A weekly roundup of the Republican Wing Nut Circus, this week featuring the Ohio GOP telling women to get back to the kitchen, Sarah Palin blaming a hacked email account for losing the election in 2008, Rush Limbaugh claiming that Obama is going to repeal presidential term limits, and of course Rachel Maddow on Sue Lowden’s plan to barter chickens for health care.
The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan was on the syndicated Chris Matthews Show today, and he said that the Beck, Palin, Limbaugh and Fox News are calling the government illegitimate, and are committing sedition. Sullivan said, “This is about the moment when America’s divides go right up to calling the government, not wrong, but illegitimate.” Let’s examine the law and see if the right wing is behaving seditiously.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh labeled all union government employees whether they are Democrats or Republicans freeloaders, leftists, and socialists. Limbaugh said, “This is incredible, unheard of a bunch of leftist, socialists, neo- communist union people asking their brothers in government to raise taxes,” but Rush, what about all of the Republicans that are employed by the public sector?
Former President Bill Clinton was on ABC’s This Week this morning, where he took on the right wing media for its role in spreading threats and violence. Clinton said, “We can disagree with them. We can harshly criticize them. But when we turn them into an object of demonization, you know, you — you increase the number of threats.”
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh blamed the volcanic eruption in Iceland on the passage of health care reform in the United States. While talking about Obama’s claims that health care reform has not brought about Armageddon, Limbaugh said, “I think the Earth may have opened up. God may have replied.” God is punishing Europe for the health care bill in America.
CNN’s Anderson Cooper joined Rush Limbaugh’s enemies list last night when on his program he dared to compare Obama’s efforts on reducing nuclear weapons to Ronald Reagan’s. Limbaugh said that nobody watches Anderson Cooper because he doesn’t get that, “Reagan’s name is being taken in vain here.” Reagan has now been officially deified and Republicans are worshiping a false God.
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh backed out of his promise to leave the country and move to Costa Rica if health care reform passed. Limbaugh said that he never said that he was going to move there but that, “Once all this gets implemented, I am going there for my health care.” Apparently, Limbaugh’s trip to Costa Rica will happen at the same time Sean Hannity gets waterboarded.
The right wing media has come up with a new twist on an old scare tactic, as they are now citing an opinion column on ESPNoutdoors.com to claim that President Obama is going to ban fishing. According to them, Obama is now not only going to take away your guns, but also your rod and reel. The problem is that there are no facts to back up this ridiculous claim, but that hasn’t stopped Rush Limbaugh and others from putting it out there.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh kept it classy by going on the attack against the decreased Ted Kennedy. Limbaugh took offense at Karl Rove saying that he was impressed with Kennedy, and showed his displeasure by saying, “You and I look at Ted Kennedy. He’s a buffoon, a dangerous buffoon.” Rush must have been having some sort of drug induced flashback, because he kept speaking about Kennedy in the present tense.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh jumped in to defend Sen. Jim Bunning’s blocking of an extension of unemployment benefits to 1.1 million jobless Americans. Limbaugh referred to Bunning as, “a hero to people here.” Limbaugh argued that Bunning’s treatment of the unemployed will actually win the Republicans more support. Perhaps, Rush has never heard of Herbert Hoover?
In case anybody forgot, Rush Limbaugh reminded his audience that the President of the United States is in fact black. Today on his radio show, Limbaugh accused Obama of using the black dialect while addressing the National Governors Association today at the White House. Limbaugh said, “Obama can turn on that black dialect and turn it off.”
A state of panic and denial has gripped the Republican Party, as they now fear that the economy might recover, before they get the chance to exploit it for electoral gain. A prime example of this is Rush Limbaugh, who on his radio show today, congratulated George W. Bush for any economic growth that will occur during the Obama administration.
In an interview on Fox News, noted scholar and college dropout, Rush Limbaugh claimed that President Obama did not do his own work in law school, while hinting at race, “I think this is the first time in his life that there’s not a professor around to turn his C into an A or to write the law review article for him he can’t write.”

