Are you already thinking ahead to the holiday season? Sarah Palin hopes that you are, as her publisher Harper Collins has announced that her latest book, America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag will hit stores right in time for the holiday shopping season on November 23. Not since someone thought Alvin and the Chipmunks deserved a squeakquel has there been such a blatant cash grab.

How Thomas Jefferson Warned Us About Sarah Palin

The press fawned over Sarah Palin when she arrived at last night’s Time 100 Gala, stepping over themselves to get a photo of the gal who refused to speak to them until they show “deference” to her as she was campaigning to be Vice President of America and has not yet held a press conference or taken unscreened questions from the press. Palin quoted Thomas Jefferson, whose prophetic quotes suggest he saw Palin coming.

Obama Shines While Jabbing Birthers and Palin at WH Correspondents Dinner

President Barack Obama outdid Leno tonight at the 2010 White House Correspondents Dinner, aka #Nerdprom. There were lots of jokes about his approval ratings, Joe Biden, Mitt Romney and Rahm Emanuel. However his best material was reserved for the birthers and Sarah Palin. For the birthers he joked that his popularity still remains high in his, “home country,†and he jabbed at Palin with a comment about, “socialized media.â€

The Truth is Out: Palin’s VP Debate Answers Were Scripted

The false narrative continues as Steve Schmidt (aka, the Bullet) reveals Palin’s debate answers were memorized and scripted. What’s the difference between a Palin debate and a movie? Not much apparently. Sure, American politicians sell a cult of personality, but must it be so disingenuous as to include main characters like W and Palin? Can’t the GOP find someone who can read? Aren’t candidates supposed to have some ideas, something they stand for and shouldn’t they be able to discuss that topic without memorizing answers?

Teabagger No More: Brown Endorses Romney over Palin for 2012

Scott Brown (R-MA) appeared on NBC-TV’s “Today” show this morning. Brown made his break with the Tea Party final by announcing he would support Mitt Romney over Tea Party darling Sarah Palin, dashing the hopes of many Tea Partiers who had fantasies of a Palin/Brown ticket in 2012. The support of the Tea Party and Sarah Palin’s endorsement are assumed to be responsible for getting Brown his seat in the special election in January of this year.

Palin’s Latest Scandal: Bendy Straws, Lear Jets and Shredded Documents

It kinda looks like she quit to line her pockets. So, I guess it wasn’t all about “progressin’ Alaska”. But ya’ know, money isn’t everything. A girl’s gotta have values, also too. And helpin’ us understand HRH’s “common sense conservative values” is her contract with the California State University, Stanislaus Foundation, where Palin is scheduled to “speak” at a June 25 gala hosted by the foundation to mark the university’s 50th anniversary.
You probably guessed by now that there’s more to this story, as hypocrisy, cover-ups and scandal are just par for the course for the Conservative darling.

Poll: Hillary Clinton Tops Obama as the Most Popular US Politician

One of the most interesting little tidbits in the latest CNN/Opinion Dynamics poll is that Barack Obama is not the most popular politician in the United States currently. Make no mistake, Obama is still popular with a 57% favorable rating, and he is still much more popular than any Republican in the country, but it is Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, not Obama, who has the highest favorability rating in the poll at 61%.

Sarah Palin: The GOP’s Self Styled False Prophet

How much longer is the myth that Sarah Palin is the GOP’s messiah going to persist? More evidence was delivered against her when then Southern Republican Leadership Conference chose to support both Mitt Romney and Ron Paul over Sarah the Savior. Palin even showed up for this gathering and spoke to the crowd, but still failed to look like anything more than the reality TV train wreck that she is.

Weekly Round Up of Republican Wing Nut Circus April 10, 2010

It’s hard to keep up with the Republicans these days. They’re a regular three-ring circus being lead around by leaders like Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck — two out of three of whom we know didn’t finish college. We haven’t seen Palin’s degree from the 5th or 6th college she attended, but recklessly, we are taking her word that she graduated. Personally, I’m still waiting to see her high school diploma, but that’s just me. At any rate, with leaders like this, it’s no wonder that the Republicans are going up in flames.

The Republican Siren Song of Sedition

Throughout my life I’ve never hated someone’s message so much that I wanted to shut him or her down by force. My liberal parents taught me that those folks had a right to freedom of speech. Freedom of speech. This is our right as American citizens. Part of my job as a citizen is to tolerate ideas with which I do not agree, so long as they do not infringe on the rights and safety of others. This is a concept that Republicans no longer understand.

