wrote a letter to CNN president Jonathon Klein calling for Lou Dobbs to be taken of the air for spreading racist conspiracy theories about Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Cohen wrote, “Respectable news organizations should not employ reporters willing to peddle racist conspiracy theories and false propaganda.”

Washington Post’s Milbank Calls Nico Pitney a Dick on CNN

After the Huffington Post’s Nico Pitney and The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank engaged in a heated debate about Pitney’s question from an Iranian at President Obama’s recent press conference. According to Pitney when the segment concluded Milbank turned to him and said, “You’re such a dick.” The controversy isn’t about the question, but that a blogger got “the moment” of a news conference.
