Texas Bill Would Turn Illegal Immigrants Into Indentured Servants
Tea Party favorite Debbie Riddle (I kid you not) (R-TX) introduced House Bill 2012 into the Texas State House, a bill that would jail folks who hire undocumented workers but would exempt anyone who hires “the help” for their homes, thereby effectively legalizing slavery for illegal immigrants. Yeah, you heard that right. All y’all indentured servants working for the rich but cheap white man? Y’all can stay. You might think this is crazy, but consider that this comes from “Terror Baby” lady. See? Now it all makes sense.
Yahoo reported today:
As Texas state Rep. Aaron Pena, also a Republican, told CNN, without the exemption, “a large segment of the Texas population” would wind up in prison if the bill became law.
“When it comes to household employees or yard workers it is extremely common for Texans to hire people who are likely undocumented workers,” Pena told the news giant. “It is so common it is overlooked.”
Jon English, Rep. Riddle’s chief of staff explained that the exemption was an attempt to avoid “stifling the economic engine” in Texas, which today is, somewhat ironically, celebrating its declaring independence from Mexico in 1836.
Mind you, this is the same Miss Debbie who wants to copy Arizona’s papers please law. So, it’s OK and not scary when brown people clean the house and do the yard, but it’s super scary when they….exist? This whole Tea Party thing is starting to make sense. It’s about what serves the white man best at any given moment! Brown person working for cheap for rich man? Good! Brown person driving around? Toss ‘em in jail! Gosh, sounds a lot like slavery, no?
Hey, y’all, so long as you are indentured servants, the white gal from Texas loves ya’! This here is freedom Tea Party style. Think of what this could mean for “terror babies”. If they are willing to clean the toilets of Miss Debbie’s house, they too can come here and be “free”. See, we’re not afraid of the brown, we’re afraid of the brown taking good jobs. But so long as those spunky Texans can make the brown work for free or little, thereby helping to push down the average pay for all Americans, well then, they can stay! Win win!
Now if only Miss Debbie can get the “help” to take over union jobs, the Tea Party overthrow of freedom will be complete!

My son just moved from Michigan (where our smart new governor plans to CUT corporate taxes to 6%, and only tax BIG businesses, and make up the difference by raising individual rates to 35%! We are currently at 4.6%, which is unGodly low, but a thousand percent jump? Either these people truly think no one is paying attention to their lunacy, or they are just insane, I can’t tell. But I do know that progressives are going to have to fight back, and quickly, before America is gone.

We know that the well-to-do conservative right has long had a secret love affair with illegal immigration, even as publicly they think they have to put on sour faces whenever the topic is raised. Immigrant bashers like Debbie Riddle love eating out at her favorite Lone Star state restaurants knowing in her hearts of hearts that the workers in “that thair kitchen” might not hold up to too much scrutiny if their documents were put to the test. She eats there anyway. It’s all been a wink-wink kind of thing.
What this bill clears up for us is just what the conservative right is willing to do to have it – without having it. Everyone else’s undocumented worker, bad. Mine, the one my kids depend on? A-OK, good.
So, hey Rep. Riddle and all you other “protect our borders” people! How about, instead, we recognize that undocumented workers across the board wouldn’t be here if there weren’t a demand. And instead of agonizing over the illegality of it all, why don’t we find a way to make it legal, reasonable and orderly?

Hey guys, has anyone actually seen this bill? I can’t find it anywhere on the Texas Legislature website or on Riddle’s website. The only HB2012 I can find is in regards to operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Just trying to clear up a point with some friends, but I like to do my research.