Right Wing Cyber Terrorists Fail To Silence PoliticusUSA with DDoS Attack

Recent visitors to my blog PoliticusUSA had undoubtedly noticed that the site had been crashing frequently. At first both tech support and myself thought a new server was the cause, but the real cause was much more sinister. We were the victims of a sophisticated DDoS attack. Since the far right did not like what we were publishing, they decided you should not be able to read it. This is what passes for freedom in “Real America.”

Sarah Palin Bombs With Her Real American Stories

The numbers are in for Sarah Palin’s first Real American Stories special on Fox News, and they aren’t good. Palin’s special was expected to pull in big numbers for Fox News, but instead did worse that the regular occupant of the 10 PM slot, On The Record with Greta Van Susteren. The viewers that did tune in didn’t stay long as the show lost viewers in every quarter hour. Sarah Palin delivered yet another bomb.

After LL Cool J called Fox News out for trying to sell Sarah Palin’s Real American Stories clip show as new programming, the network responded by claiming that LL does not want to inspire people and took at jab at his acting career. Media Employee Sarah Palin Blames the Media for Her Violent Rhetoric

During her speech at the Tea Party Express rally in Searchlight, NV today, Fox News employee Sarah Palin blamed the media for her target list and her violent rhetoric. Palin said, “It’s a bunch of bunk what the media is trying to feed you. Don’t let them distract you from the debate.” Media criticisms aren’t nearly effective when they come from someone who makes their living on cable news.

Sarah Palin’s Approval Rating Hits a New All Time Low

As Sarah Palin basks in both the cash of and the love from the Tea Party, a new Washington Post poll reveals that her political popularity among the nation as a whole has never been lower. Conservative Republicans give her a 71% approval rating and tea partiers put her at 60%, but the nation as a whole gives her only a 37% approval rating, and a 55% disapproval rating.

Compulsive Liar Sarah Palin Can’t Stop Lying about Health Care

On the day after the House passage of health care reform, denial is running rampant through the right wing. Sarah Palin took to her Facebook page today to continue to lie about health care reform. She said, “It was supposed to make health care more affordable, but our premiums will continue to go up. It was supposed to help more people get coverage, but there will still be 23 million uninsured people by 2019.” Of course, none of this is true.

“Constitutional Expert” Sarah Palin Mangles the Slaughter Solution

Everyone’s favorite quitter, Sarah Palin was on FNC’s Hannity tonight where she called the centuries old deem and pass legislative technique. Palin said, “The process that Pelosi is pushing right now is unconstitutional.” She then lied and said this bill would not have been passed by both houses of Congress. The problem is that the bill will, in fact, be identical. Once again, Palin mangled the Constitution, and the legislative process.

For the Right Price Sarah Palin Will Support Socialized Medicine

While Sarah Palin was off in Calgary delivering a speech for, presumably American dollars, she told the story about how as a youngster her family used to grow across the border to Canada for some of that socialized medical care. She didn’t bash the Canadian medical system. She played to the audience with her Canadian connection, proving once again that her political positions are malleable depending on who is signing the check.

Sarah Palin Invokes God To Explain Her Stupidity

Sarah Palin continues to try to explain away why she had to write her answers to the questions at last month’s Tea Party gathering in Nashville. Palin’s latest attempt occurred at a right to life fundraiser in Ohio last night. She said, “If what was good enough for God, scribbling on the palm of his hand, it’s good enough for me, for us.” Palin has now been reduced to invoking God to explain away her ineptitude.

Sarah Palin Returns with a New Book Scam

Sarah Palin’s publisher HarperCollins announced today that Fox News contributor, and unabashed media whore, Sarah Palin will be writing a second book. The follow up to her best seller Going Rogue will focus on, “a celebration of American virtues and strengths.” The book doesn’t have a title yet, so may I suggest Going Rogue 2: The Quest for Cash?

Sarah Palin Throws another Top Aide under the Bus

One of the few top aides who were still with Sarah Palin announced her resignation today. Palin has a long history of tossing her biggest supporters under the Palin Bus, making sure to leave their reputation in tatters as the bus rolls over them in its relentlessly ambitious journey to her self-described God-mandated “destiny†as President.

Fox News Treats Sarah Palin Like Lap Candy

FNC’s Chris Wallace was on Don Imus’ show this morning promoting the debut of Sarah Palin on Fox News Sunday. Imus asked Wallace if Palin was going to sit on his lap. He replied, “One can only hope.” Fox News is the only network where a woman can go from being a sitting governor to giving lap dances.

