The protesters are occupying the Capitol tonight. The police are not allowing more people in. We saw footage of the windows Walker barred in a bathroom and protesters had managed to open the top window from the outside. And now police have shut all the bathrooms are closed. If you have to use the bathroom, you won’t be let back in the Capitol.

Governor Walker is a hero for standing strong with the Wisconsin taxpayer against the “me-first-gimme-gimme” brats of the recipient class. Next time the democrat misrepresentatives leave the state, outlaw government unions outright!
GO WISCONSIN TAXPAYERS!

Looks like the Walker Revolution has come to America. Capitol is full of people from the top tier all the way down. Waving sings, chanting, singing. Now they’re saying, “Thank you!” to the Fab 14.
Hope Walker is happy now, hiding in his cave of union busting thuggery. Come out and meet the people, COWARD.

Firefighter says the energy has changed because the Republicans broke the law by taking people’s rights away in a matter of minutes with no notice. They’re talking strike and this firefighter is for it.
Note that the Firefights and Police were exempt from the Republicans union busting bill, so this is huge.
Firefighter mentions the nationwide walk-out by high school students which is scheduled for Friday (see above).

Doors open that haven’t been opened since 9/11. The people have made snowmen in the yard. They heard an announcement that there are no public meetings right now, so everyone inside is there illegally and yet the cops are not throwing people out.
Sarah Jones
Mar. 9th, 2011 at 11:43 pm
I think the police deserve a shout out- they are checking everyone at the door for weapons, but they are being so cool about it. Bravo to them and the protesters for keeping it civil. Notice we don’t see anyone stomping anyone’s head like we did at the Tea Party rallies when a Move On female member got held down and stomped on by two tea party thugs.
Keep it peaceful and keep it strong, people.

This is incredible. For representatives to turn their backs on their own people and do the bidding of the rich and powerful who stand to make millions off of this agreement.
To turn their backs on their own people. And doing it in 19 other states. This is not democracy, nor even constitutional in my opinion. These people need to be recalled immediately so the other 19 states see what they have coming

It is so appalling, and almost funny that they ran on constitutional conservatism. Some of us knew better.

The worst part is, they will be defeated in 2012 and all this reversed. What was the meaning? what was the use? They have tipped their hand for the rich and now everyone knows it
Sarah Jones
Mar. 10th, 2011 at 12:44 am
They’ll walk it back in 2012 and the people will fall for it again. Snyder ran as a moderate Republican and he’s instituting fascism in MI. It makes me ill. The media will sell the people the WMD again and everyone will have amnesia. I can’t understand how people can forget what they know.
Maybe they are waking up now, and voters will be energized in 2012, but it’s a long way off. Must not forget. That said, I am so incredibly moved and proud of the folks fighting day in and day out for their rights. But look at Huckabee right now, going birther for the primaries – most Americans aren’t paying attention. By 2012, if he wins the primary, he’ll start walking all of this back and playing the moderate even though he’s a Dominionist. And Newt….Please.
Sarah Jones
Mar. 9th, 2011 at 11:48 pm
Now they’re chanting, “Union!” and the other side shouts, “POWER!” Back and forth. There’s going to be a public hearing regarding keeping the building open.

What a bunch of thugs these people are. The gravy train is over…they will no longer be able to negotiate with themselves at the expense of taxpayers. Good for Walker and the adults. These are merely little children who throw tantrums and run away from their responsibilities.
Sarah Jones
Mar. 10th, 2011 at 1:14 am
Explain, please, exactly what is over? You do realize that they gave in to Walker’s financial requests weeks ago, right?
Anne
Mar. 10th, 2011 at 12:06 pm
Walker’s behavior is anything but “adult” behavior. An adult would negotiate in order to find the best outcome for everyone, but he is a petty tyrant who mistook his November victory for a mandate to impose his reactionary ideology on the good people of Wisconsin. It’s a sad commentary that people like you gladly carry water for folks who would drown you, as they don’t care about anyone but the very wealth.

