The Political Apocalypse is Coming As the GOP Guns for Palin

Political Apocalypse Coming; GOP Guns for Palin

The Palinistas have expended an unending and rather careless amount of spittle denouncing the “liberal main stream media”, which seems to have blinded them to the reality that Republicans have done the most damage to Palin.

Not only in Alaska, where her relationship with former Republican allies continued to deteriorate in her first year as governor, to the extent that the majority of ethics complains filed against her were filed by Republicans, but in the past year, Palin’s biggest enemies have come from within; former allies, staffers, family members, fans.

Palin’s most powerful nemesis, McCain/Palin campaign strategist Steve Schmidt, will soon return the fire Palin unloaded on him from her book, “Going Rogue”. Operation Palin Apocalypse officially commences Sunday night when Schmidt appears on 60 minutes. The only question remaining is how low will they go? This is the GOP after all. The party of Rovian election tactics.

Rachel Maddow gave us a preview of Schmidt’s jihad, which reveals that they’re going after Palin’s blatant lying about her guilty verdict in the bi-partisan Blanchflower Troopergate investigation, her lying about her husband’s AIP membership, her consistent inaccuracies regarding her record, her unwillingness to prepare for debates and interviews, and her odd speech affliction which made it impossible for her to address then Senator Joe Biden properly (apparently, Palin’s consistent “O’Biden”s caused the debate prep team to suggest she address Biden as “Joe”, leading to the infamous “Can I call you Joe” VP debate moment. )

Republicans know she is not electable, yet they need her teabagging base motivated to get out and vote. The hard right (Limbaugh, Beck, Palin crowd) are the folks who show up to vote in the primaries. Could Palin walk away with the Republican nomination, leaving the Republicans doomed to an epic failure?

The GOP simply can’t afford to have Palin on the loose, leading the misinformed teabaggers on their crusade against moderate and secular Republicans if they want to survive 2012 with an ounce of pride.

The same logic applies to 2010, where the Republicans stand a solid chance of ousting the Democratic majority in the House and Senate. The GOP can’t afford to sit idly by and allow Palin to do what she did to the NY congressional race, wherein her interference caused the first Democrat to be elected to that district in over 100 years.

Republicans already got what they needed from her in Obama’s first year: Palin’s allergy to the truth made her the perfect GOP puppet to distibrute blatant lies about healthcare, the stimulus, global climate change, etc. Essentially she was used in an unsuccessful attempt to derail Obama’s first year.

She’s been branded with Liar of the Year awards from numerous outlets due to her last year as GOPPER puppet. It seems Sarah’s rather brilliant gut level political instincts may not be on par with the national GOP strategists. Pain doesn’t seem to grasp that the national party doesn’t believe that she’s “mantled for the Presidency”. The only point Palin and the national Republicans can agree upon is their belief that the ends justify the means; a temporary and expedient Machiavellian marriage of religion and politics helps them both achieve the power they feel duly entitled to hold.

Will the GOP go for the jugular? Will they release the photos they scrubbed from the Johnston computers? Will they bring up Abortion Wite-Out Gate? Will they bring up her lies about providing a birth certificate for her youngest child, whose birth is the source of undying rumors that started in Alaska before she was tapped for VP and continue to this day? Will they question her Wild Ride?

I doubt they’ll need to go there, as they’ve signaled to their obedient media water bearers that it’s Opening Day on Palin Season. Expect to suddenly see a press performing “due diligence” on Ms Palin. You know, the sort they should have done last fall. But they’ll hold the big guns as insurance for 2012.

Some things they won’t touch (lest their own hypocrisy be exposed): Palin’s Bush-like use of private email accounts to avoid FOIA requests, Palin’s unethical and allegedly illegal attempts to avoid transparency, etc. In other words, her Bush/Mussolini governing style won’t be the focus of the criticisms. After all, they can destroy their populist princess with a few fatal blows to her Hockey Mom image and be done with it.

Sarah was right about one thing: the End is coming. The End of her Reign of Terror.

Shame on Senator John McCain for unleashing the “Little Shop of Horrors” on Americans. He has yet to apologize, let alone admit his reckless carelessness. Country First, indeed, Senator.

