However his best material was reserved for the birthers and Sarah Palin. The attorney for Sarah Palin, Thomas Van Flein took to her Facebook page last night to gloat about another Alaska ethics complaint being dismissed, when he compared Palin to George Washington, “voluntary relinquishment of power for the greater good is normally praised as an example of true leadership, just review any biography of George Washington.”

The fact is that the emails released from Palin’s personal email accounts contradict her testimony, and Sarah Palin is caught in yet another lie.

The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan was on the syndicated Chris Matthews Show today, and he said that the Beck, Palin, Limbaugh and Fox News are calling the government illegitimate, and are committing sedition. Sullivan said, “This is about the moment when America’s divides go right up to calling the government, not wrong, but illegitimate.” Let’s examine the law and see if the right wing is behaving seditiously.
While testifying in court today, Sarah Palin came up with a brand new excuse for the losing the 2008 election to Barack Obama. Palin stated under oath that the hacking of her email account cost her and that guy John McCain the election. She said, “I don’t think an illegal action like this is a prank. Not when you consider how impacting it was on a presidential election. It went beyond a prank.”
Scott Brown (R-MA) appeared on NBC-TV’s “Today” show this morning. Brown made his break with the Tea Party final by announcing he would support Mitt Romney over Tea Party darling Sarah Palin, dashing the hopes of many Tea Partiers who had fantasies of a Palin/Brown ticket in 2012. The support of the Tea Party and Sarah Palin’s endorsement are assumed to be responsible for getting Brown his seat in the special election in January of this year.
Vice President Joe Biden was on “The View” this morning. Elizabeth Hasslebeck asked Biden if he thought Palin posed a threat for 2012. Biden didn’t seem too worried about Palin as a contender, but he did say, “I say this and people look at me like I’m kidding, I like her,” which is politico speak for she can’t win.
It kinda looks like she quit to line her pockets. So, I guess it wasn’t all about “progressin’ Alaska”. But ya’ know, money isn’t everything. A girl’s gotta have values, also too. And helpin’ us understand HRH’s “common sense conservative values” is her contract with the California State University, Stanislaus Foundation, where Palin is scheduled to “speak” at a June 25 gala hosted by the foundation to mark the university’s 50th anniversary.
You probably guessed by now that there’s more to this story, as hypocrisy, cover-ups and scandal are just par for the course for the Conservative darling.
One of the most interesting little tidbits in the latest CNN/Opinion Dynamics poll is that Barack Obama is not the most popular politician in the United States currently. Make no mistake, Obama is still popular with a 57% favorable rating, and he is still much more popular than any Republican in the country, but it is Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, not Obama, who has the highest favorability rating in the poll at 61%.
How much longer is the myth that Sarah Palin is the GOP’s messiah going to persist? More evidence was delivered against her when then Southern Republican Leadership Conference chose to support both Mitt Romney and Ron Paul over Sarah the Savior. Palin even showed up for this gathering and spoke to the crowd, but still failed to look like anything more than the reality TV train wreck that she is.
It’s hard to keep up with the Republicans these days. They’re a regular three-ring circus being lead around by leaders like Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck — two out of three of whom we know didn’t finish college. We haven’t seen Palin’s degree from the 5th or 6th college she attended, but recklessly, we are taking her word that she graduated. Personally, I’m still waiting to see her high school diploma, but that’s just me. At any rate, with leaders like this, it’s no wonder that the Republicans are going up in flames.

Throughout my life I’ve never hated someone’s message so much that I wanted to shut him or her down by force. My liberal parents taught me that those folks had a right to freedom of speech. Freedom of speech. This is our right as American citizens. Part of my job as a citizen is to tolerate ideas with which I do not agree, so long as they do not infringe on the rights and safety of others. This is a concept that Republicans no longer understand.

