Conservative columnist, and Fox News contributor, Charles Krauthammer was on the network today dismissing Sarah Palin as a serious candidate for the presidency in 2012. He said, "She is not a serious candidate for the presidency." The Vanity Fair story has opened up the GOP's mixed feelings towards Palin even on Fox News.
Anyone who is looking for insight into what kind of Senator Al Franken will be, got a little bit of insight from an interview that Franken did with Minnesota Public Radio. Franken drew parallels between his situation and that of former Senator, now Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton's situation when she arrived in Washington.
On The Neal Boortz Show today host Neal Boortz said that global warming is a scam meant to destroy capitalism carried out by socialists and communists. Boortz also blamed the public schools, and claimed that the earth is really getting cooler as carbon dioxide emissions increase. This is the kind of nonsense that makes it clear why Republicans won't be winning an election for a long time.
Three Republican members of the House Census Oversight Subcommittee, Rep. Patrick McHenry (NC), Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (GA), and Rep. John Mica (FL) released a statement today urging Rep. Michele Bachmann to end her boycott of the 2010 Census. They said, "Boycotting the constitutionally-mandated census is illogical, illegal and not in the best interest of our country."
Right wing talk radio led by Rush Limbaugh has spent the day freaking out over Al Franken's victory in the Minnesota U.S. Senate Race. Limbaugh called Franken, "a genuine lunatic." Fox News Radio's Brian and the Judge referred to Franken as,"hateful, maniacal, angry, and evil." While Jim Quinn claimed that ACORN stole the election for Franken.
Last night RNC Chairman Michael Steele was on Hugh Hewitt's radio show and everything was going fine until Steele misunderstood a question about Democratic voters flooding the 2012 GOP primaries, which he answered by accusing the Democrats of hijacking elections at their whim. It is rather ironic that the Republicans are complaining after their activities in the presidential elections of 2000 and 2004.
Today on his radio show Rush Limbaugh said that Michael Jackson, "flourished under Reagan, languished under Clinton and Bush, and died under Obama." Limbaugh claimed that Jackson's successes took place under Reagan, so the metaphor is that America flourished under conservatives and is dying due to a Democrat.
