While ranting about possible new EPA regulations to reduce corporate CO2 emissions on his radio show today, Glenn Beck proclaimed that the devil is in the Obama administration. Beck said, “The devil is in the administration. In fact, I believe that he holds several titles and several offices.”
Here is the video courtesy of Media Matters:
Beck said, “You know everybody is talking about Copenhagen and what’s happening there and healthcare, but the EPA is doing something today..” Beck then directly quoted a statement from the Chamber of Commerce, “An endangerment finding from the EPA could result in a top-down command-and-control regime that will choke off growth by adding new mandates to virtually every major construction and renovation project,” Thomas Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement. “The devil will be in the details, and we look forward to working with the government to ensure we don’t stifle our economic recovery.”
Beck left out the last half of the last sentence of the statement and substituted his own little commentary about the devil, “The devil is in the administration. In fact, I believe that he holds several titles and several offices.”Apparently Beck now believes that Satan himself is the Obama administration, and interestingly enough, he is opposed to climate change.
One would think that the devil would not be opposed to the earth getting hotter, but in the mixed up mind of political commentator/evangelist Glenn Beck, anything is possible.
Beck is trying to play to evangelical community with comments such as this. If you listen carefully to Beck, you will realize that he is quickly moving from commentator to politician. I view his comments today as another signal of his intentions to form a third, more right wing party.
