Rush Limbaugh Uses Tiger Woods to Attack the Black Frame of Mind

On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh was explaining to his listeners how black people have a terrible frame of mind because President Obama has abandoned them when he added, “I’m sure Tiger Woods’ choice of females not helping them out with their attitudes either.”

Here is the audio courtesy of Media Matters:

Limbaugh said, “Black unemployment is terrible. The black frame of mind is terrible. They’re depressed. They’re down, Obama not doing anything for them. How’s that hoax and change working for ya? They’re all livid. They thought there was going to be an exact 180 degree economic reversal, and it’s done nothing but get bad for everybody, but they’re especially upset about it because they look at him as one of them, and now they feel abandoned, and I’m sure Tiger Woods’ choice of females not helping them out with their attitudes either.”

This is why the NFL did not want Rush Limbaugh. The racism in his rant would be unbelievable if it didn’t come out of his mouth so often. What is more preposterous, Rush’s expertise on the black frame of mind, or his belief that black people feel let down by Obama? The funny thing is that in the 2012 election African Americans will likely express their feelings about Obama by voting for him again.

Limbaugh spun another racist tall tale for his audience. In Rush’s mind, Tiger Woods only let African Americans down because he is, “one of them.” The reality though is that Woods let down fans of all shapes, colors, and sizes. I guess to Limbaugh white people should have expected this from Woods, because to him it is what “they” do.

  1. Boy, Limbaugh comes through with another doozy … just when we thought Glenn Beck was the nutiest character in the media. Is Limbaugh feeling the competition?

  2. Woods let down his family; his wife and kids are far more affected than his fans by all of this.

I feel sorry for them; all the attention can only make it worse.

  3. Rush did say that racism would increase if Obama were elected, and I think he was right. The first time a Black man gets elected, and in just 11 months he has turned our country into something I can’t recognize. Trying to turn it into some fascist welfare state. For the first time in my life I am afraid of what my country is coming to, and I despise Obama and his crew, white or black.

  4. Of course Rush would know that racism would increase, he is a racist himself and he knows who his audience is. How did Obama turn this country into omething you don’t recognize ? Really, like did all the MacDonald, BurgerKing, and WalMart disappear or something ? No! Did your guns get taken away ? No!
Have you been told you can’t freely drive across the country ? No! Oh, I get it you mean that your president is no longer a white guy ! Wow that’s got to be !
You seem to forget that this finacial crisis started with Republican president who happened to be a white guy ! You forget that Pres. Obama early this year said the news was going to get worse before it got better, but was told that the American people didn’t want to hear it, that they only wanted to hear good news.

And as for Tiger Woods, honestly most black folks could care less, this matter is beween him and his wife Elin. As usual Rush shot off his mouth about something that he doesn’t know any thing about that is: Black people !
Does he forget about all the famous white men who have cheated on their wives:
Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower, JFK, Pres Bill Clinton, John Edwards, former NY Gov. Eliot Spitzer, SC Gov. Mark Sanford, and don’t forget John MaCain.

And don’t forget that all the women who cheated with Tiger. All white women !

So what to all these things says about white people’s mindset ? Hmmm !

You know all of Tiger Wood’s behavior has proven to black people is that he is just human and imperfect as all of mankind.
White people aren’t perfect either. The Bible did say: All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. That I think says it all.

  5. For many, Tiger Woods was seen as a good role model for athletes in general, and black athletes in particular.
Recent revelations prove that Woods is no saint – big shocker!
Rush (or Pastor Manning, for that matter) know that the liberal mentality has deeply affected the African American community. While there are some conservative voices in the black community, we seldom hear them.
Tiger Woods has deeply hurt his wife, his fans and revealed his own callous attitude towards moral values.
It turns out he is just another vain public personality and his golf career will suffer as a result.

  6. Matthew 9:36: On seeing the crowds he felt pity for them, because they were skinned and thrown about like sheep without a shepherd. This scripture reminds me of how white people feel with Obama in office not because of his political views but because of his color and the fear of the “unknown” regarding the country. Even though presidents before him sent American soldiers oversees to fight, corrupted the nation, made false promises, allowed poverty, inadequate education, inadequate healthcare in minority communites and the list goes on, they are in denial about their past presidents and the state the country got in because of them. Americans have “selective amnesia” in this regard. We already know what President Obama has inherited as far the mess Bush and those before him created and the fear is from that mess and the collapse of the financial insitutions. He can’t do everything or undo everything, but he can only do his best in a carefully calculated way.

2 Timothy 3: 1-4: But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power. Being famililar with this scripture does not make me suprised or oblivious to why we have the problems existing in this world today. The scripture says it all.

  7. If being against Obama and his crew for what they are doing to this country is racist, than i must be racist. Now does that make YOU LIBERAL POS’S HAPPY!

  8. You guys are just chomping at the bit to find a way to accuse Limbaugh of racism. FYI, It was a Eugene Robinson column speculating on Tiger’s choice of women that prompted this.

  9. What does Obama have to do with who tiger woods sleeps with??? Most black people I talk to feel he is doing the best he can with what he has to work with.