“he is a petty tyrant who mistook his November victory for a mandate to impose his reactionary ideology”
I thought we were discussing Wisconsin and now you change the subject to the President.
As for who carries the water for whom, those protestors are the minions of socialist, communist, and anarchist groups NOT the good people of Wisconsin.
Anne
Mar. 10th, 2011 at 2:29 pm
We ARE discussing Wisconsin, and just as people labeled Civil Rights fighters communists, socialist, and anarchists in the ’60′s, you are doing the same thing in order to discredit Wisconsites. In addition, you are proving my point about carrying water for the Koch brothers and their ilk, when they don’t care anything about you unless you are wealthy. Of course, I’m not surprised you brought up the president, since the tiresome and inaccurate mantra of the Tea Partiers is that they want to take the country back. Actually, what they want to do with the help of minions like Walker, Scott, and Snyder is to take the country BACKWARD. While unions are imperfect like anything else, and at times there have been abuses, the benefits workers take for granted wouldn’t exist if it hadn’t been for unions. I would love to see what you have to say when Walker and his henchmen get recalled.

I’m not labeling anyone, the labels are there to see. -The Zapatista Army of National Liberation -Party for Socialism and Liberation -The Maoist Revolutionary Communist Party -Communist Party USA -Trotskyist Socialist Workers Party -Democratic Socialists of America…and I’m sure there are scores more.
btw collective bargaining is absolutely NOTHING like the civil rights movement. You really want to compare Martin Luther King Jr. to some sniveling government employees who are crying because now they can’t get Viagra on the taxpayers dime??? Really???
Sarah Jones
Mar. 10th, 2011 at 6:12 pm
How dare you call hard working firefighters and police “sniveling” government employees? You shame all Americans with your unreasonable hatred of people who bust their ass for you. Sorry they are for it, I’m sure.
And by the way, you greedy little person, they aren’t fighting over money. Capiche? They already gave in on all concessions. This is about RIGHTS. Connect the dots. Rights protected by the UN for god’s sake.
You sound like a bitter person who doesn’t want anyone else to eat because you don’t think your life is good enough. Too bad for you – stop whining about what other people have and go get it for yourself.

Mar. 12th, 2011 at 1:35 am
Sarah, you need to get your facts straight. For that matter, you need to figure out what your belief system is in general.
First, the firefighter and police unions were exempted from this legislation. Yet you attempt to distort the argument by dropping them into the mix.
Second, this has nothing to do with rights. It has to do with contracts and how those contracts will be negotiated in the future. You don’t like the terms of employment? Fine, go find another job. You have the right to do that. You do not have the right to hold your employer hostage (the employer in this case being the taxpayers).
Third, this is the United States of America, a sovereign nation not some outpost of the UN. Our rights and civil liberties are spelled out in the Constitution of the United States. It’s a document you may want to familiarize yourself with…I hear it’s making quite the comeback.
And finally, you seem a bit conflicted. First you call me a ‘greedy little person’ but you then advise me to ‘stop whining about what other people have and go get it for (myself)’. If I follow that advice wouldn’t that make me a ‘greedy little person’? Oh wait, maybe you didn’t mean go WORK for it, you meant go scream and throw a tantrum for it.
Sarah Jones
Mar. 12th, 2011 at 1:40 am
You do realize that the firefighters and police have been protesting every day, right? I assume you also know that exempting them from the legislation is a violation of the state constitution.
Thanks for the less on what the republic means per Fox News. It’s so fresh, I almost feel like I didn’t read it 400 times before from other Fox viewers. I won’t bother helping you understand why the UN rules apply to America, I would hate to interfere in your USA chants and DRILL, BABY, DRILL! I’ve learned never to interrupt deep thinking.
As for your attempt to smear union workers again, I suspect you are jealous that they earn a decent living. Do try to find some compassion and generosity in your heart. One day, you too might have a good job with benefits.

Actually, I don’t watch much TV but when I do turn on the news it’s a mix of all sources…ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox, HeadlineNews and MSNBC. But I’m guessing you won’t apologize for making an erroneous assumption and then launching into rhetoric based on that incorrect conclusion.
