Unspinning the Myth that Mitt Romney is a Nice But Misinformed Guy
more from Black Liberal Boomer
More than once I’ve heard TV commentators -even friends of mine – say things like, “I don’t think Romney’s a bad guy, but…” and then they go on to list Romney’s ever-expanding list of assorted gaffes, screwups, misjudgments, whoopsies, etc. Heck even Vice President Biden said it during his address at the Democratic Convention.
Here’s the thing about that; I get why Biden played that card during the Convention because it was a strategic move. It’s a well-calculated effort to appear kinder and gentler while easing the knife into Romney’s gut. When it’s done well it’s a fun strategy to watch and can be extremely effective. It portrays Romney as a well-meaning guy who’s just misguided, misinformed, and in over his head flailing around in the deep end of the pool with the adults. But I’m not so sure everyone is on the same page when issuing these remarks about how good a guy Romney is. I think some of these folks on the Democrat side of the fence actually believe this spin, and that needs to come to an end.
No, there’s no need to slice and dice the man. His record and his behavior should be all that’s needed to make it clear why Romney should not be any sane person’s definition of a ‘nice guy’. Just because he treats his wife and kids well doesn’t qualify. I’m quite sure a number of Nazis during World War II treated their wife and kids with respect too. Of course they did. Those were their wife and kids. It was the Jews, the blacks, the Gypsies, and all other non-whites as well as whites who disagreed with insanity who were at risk of annihilation. So did that make them nice guys? You be the judge.
When it comes to Romney, I think it’s safe to say we’re not at risk of a return to the Third Reich should he be elected to office. The problem, however, is that this is a man who has no problem aligning himself with any nutcase (Pat Robertson being one of the more recent examples), reversing himself on any position (examples too numerous to name however his most recent announcement on Meet the Press that he now doesn’t think it a good idea to completely dismantle Obamacare after only a few weeks ago telling the NAACP that this was exactly what he planned to do should be instructive), and telling any lie repeatedly, forcefully, and with purpose. What do you call a man who has no moral compass and who will re-create himself on a daily basis to win?
In recent weeks, as his shape-shifting abilities have become amped up on steroids, I’d say you call him a man unraveling like a ball of yarn under assault by a particularly ferocious kitty. But you for damned sure don’t call him a good man.

BREAKING: Romney Gains Lead in Virginia
There is a lot of talk in the press about Obama’s post-convention bounce, but perhaps the most overlooked development of the last few days is that Romney, for the first time in the election, has taken the lead in the crucial swing state of Virginia.
Obama won Virginia in 2008 by over 6 percentage points despite its traditionally “red” leanings in the past. But with Virginia moving Romney’s direction, it represents a major development for the presidential campaign.
Virginia is just the latest in a string of swing states that continue to move in Romney’s direction. In particular, Arizona was once thought to be a competitive state for Obama, but has moved firmly into Romney’s column over the last few months.
Other important swing states that keep moving Romney’s direction are Missouri, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Missouri currently shows Romney with a 6 point lead. And North Carolina, the state where Obama’s convention was held, also shows continued momentum for Romney where Romney is up by over 3 points. All of these swing states illustrate the precarious and dangerous environment Obama finds himself in.
So while Obama is undergoing a temporary bounce from his convention, We are reminded of the Republican Primary where competitors rose and fell with great regularity, some in dramatic fashion. Romney knows how to ride out a temporary bump in the polls, unlike Obama.

Bad for you —its early and Obama will not need Virginia to win. But keep the faith that you and Virginia are still losers. Will be reelected and there is nothing that you or your inbred cousins can do about it.

Wishful thinking there boyo! Virginia has a little Conservative surprise waiting for Romney – in the form of a very popular (in southern Virginia) Fundamentalist GOPTPer of the first water – Virgil H. Goode, Jr. He’s the “rill dill.” Be afraid Mittens, be very afraid.

I never thought the GOP would try to damage the country with lies after the Palin
disaster, but Mitt and Ryan are far worse and far more capable of dismantling this society forever. I do hope the debates inform those who are not even paying attention yet.

Its interesting what you say about the debates.
Everyone thinks when the debates take place the republicans will be shown for the incompetents that they are. This is a false narrative. Romney and Ryan will lie during the debates. They will double down and insist their lies are the truth—just like they are doing now. There won’t be fact checkers stopping them to correct them. They have the upper hand because neither have a moral compass that compels them to tell the truth.

Ryan and Romney can try to lie during the debates but do you really think that President Obama and V.P. Biden won’t call them on their lies? In fact, Romney is probably going to have a hard time with this more than anything else. He’s the type of person used to being in charged, not being questioned and having people just do what he says. It comes across in all his interviews and in prior debates during the primaries. I don’t doubt he’ll lose his cool when PBO pushes his buttons, accusing him of lying or just points out his lies as he easily rebuts them.
R&R can get away with lying because most of the time when interviewed, they are going with Fox but even they are starting to question them more and more. I never thought I’d see that day!
I’m looking forward to the debates when Romney can no longer accuse PBO of cutting welfare or Medicare without having President Obama calling him a liar to his face.

No, he is not a nice guy. Instead of supporting a plan to ensure all leukemia patients get medical care, he gets props for going to the bedside of ONE leukemia patient.
It is time also to understand Mormonism not as just another religion that, in the interest of not being bigoted, we can’t criticize. It is, by the accounts of many, many former Mormons, a cult. And what makes it a cult is, in part, its distorted thinking. According to Romney’s second cousin, also a Bishop, now former, because he thought better of it, Mormons believe that wealth equates to heavenly worthiness. If Romney is committed to heavenly worthiness, and if money is how one acquires it, then we have to do everything in our power to keep him forever out of the halls of power from where he will move every last dime of our money into his own pocket.
I don’t know if links are permissible here, but go read the article I read (and more) on the blog by Vegas Jessie.

Romney is a bully. He was a bully in school and still is. He dosen’t like answering questions or having his word questioned. He feels he is entitled to being President. He has some how transfused that feeling to his wife Ann and it shows in her replies to the media.
I believe Romney is a sociopath, and a confirmed liar. He truely believes that the ends justify the means. He is in short a dangerous man. He is Bush 43 only more ego..he has always gotten off because of his good looks and his plastic charm which has all the depth of a coat of paint.

One simple plan to just endorse & support the VOTE by your hand while helping others to VOTE will keep POTUS Obama in office for a restoration of our Constitutional Documents as LAW of the Land.
To date the A.G. Holder is costing support of millions of voters who want safer access to the CURE for CANCERS. We see Chicago has embraced the way , in which our POTUS surely is informed of by M. Rahem, Mayor of Chicago.
Skip over mittens, his hiding of his dirty hands is reason enough to just relegate he and LiaRyan to the also ran dump.
FOCUS on the VOTE, kick out incumbents ASAP.