He said, “There are endless and countless examples of subtle and not so subtle efforts by this White House to recruit and organize Americans.”
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh managed to revise the history of the 2008 presidential election to claim that the Democratic primary, not the general election, was full of, “racism and bigotry, and debating if Obama was authentic.” Limbaugh is obviously confusing the Democratic primary with the general election.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh proclaimed that he too is one of America’s 47 million uninsured, and that he is providing leadership by demonstrating how cheap healthcare really is. Limbaugh said, ” If you can afford a pretty expansive media room, you can afford what I spent in the hospital.”
On his MSNBC program Hardball today, host Chris Matthews took a minute to take a shot at Rush Limbaugh, who recently proclaimed that the healthcare system is fine. He also tried to explain the issue to him. Matthews described the issue as, “getting for millions of people who don’t have it, something like the healthcare Rush gets.”
While leaving a Hawaii hospital that he was admitted to for chest pains, Rush Limbaugh used himself as an example of why the health care system does not need reformed. Limbaugh said that the healthcare system works, “just fine and dandy,” but the Hawaii system is the model for the Democratic reform plan, and the hospital is unionized. Limbaugh has cluelessly endorsed socialized medicine and unionization.
You can call it a teaser for Countdown’s whack job of the year special, but if anyone needed a recap of the wild year that Sarah Palin had, the program delivered it tonight. The one thing you’ll probably notice about Palin’s year is that she quit her job, fought with the media, sold books, and did nothing productive in 2009.
On his MSNBC program Countdown, host Keith Olbermann delivered a special comment about the compromise healthcare reform bill. Olbermann said, “The Senate bill with mandate must be defeated, if not in the Senate then in the House.” If the bill passes, Olbermann called on his viewers to not buy insurance.
On his MSNBC program Countdown host Keith Olbermann got on the subject of liberal media bias while discussing Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly’s outrage at being mentioned on Law and Order: SVU. Olbermann said, “There is no liberal media. The media which is after all owned by corporations naturally leans to the right.”
During one of his Obama is delusional rants on his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh let his racism slip out again. This time his target was Indians. Limbaugh said, “I don’t know if he really believes it, but if he does, we in heap big doo doo, a little Indian lingo there.”This comes from the same guy who once said that Indians should stop complaining, because they have casinos.
Tonight on the Best Persons segment of MSNBC program Countdown host Keith Olbermann took a little time to compliment the American people for not buying tickets to Glenn Beck’s half live half movie performance of his book The Christmas Sweater. Olbermann pointed out that only 64 people combined bought tickets in New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
Google has compiled a list of the most searched terms in various categories for 2009, and at the top of the list for U.S. senators is the late Ted Kennedy. The only Republican to appear on the top 10 list is Chuck Grassley at number nine. On any list, Rush Limbaugh, not Glenn Beck, was the highest ranking conservative.

Gone are the days of smoky newsrooms and journalists that are committed to facts. They have been replaced by 24 hour cable news networks and right wing infotainers, who give partial treatment to GOP talking points and illogical rhetoric. The result of this is that journalism being undermined by right wing media bias.
While doing the Worst Persons segment on his MSNBC show Countdown tonight host Keith Olbermann took aim at Glenn Beck for his comparison of healthcare reform to 9/11. Obermann said, “In short, Glenn, 9/12ers if you are invoking 9/11 just to oppose healthcare reform, go to hell.” Check out the video.
In an interesting blog post today, Harvard Business professor, and Obama voter Bill George argued that MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann is hurting America. George said, “Olbermann cheapens discourse. He touts easy solutions. He speaks in truculent soundbites. His invective is hurting America!” This leads to the question are progressives sick of Olbermann?
On Monday the White House hosted an off the record chat with President Obama which MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, along with Eugene Robinson, PBS’ Gwen Ifill, and Gloria Borger of CNN were all present, but Fox News was not invited. This led FNC to compare Obama to Nixon and cry about being shut out.

In his special comment tonight, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann hammered Sarah Palin for her death panel statement. He said, “Madam, you are a clear and present danger to the safety and security of this nation,” and suggested that she should not be allowed to hold any position of responsibility or trust at any level of government.
On his radio show today Lou Dobbs kept up the attack on MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann by claiming that Olbermann attacked his family. He called Olbermann a “psychotic punk,” who happened to have parlayed an act into a gig on MSNBC. He also accused MSNBC parent company General Electric of working for the Democratic National Committee.
Tonight on his FNC show The O’Reilly Factor host Bill O’Reilly weighed in on the feud between Keith Olbermann and Lou Dobbs. O’Reilly ignored Dobbs’ attacks on Olbermann, while claiming that NBC and Olbermann were attacking Lou Dobbs’ family. Bill-O managed to weave this all into his vast NBC conspiracy theory too. In a startling bit of racism, Manuel Miranda, a former aide to Republican Sen. Bill Frist told conservative bloggers that, “We aren’t like African Americans. We think like everyone else.” This begs the question, for Mr. Miranda how do African Americans think differently from everyone else? I’d love an explanation.

Today, in response to a caller asking about the “slippery slope of gay marriage,” Glenn Beck claimed that gay marriage laws would result in incest, because siblings would be allowed to get married as long as they got fixed, and didn’t have children because they would make mutants.
Comedian Wanda Sykes performed at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner, and while she did a great job poking fun at the Obama’s some her best material was reserved for Sean Hannity and his offer to be waterboarded for charity. Check out the video.
