Glenn Beck Labels Himself 90% Chick

Glenn Beck might be a delusional conspiracy theorist, but at least he admits that he blubbers all the time and he is 90% chick.On his show recently, Beck claimed that his caring is misunderstood by the media, but I think Beck is the perfect voice for a Republican Party that has itself has become a blubbering mess.

I will say this for Glenn Beck. He doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously. Beck spent much of a recent interview making fun of his overly weepy nature. You know if Beck was Democrat, Republicans would call him, soft and a wimp. I guess it is ok for a conservative host to cry, when he is an adequate reflection of the state of the conservative movement in the United States.

For a while now, I have been trying to put my finger on why Glenn Beck has gotten so popular. I do believe that it is a case of a person being in the right place at the right time. If Rush Limbaugh is conservative comfort food, then Glenn Beck is Republican sci-fi.

Beck perfectly echoes the state of unbridled fear and confusion that has gripped the Republican Party. Unlike Limbaugh, Beck doesn’t take himself too seriously. He is escapist fare for Republicans. In Beck’s world Obama is cooking up new conspiracies every day. There is no hope for America. We are all screwed.

If you go out and talk to Republicans, you will find that many of them express this same attitude. As crazy as it may sound to the rest of us, they really believe that Obama is going to destroy America. Would Beck be as popular, if McCain had won the election? Probably not, because Glenn Beck’s popularity is an outgrowth of GOP paranoia, Republicans are 90% chick themselves right now. The party of tough talk has become a minority of complainers. Beck perfectly matches the GOP right now. They are both scared, confused, and see the worst in everything.