LL’s real motivation was not his concern about inspiration, but the idea that people were going to be fooling into watching an old clipped interview hosted by Palin.
During her speech at the Tea Party Express rally in Searchlight, NV today, Fox News employee Sarah Palin blamed the media for her target list and her violent rhetoric. Palin said, “It’s a bunch of bunk what the media is trying to feed you. Don’t let them distract you from the debate.” Media criticisms aren’t nearly effective when they come from someone who makes their living on cable news.
As Sarah Palin basks in both the cash of and the love from the Tea Party, a new Washington Post poll reveals that her political popularity among the nation as a whole has never been lower. Conservative Republicans give her a 71% approval rating and tea partiers put her at 60%, but the nation as a whole gives her only a 37% approval rating, and a 55% disapproval rating.
On the day after the House passage of health care reform, denial is running rampant through the right wing. Sarah Palin took to her Facebook page today to continue to lie about health care reform. She said, “It was supposed to make health care more affordable, but our premiums will continue to go up. It was supposed to help more people get coverage, but there will still be 23 million uninsured people by 2019.” Of course, none of this is true.
Everyone’s favorite quitter, Sarah Palin was on FNC’s Hannity tonight where she called the centuries old deem and pass legislative technique. Palin said, “The process that Pelosi is pushing right now is unconstitutional.” She then lied and said this bill would not have been passed by both houses of Congress. The problem is that the bill will, in fact, be identical. Once again, Palin mangled the Constitution, and the legislative process.
While Sarah Palin was off in Calgary delivering a speech for, presumably American dollars, she told the story about how as a youngster her family used to grow across the border to Canada for some of that socialized medical care. She didn’t bash the Canadian medical system. She played to the audience with her Canadian connection, proving once again that her political positions are malleable depending on who is signing the check.
Sarah Palin continues to try to explain away why she had to write her answers to the questions at last month’s Tea Party gathering in Nashville. Palin’s latest attempt occurred at a right to life fundraiser in Ohio last night. She said, “If what was good enough for God, scribbling on the palm of his hand, it’s good enough for me, for us.” Palin has now been reduced to invoking God to explain away her ineptitude.
Sarah Palin’s publisher HarperCollins announced today that Fox News contributor, and unabashed media whore, Sarah Palin will be writing a second book. The follow up to her best seller Going Rogue will focus on, “a celebration of American virtues and strengths.” The book doesn’t have a title yet, so may I suggest Going Rogue 2: The Quest for Cash?

Palin has a long history of tossing her biggest supporters under the Palin Bus, making sure to leave their reputation in tatters as the bus rolls over them in its relentlessly ambitious journey to her self-described God-mandated “destiny†as President.

Sarah Palin raked in around 2 million dollars as the of the end of the fiscal year reporting for SarahPAC shows, but instead of helping the cause, Palin is helping herself to the tune of one million dollars for paying for her private jet charter, billboard faux bus tour, expensive suites, while donating only $65,000 to candidates.

On his radio show today Glenn Beck revealed that Sarah Palin was so paranoid that he would embarrass her on the air that she spent her time prepping for the interview by Googling NYC landmarks and facts about the Statue of Liberty in case Beck quizzed her.

While Palin has refused to allow any media to ask her questions on her “book” tour, and now she’s laid down the new law and is not even allowing her fellow Alaskans inside the venue where she held her last book signing in Alaska. She had the local bloggers/media identified by pictures, and on a “Banned” list, enforced by local police.

On FNC’s America’s Newsroom today, reporter Greg Palkot was delivering a report on how the recent winter weather in Europe is causing travel problems, when he added, “A pre winter storm like Europe hasn’t seen in years, forget about all that global warming talk.” According to Fox, snow in winter is now evidence against global warming.
On Friday’s O’Reilly Factor guest host Laura Ingrham was running through the conservative reaction to Obama’s Nobel speech, which most conservatives praised, except for Sarah Palin who tried to take credit for the speech by saying, “I thumbed through my book this morning to say wow, that really sounded familiar.”
The book Sarah From Alaska by Scott Conroy, and Shushannah Walshe, who were both embedded with Sarah Palin’s vice presidential campaign, manages to accomplish the seemingly impossible. It offers an objective account of Sarah Palin’s fast rise and abrupt resignation. There is lots here for both Palin’s fans and critics.

