The Right Wing Conspiracy Theorists Who Attack Job Numbers Are Pathetic
The job numbers came out today, and they showed that the unemployment rate dropped to 7.8%. This got the radicals on the right all twisted and spouting absurd conspiracy theories that the BLS (Bureau Of Labor And Statistics) is conspiring to bring down the job numbers to get President Obama re-elected.
Unfortunately for them, the BLS isn’t the only statisticians in town. We also have APD payroll, a private company that surveys private companies, and for months their numbers have been larger than BLS.
In fact, even this month ADP’s numbers came in bigger than the BLS final number. Being conservative, you would think they would believe the private sector more than the public sector numbers. But considering those numbers are actually better for Obama, they conveniently ignore that fact.
Another indicator that these right wing BLS truthers are just crying over nothing is Gallup polling. Economic confidence is up, and the University of Michigan’s consumer confidence is also increased. What does that tell us? People feel more confident in their economic situation, and are spending more money, etc.
Even Gallup polling for unemployment came in at 7.8%. The problem for Republicans is that these numbers don’t help their prospects of getting elected, or support their argument. It’s pathetic really. When you think about it, the right is cheering on and hoping for bad numbers in order to increase their chances of winning elections.
If that isn’t unpatriotic, I don’t know what is.

The poor dears — they just lost one more talking point to hammer the President with {“43 consecutive months of 8% unemployment!! The end is near!!”}

Come on, people let’s not get all “Republicans are thugs.”
I question the polls – especially because people who can’t find jobs and have given up aren’t counted. And really, how accurate can this be, doing surveys of people.
Sorry to dissapoint, but I’m a liberal and I think the numbers are a joke.

Then what about the ADP numbers are they bogus also?

The numbers are not “cooked.” It would be virtually impossible to fudge the numbers here and if the President could influence them, don’t you think he would have been doing that all along? Don’t you think Bush would have done it when we were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month?
It is very sad that the right is basically rooting for the American economy to fail just so they can gain political points. It’s quite disheartening to see lawmakers joining the chorus as well.

Correct, Paws. If Obama wanted to avoid all the critics on UE rates being too high, he could have had BLS knock down the number by .1 percnt per month over a few months and the repugs would not have been screaming. Republicans just hate a successful country. It can only happen when they are in charge and they don’t allow any feedback on anything. Romney is being pressured to join the ‘truthers’, but he is avoiding it so far. The 7.8 number could go back up next month. But not by much, say some pundits today.

Look, people. I can guarantee that if Romney were to win, and impose the huge tax cut for the rich, and the economy would likely collapse within a year, they’d turn around and blame President Obama for the collapse.
His actions pulled us from the brink. The Repub-lickins just can’t deal with that.

By the same token, The Repos refuse to admit that Bush/Cheney gave us two unnecessary wars, most of the debt that we see now, and a near economic collapse.
They didn’t even invite Bush to the convention, but they long for the “good old days”.
What does that say???

I find it hysterical that the GOP was shooting off their mouths and then fireworks over Mitt’s kabuki theater performance (complete with illegal notecards he snuck onto his podium), and were assurig donors that Mitt has it under control, blah blah blah send more money. Now that the factcheckers have slowed down the celebration, and these numbers have come out to cpmpletely change the discussion, they are in panic mode again. Poor dears. I worry about the mental state of all of them, from Romney the Liar/Cheat to Insanity, to O’Reilly and Paul Ryan, whose turn to lie to the American populace comes next week, to Reince Preibass, who has wisely kept his mouth closed lately. I guess the October Surprise was not the one they planned, eh?

Does Jack Welch have any idea how many people would have to be “in” on a conspiracy to manipulate labor statistics numbers. Get a grip Jack.
Jack has certainly had a stellar career. Nevertheless, people only remember you for your last act.
You made a real Ass Nozzle out of yourself today Jack. I hope you repair that damage within the next day, or you will just be remembered as one of the nut cases who flocks to Area 51 in their RV and parades around in a suit made of aluminum foil.
Delete your Twitter Account Jack. People like you and Romney are from a different era and can’t handle the responsibility that is commensurate with the power of wielding a Smart Phone.

If the unemployment rate had jumped to 10% for September, the RWNJ’s would have been all over it like ugly on an ape. They would have been crowing and cheering about it as affirmation that Willard should replace President Obama. There would have been no bellyaching about the books having been cooked if that had been the case.

If the president had the ability to cook the books,I think he would have done that months & months ago but the unpatriotic imbeciles are all in denial while they root for their #1 goal to make this president fail,by any means necessary.
Obama~Biden 2012′ FORWARD,we can’t afford to go BACKWARDS.. VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC!!!!