  10. when Rush gets what he says about tiger woods from the AP.

im sure that cut of information was pure accidental from media matters…….yeah right ;)

  11. You know, when you listen to the clip and then read the transcript, the two have different meanings for me. The audio seems to be a reasonable observation, worded well, and I don’t necessarily have a problem with it. He seems concerned for the wellfare of blacks, not racism. Let’s face it, most blacks voted for the color of the candidate and not for the best, most experienced candidate for President.

Black people DID expect a miracle with Obama, but in the end the policies will hurt working people. It’s simple economics and too many Americans want to blame race for opposing views. Rush is just saying what everyone is thinking.

  12. For those of you who don’t get it, it racist because Rush believes that (and most of you it seems do to) blacks think differently than whites (black frame of mind). It is racist, while I cannot say that I understand what blacks have went through in their lives I know how people think, the brain has no color (OK gray) what Rush said is racist, Next while talking about a black man Rush’s pea brain automatically focuses on another black man, racist.

  13. Rush’s focus on the “black frame of mind” is the result of the election. More blacks than ever finally went to the polls to vote. Why? RACISM. Everyone knows without this surge of black voters to the polls, we might have McCain in office.’

So, it’s reasonable to assume that there were unrealistic expectations for what Obama was going to do for the black community. Rush is addressing the fact that people are still hurting, and will continue to feel the pain of a bad economy. The policies that Obama is trying to implement (or has implemented), will guarantee more dependance on the government which equates to more poverty and depressed or “terrible frame of minds” for the black community. You don’t have to be a mind reader to figure this out.

My question is, why didn’t I see this same surge for the democratic candidate for Governor in Virginia? Simple. The guy wasn’t black. But Obama won Virginia. There’s the bottom line to your Racism theory.

  14. A lot of white people who voted for Obama voted for a win for the civil rights movement, not for President.

  15. To keep the Rush Machine cooking there must be an outrage a day….if not 1000! If he wasn’t such a sad ass contributor to the decay and courseness in society he’d be kinda funny. Ya know.. the hubris of a drug addict,4or 5 wiver , fired by my KC royals American good EXAMPLE, apparently to many of my fellow citizens is well…..freakin amazing. What in the F… do Obama and Tiger have to with other….??… why it’s brilliant racist propaganda man o man Rush you ARE a piece of work

  16. Rush Limbaugh, creative draft dodger in the Vietnam era, is an idiot by choice who has a huge following of people who couldn’t think their way out of wet paper bag with a big butcher’s knife in one hand and a giant razor blade in the other.

  17. What an incredibly demeaning, disrespectful, dismissive thing to write in the context of race. You should be deeply and profoundly ashamed of those words.

That blacks voted for race and not for other more important and substantive reasons is insulting.

  18. That’s the number 1 definition of the acronym from urban dictionary, and would seem to be your intended meaning by contexrt.

    You’re an offensive jerk.

  19. Rush, when you want to represent “Black People”, you might want to talk to a few before your before the Professor of Black Psychology. When the person gives you your script to read every morning, you might want to check it before you start ranting (you might want to wear a bib). As a Black person in America (notice it is non-hyphenated) It is abundantly clear that our president was not going to have an easy road. Any time you want to have a real conversation give me a call.

  20. Let’s get real here, my neighborhood voted for him for one main reason. There’s no denying it. It’s plain as day. No need to be insulted. It’s wrong but it’s true. All of my neighbors normally wouldn’t vote at all, and they didn’t vote for Governor of Virginia.

  21. TNB is an Acronym for Typical Nigger Behavior

You don’t even know how to use the Urban Dictionary, yet you’re calling someone else a jerk. WTF!!!!!! (See if you can figure out that acronym.)

  22. TO ALL!!!

Rush did NOT say any of those comments you are bashing him for. If you actually listened to his radio show rather than listen to snippets taken from slanted opposition to his political stance then you would be truly be enlightened. He actually quoted this stuff from Jessie Jackson and other AP articles he had come across. NOT HIS OWN WORDS OR OPINIONS. And if you do get a true clip of the complete segment it will shed more light onto why he even brought up the topic. Furthermore, it will show you why he begrudgingly brought up the topic of Tiger and had predicted his words would be twisted in the same fashion you’re doing now. Now I don’t agree with everything that Limbaugh says but as a Jamaican American who is very proud of his culture and who does not really know what the “black frame of mind” is or is supposed to be, I’m baffled by the African American consensus that is rooted in the “us against them” attitude. Black America as a whole will NOT progress and prosper until they put the PAST, keyword PAST behind them and fight the good fight with a good education and honest work so that an overwhelming majority of Blacks fall into this category so that occurrences like Obama’s are not out of the ordinary but rather a norm. NOBODY can derail my perseverance and accomplishments with a few low ball racial epithets but on the same token neither Jessie Jackson or self proclaimed Reverend Sharpton is going to do anything for me. I wish people would offer their opinions in these forums without it becoming racial mud slinging no better than some of what you think of Rush’s opinions. And anyone who has to call people names falls very short of making any valid point.

  23. Do you mean to say that “they” do not routinely behave as Tiger Woods has done? If so, please provide some evidence of it. And while you are doing so, please explain the 70% illegitimacy rate.