On his FNC show yesterday Neil Cavuto launched into a defense of Fox News’ 2009 election coverage. Cavuto said, “We are not red. We are not blue. We are all about green…your money.” However, this does not explain why Fox News has done 16 segments over the past two weeks with candidates Chris Christie, Bob McConnell, and Doug Hoffman.
Senior adviser to President Obama, David Axelrod was on CBS News’ Face The Nation today, and he not only took on Rush Limbaugh, but he also denied that the White House is at war with Fox News. Axelrod said, “We’re at war only with people who represent mistruths as truth.”
In an interesting blog post today, Harvard Business professor, and Obama voter Bill George argued that MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann is hurting America. George said, “Olbermann cheapens discourse. He touts easy solutions. He speaks in truculent soundbites. His invective is hurting America!” This leads to the question are progressives sick of Olbermann?
Levi Johnston was on CBS’ The Early Show today, and Sarah Palin’s problem that won’t go away, made an ominous claim. Johnston said, “I have things that can, you know — that would get her in trouble, and could hurt her. Will hurt her. But I’m not gonna go that far.”
Here is an amusing moment from yesterday’s Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing. Sen. Claire McCaskill was talking about Glenn Beck’s rant about czars, when she referred to him as, “he who shall not be named,” which was a reference to Voldemort from Harry Potter. If Beck is Voldemort, then I guess Obama is Harry Potter.
The former Bush’s Brain, Karl Rove was on Fox News Sunday today where defended Fox News and compared Obama to Richard Nixon. He also claimed that the president is demeaning the presidency by keeping an enemies list, and picking out enemies in the media.
Don Imus was on Fox News today hyping his new Fox Business show, and as he and Neil Cavuto were discussing Sarah Palin Imus said, “She should have had enough sense to know she wasn’t ready for primetime…to sit down and not be able to get through an interview with that little rodent over at CBS, Katie Couric is absurd.”
President Obama’s critics often complain that he is overexposed and on television too much, but the ratings disagree. The latest example of this was the president’s Monday night appearance on David Letterman’s The Late Show. Obama delivered Letterman his highest ratings in four years and over 7 million total viewers. It seems that Americans still like to watch this president.
On CNN today Rick Sanchez blasted Fox News today for running a full page ad in some of the biggest newspapers in the country that claimed that the other news networks did not cover 9/12 protests. Sanchez broke out the tape to show CNN covering the protest. Sanchez also pointed out the picture in the ad belonged to CNN. Sanchez even pointed out that Bill O’Reilly showed CNN’s coverage.
In response to Glenn Beck telling his Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski to shut the hell up yesterday, Joe Scarborough did something he has been itching to do for a while. He opened up on Beck. Scarborough said, “Suddenly the Glenn Beck that nobody watched six months ago is now the Glenn Beck who he thinks is an international superstar.”
Last night President Obama called death panels a lie in his joint speech to Congress. Obama also promised to call out anyone who spreads lies about healthcare reform. This led Sarah Palin to not only continue to stand by her death panels claim, but also promise that she will call out Obama on death panels, but there aren’t any death panels, so this should be interesting to say the least.
In an interview with World Net Daily, Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann claimed that Democrats are sabotaging both her and Sarah Palin because they want to see a Democratic woman become president first. Bachmann said, “So they’re doing everything they can to, I think, sabotage women like Sarah Palin.”
Levi Johnston keeps dropping bombs on Sarah Palin as in the new Vanity Fair piece where he claim wanted to secretly adopt, her teenage daughter’s baby, “Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it a secret—nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant. At a town hall protest in San Diego over the weekend a town hall protester tried to say that healthcare reform is unconstitutional, but it didn’t quite come out that way. He said, “I got a book here called the U.S.S. Constitution.” Ahoy, matey, the U.S.S. Constitution may not give the government authority to reform healthcare, but the U.S. Constitution does.

I believe that Dick Cheney is a rapidly metastasizing cancer upon the body politic. President Obama has been very gracious — perhaps too gracious regarding the matter of that old Dick. Mr. Cheney is unrepentant regarding the issues of torture and wars of choice, and utterly convinced of the rightness of his actions. He thinks Mr. Obama is weak, effete, an “elite”. At the bottom of his heart there is only fear.