Sarah Palin’s Tweets 2 Santa

Sarah Palin Tweets Santa in desperate bid to regain power and set Christian World right again. And threatens God, too, “Plz don’t give any toys 2 minorities. They already took my crown twice. Pointy-headed elites worry 2much. If God cared about planet, he wouldn’t be ending it in 2012. Duh.”

Book Review: Sarah From Alaska

The book Sarah From Alaska by Scott Conroy, and Shushannah Walshe, who were both embedded with Sarah Palin’s vice presidential campaign, manages to accomplish the seemingly impossible. It offers an objective account of Sarah Palin’s fast rise and abrupt resignation. There is lots here for both Palin’s fans and critics.

On Fox News Don Imus Calls Katie Couric a Rodent

Don Imus was on Fox News today hyping his new Fox Business show, and as he and Neil Cavuto were discussing Sarah Palin Imus said, “She should have had enough sense to know she wasn’t ready for primetime…to sit down and not be able to get through an interview with that little rodent over at CBS, Katie Couric is absurd.”

Obama’s Appearance Delivers a Huge Audience for Letterman

President Obama’s critics often complain that he is overexposed and on television too much, but the ratings disagree. The latest example of this was the president’s Monday night appearance on David Letterman’s The Late Show. Obama delivered Letterman his highest ratings in four years and over 7 million total viewers. It seems that Americans still like to watch this president.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Calls Out Glenn Beck

In response to Glenn Beck telling his Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski to shut the hell up yesterday, Joe Scarborough did something he has been itching to do for a while. He opened up on Beck. Scarborough said, “Suddenly the Glenn Beck that nobody watched six months ago is now the Glenn Beck who he thinks is an international superstar.”

Palin Threatens to Call Out Obama on Imaginary Death Panels

Last night President Obama called death panels a lie in his joint speech to Congress. Obama also promised to call out anyone who spreads lies about healthcare reform. This led Sarah Palin to not only continue to stand by her death panels claim, but also promise that she will call out Obama on death panels, but there aren’t any death panels, so this should be interesting to say the least.

Glenn Beck Loses 4 More Advertisers

The group ColorofChange.org has announced that four more advertisers have pledged to pull their ads from Glenn Beck’s Fox News Channel program. Pat Buchanan Outs Sarah Palin on Hardball

Pat Buchanan figured it was just another day on “Hardball†with Chris Matthews, defending the brilliance and relevance of the apple of his eye…oops, I mean, the apple of his party, Sarah Palin. But this particular time Pat opened his mouth, Freud reared his mind over tongue theory, and now the ball is a rollin’.

When Plato and Palin Collide on Twitter

Ever since her resignation announcement, soon to be former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been waxing philosophically on her Twitter account, where today’s attempt at depth was a quote that she attributed to Plato, only it was never uttered by Plato, but instead comes from 1670 gentleman’s etiquette guide. When Palin and Plato collide, the results aren’t pretty.

Dick Cheney: A Cancer on the U.S. Body Politic

I believe that Dick Cheney is a rapidly metastasizing cancer upon the body politic. President Obama has been very gracious — perhaps too gracious regarding the matter of that old Dick. Mr. Cheney is unrepentant regarding the issues of torture and wars of choice, and utterly convinced of the rightness of his actions. He thinks Mr. Obama is weak, effete, an “elite”. At the bottom of his heart there is only fear.

George Will Calls Sarah Palin a Quitter

On ABC’s This Week program today, conservative columnist George Will had some harsh criticism for Sarah Palin’s decision to resign from her position as Alaska governor on Friday. Will said, “Still, she made a contract with them to serve out her term. And she said, in her own words, she now is a quitter.”

MSNBC: Palin to Quit Politics

The bizarre story of Sarah Palin’s resignation continues to grow as MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell is reporting that people close to Sarah Palin have told her that Palin is completely fed up with politics, and is leaving political life for good. If you believe that Sarah Palin is really going to leave national politics for good, I have a bridge to sell you.

Washington Post’s Milbank Calls Nico Pitney a Dick on CNN

After the Huffington Post’s Nico Pitney and The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank engaged in a heated debate about Pitney’s question from an Iranian at President Obama’s recent press conference. According to Pitney when the segment concluded Milbank turned to him and said, “You’re such a dick.” The controversy isn’t about the question, but that a blogger got “the moment” of a news conference.

Fox News Disowns Mark Sanford

Fox News struck again today. The network’s on screen graphic while Republican Gov. Mark Sanford confessed his affair labeled him as a Democrat. Later, FNC corrected their mistake, but this isn’t the first time that they have done this. They also labeled disgraced former Republican Rep. Mark Foley as a Democrat.
