Team Obama Unveils an Epic 15 Second Beat Down of Birther Mitt Romney
By: Jason EasleyAug. 25th, 2012more from Jason Easley
Mitt Romney learns the hard way that birtherism doesn’t pay in this amazing 15 second destruction put out by the Obama campaign.
Here’s the video:
The video script is short and sweet,
Holding out hope Romney had a vision for the middle class? Think again.
Mitt Romney: “No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”
Embracing unfounded conspiracy theories, distracting from real issues.
America doesn’t need a Birther-in-Chief.
It took the Obama campaign 15 seconds to completely take Mitt Romney apart for daring to skinny dip in the cesspool of birtherism. This feat is even more impressive when you consider that the Romney campaign has been fumbling around for months trying to find any catch phrase that will resonate with voters, including their Fox News derived bumper sticker, “You didn’t build that,” which has been turned into a total joke by the fact that Romney can’t seem to avoid holding events and conventions in places that we did in fact build with our taxpayer dollars.
In some backwards, worst evil genius ever way, it’s like Romney was trying to go birther in order to get the media to stop talking about his tax returns. When racism looks like an upgrade compared to talking about your tax returns, you have a lot of problems, and when making a racist remark about the legitimacy of the President of the United States seems like sound political strategy, things have gone very, very wrong.
Mitt Romney wants President Obama and his supporters to get outraged over his birther joke, just like he wanted to be booed while addressing the NAACP. Being hated by the left would only help Romney’s street cred with his own party, but Obama didn’t take the bait. The Obama campaign did the last thing that Romney wanted. They tied his “joke” back to the fact that he has no plan for the middle class. They used his “humor” to argue that Romney has no answers, so he is trying to distract voters.
Strategically, the Romney campaign was trying to get Obama on the defensive. Romney has been pummeled all summer because Obama has been controlling the agenda and running the national discussion. Romney has been on the defensive virtually every week since he clinched the nomination. The birther joke was Romney’s weak attempt to knock the president’s campaign back on its heels.
It didn’t work.
The Obama campaign needed one fourth of a minute to turn Romney’s offensive maneuver into a reminder to Independents and the middle class of why they should not vote for him.
Once again proving the lesson that Republicans never learn; birtherism is a political crime that doesn’t pay.

I love that man!
Not RobMe!
Obama!
He has far more class in his little finger than RobMe, Ryan and Queen Ann have in all three of their bodies put together.
Those three are a danger to this country, with no real interest whatsoever in healing America… It’s about power to them. The accumulation of power. RobMe has had everything he has ever wanted in his life, except being the president of the most powerful country in the world. This is just one more notch in his belt.
They and their Koch bros, Trump cronies, etc etc are part of the problem, not the solution. Taxes: Loopholing, off shoring, hiding businesses, refusing to show tax returns; through Bain: Bankrupting businesses, putting people out of work, pocketing the profits; Policies: Wanting to turn this country back 70 years, down grading women, the elderly, health care, education, minorities and drawing lines in the sand with ‘You people’ remarks.
You people vs Our kind…
Forcing the Trickle Down philosophy down the Middle American throat. Trickle down economics translated means, ‘You people can scramble after our crumbs if we leave enough for you.’
We don’t need this kind of destructive leadership.
Obama: You can see it in his eyes, in his body language, in his words that he cares, truly cares about the condition of America, about the people, the down trodden, the hard workers… he wants to heal this country. He is consistent in his policies and inspite of the extreme republican tea bagger opposition, he has persevered and managed to keep most of his promises with many in the works.
I believe in him.
He has my respect. My admiration. My vote.

So why are they letting Trump and Arpaio beat this drum at the convention? When do they decide that insanity won’t get them votes? Or are they so cocksure that the Diebold cheats have Ohio in the bag that they no longer care about sharing their agenda, their master plan? Not the real one, but the one to appeal to the sheep?

All Republicans who do not affirmatively denounce Birthers are de facto Birthers. Every one of them should be confronted about it and if they give any quarter to this madness in what they say, then they are Birthers and should be exposed and shamed.

I like this ad and would hope it will be advertised far and wide, and often. Simple and to the point. However, I disagree that Romney’s “joke” is an attempt to distract. I believe it was a blatant attempt to appease the birther crowd. To me, his words only add to the enormous contempt I already hold for this man.

The birther comment has been justiied by Romney’s camp, saying Obama has joked about it himself. If I poke fun at myself, that is different than you poking fun at this person in front of a large crowd, some of whom may actually take the joke seriously. It was mean-spirited and unjustifiable. Besides, this is just a matter of birth; Romney’s taxes are matter of ethics.

I realize that anybody can look for and find faults/lumps/warts in/on almost anything.
The statement I’m now making is an effort to assist/consult. I’ve done college and professional work in this stuff. Getting a message across powerfully is among my passions.
Dialing the backing music’s treble/high frequencies lower, to make sure the plosives and fricatives of the lady’s voice get through, is a good idea.
The audio for such a project is not right when one has to work to follow the voice’s message over the music or other sounds.
You don’t want to make listeners work. They don’t want to work. They want to be served something interesting that doesn’t require full attention.
The music was not important and could have been left out entirely.
I applaud that the the spot ended with the text of the last statement made and contact information. Right on target!
I wonder if there isn’t even more powerful footage of Mittens doing the birther (or other stupid) thing.
Any footage of Mittens or Paulie talking/doing anything should leave non-GOP viewers irritated.

Never pick a fight with the smartest kid in the room. That would be the President.
I think what we’re seeing here is classic ‘Groupthink’ – the type responsible for the Bay of Pigs debacle.
In that case, a group of white Christian males sat around in a room and decided that all Cubans hated Castro as much as they did. So they would be greeted with rum and conga drums if they invaded and put their dictator puppet back into power. The rich exiles in Miami told them it would work.
Because they never listened to anyone outside their little circle, it was a debacle. Like our whole military policy for the last 40 years.
Sound familiar?

Even the less maniacal elements (what little of it there is) in the GOP know that Birtherism is a losing issue for them. But, since the lunatics are running the asylum in the GOP, Birtherism is still alive.