The never ending war of words between former Sec. of State Colin Powell and talk show host Rush Limbaugh escalated today to include Obama Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Powell said of Limbaugh’s claims of reverse racism that it was, “nonsense.”Powell said that the GOP has a race problem.
The bizarre story of Sarah Palin’s resignation continues to grow as MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell is reporting that people close to Sarah Palin have told her that Palin is completely fed up with politics, and is leaving political life for good. If you believe that Sarah Palin is really going to leave national politics for good, I have a bridge to sell you.
MSNBC’s slogan is “The Place for Politics,” but since the death of Michael Jackson it has become the place for mundane, endless coverage of Michael Jackson. While doing his Worst Person in the World segment on his MSNBC show tonight, Countdown host Keith Olbermann named Rush Limbaugh one of the worst persons in the world for describing the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision in the Ricci case as a 9-0 decision. Olbermann called Limbaugh, “a big bag of mashed up jackass.”Check out the video.
Gov. Haley Barbour (R-MS), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Mitt Romney all appeared on Sunday morning talk shows, and all said that disgraced South Carolina governor should not resign. The Republicans all claimed that Sanford has a personal problem, and completely ignored the fact that Sanford abandoned his post as governor.
After the Huffington Post’s Nico Pitney and The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank engaged in a heated debate about Pitney’s question from an Iranian at President Obama’s recent press conference. According to Pitney when the segment concluded Milbank turned to him and said, “You’re such a dick.” The controversy isn’t about the question, but that a blogger got “the moment” of a news conference.
GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann has been on a fear mongering rampage over the 2010 US Census. Yesterday, Census Bureau spokesman Steve Bucker went on Minnesota Public Radio to clear up Bachmann’s misconceptions. He said that the Bureau is working with Bachmann to explain the rules to her.
Michele Bachmann was on Glenn Beck’s Fox News show today, and the result was an absolute panic over the 2010 Census. Beck worried that by not filling out the Census the government could take away his gun. Bachmann also continued to claim that the Census information could used to put Americans into internment camps.
GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann was on Fox News this morning tying her conspiracy theories about President Obama to the Census. Bachmann united her Obama concentration camp theory and the Census, by stating that the Census was used to round up Japanese Americans and send them to internment camps during World War II, and Obama could do the same.
Fox News struck again today. The network’s on screen graphic while Republican Gov. Mark Sanford confessed his affair labeled him as a Democrat. Later, FNC corrected their mistake, but this isn’t the first time that they have done this. They also labeled disgraced former Republican Rep. Mark Foley as a Democrat.
Tonight comedian Lewis Black was on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann talking about the disappearance of Gov. Mark Sanford, the family values of Sen. John Ensign, and Barack Obama’s smoking. Check out the video.
The bizarre story of Republican South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford’s strange weekend disappearance got a little weirder today as Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer was on MSNBC this afternoon, and said it was a concern to him that Sanford would vanish and be out of contact. Check out the video.
In her June newsletter to constituents, Missouri State Representative Cynthia Davis extolled the virtues of childhood hunger. Davis said, “Hunger can be a positive motivator.”Tonight on MSNBC’s Countdown host Keith Olbermann hammered Davis’ lack of compassion. Check out the video.
This morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough added his name to the growing list of conservatives who are criticizing John McCain and other Republicans for calling for action in Iran. Scarborough said that critics of Obama like Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain are living in an alternative universe.
After the US cable news networks completely blew it last weekend with their lack of Iranian election coverage, Fox News and CNN have gone head to head this weekend with hours of specials and live coverage on both Saturday and Sunday, while over at MSNBC, they still refuse to work weekends.
Sen. John McCain kept up his call for US action in Iran today, while on CBS’ Face the Nation. McCain continued to criticize Obama’s approach to the violence in Iran, but when pushed he admitted that the United States has few options when it comes to dealing with regime. McCain justified meddling in Iran on the principle of freedom.
On ABC’s This Week program, prominent conservative George Will called the right wing criticism of President Obama’s response to the protests in Iran foolish. He said, “The people on the streets know full well what the American attitude toward the regime is. And they don’t need that reinforced.”
As the violence in Iran intensifies and lingers into a week, some Republicans are blasting the neo-cons within their own party who are calling for the US to intervene and take action. Today on MSNBC, Pat Buchanan called John McCain’s comments hot headed, and irresponsible. He said that, “Obama is dead right on.”
Republicans have been known to reinvent history while glorifying Ronald Reagan, but Sen. John McCain took it to a whole new level last night on FNC’s Hannity. McCain was trying to criticize Obama when he gave Reagan credit for the Prague Spring of 1968, while ignoring that Reagan wasn’t a national political figure then.
Jim Cramer was on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning, where he proclaimed that people are against healthcare because it means tax increases. Cramer said “This is all about taxes…when they hear healthcare reform it just means tax increases.” Cramer also said that everybody wishes Obama would go away for a bit.