I discounted everything on the screen because of the inanity of the whole blog post. And as to why I did not post a little longer reply:

“…all I know is that so long as I am asleep I have neither fear nor hope, trouble nor glory; and good luck betide him that invented sleep, the cloak that covers over all a man’s thoughts, the food that removes hunger, the drink that drives away thirst, the fire that warms the cold, the cold that tempers the heat, and, to wind up with, the universal coin wherewith everything is bought, the weight and balance that makes the shepherd equal with the king and the fool with the wise man. Sleep, I have heard say, has only one fault, that it is like death; for between a sleeping man and a dead man there is very little difference.”

But now that I have some time:

You assume Sarah Palin has been damaged by all of this. I contend she has not. She is more influential than ever, able to change the course of debate on major national issues through nothing more than a simple Facebook post. She has a best selling book. She has a PAC. She is free of frivolous ethics complaints. She has time to spend campaigning in 2010 for conservative candidates. Personally, I think she is laying the groundwork for a 2012 Presidential run. Things are looking good for her all around. Don’t spend all your time on those subdomain Alaskan blogs.

Becoming the Vice-President would have been an historic moment for her. Becoming the GOP nominee for President would be even more so.

If Steve Schmidt is Palin’s most powerful nemesis, then she has nothing to worry about.

Much of this was covered in the Governor’s book. However, one thing I will address is that the Alaska legislature had no authority to punish Sarah Palin for her “ethical misconduct”. Only the Alaska Personal Board can do that. And you know what? They cleared Palin of any wrongdoing.

The Branchflower report was a glorified opinion of one man. And yes, it is spelled with an “R”.

Yet she was elected as Governor in Alaska. And let it also be known, a greater percentage of the population voted for her than did Clinton in 1992.

You give Palin too much credit. I always thought it was the voters who decide elections. The 23rd Congressional district will be in GOP hands shortly. Count on that.

And while I don’t think the GOP will retake the House or the Senate (though I have been surprised before) they will gain enough seats to impose a virtual gridlock. That will impede Obama’s agenda to a significant degree, and they can make him look weak and ineffectual.

I wouldn’t trust the GOP strategists-they seem to having a tough time of it now winning elections. And I don’t care what a few obscure websites say about Palin, nor does anyone else of any importance.

The GOP insiders will have to realize that they don’t pick the nominees. We the electorate do so.

You give yourself away here. You see, I know which blogs talk exclusively about these issues. I know where these rumors originated from. I’ve scouted these blogs out and perused their unholy contents. Why you are taking the lead from a bunch of conspiracy theorists is beyond me.

Trig Trutherism is nonsense, and you act foolishly in attempting to give it some validity by espousing it here.

Reign of Terror? A little over the top if you ask me. But a few polemics thrown about from time to time doesn’t bother me. What is laughable is that you think that Sarah Palin is going away anytime soon. She isn’t, and I’ll take you to the bank on that.
Since Machiavelli
was a political theorist and philosopher who wrote extenistively about the use and maintenance of power, references to his theories will occur naturally when discussing politics — especially the more cynical uses of power as evidenced in the current Republican party.

I, however, am not of the school that all Machiavellian approach is “evil” — he was quite the pragmatist in many ways. A balance between pragmatism and cynical abuse of power is the goal, one imagines. One must read more than the popular and misunderstood “The Prince” in order to appreciate Machiavelli. His uncoupling of political theory from ethics is something I’m sure Palin would appreciate.

Nonetheless, in my sentence “a “Machiavellian” marriage of religion and politics” — (my description of Palin and the GOP’s relationship with the Evangelicals), I most certainly was using the description to evoke the commonly associated pejorative interpretation.

It’s interesting that you assume a writer does that to “sound smart”. What is so smart about having read Machiavelli and assimilated information every other 8th grader has? Had I wanted to sound smart, I would have quoted Hellenistic philosophy of Cicero from the original Latin, as I first read him. Cicero; the father of constitutionalism and certainly an important reference for true conservatives and patriots.

Attempting to sound smart is a futile mission which leads to quoting Plato incorrectly from WebGarden and publishing it in your “memoir” (I refer to “Going Rogue” here). The true challenge is to think — something which does not require any specific type of education, and leads to intellectual freedom when achieved.

You sound very interested in politics- so I urge you to check out from the library the following the books (if you haven’t already read them), from which you will learn about the the evolution in thought regarding the foundations of our own government:

The Republic by Plato
On The Republic and On The Laws (de Legibus; also referred to as “the duties”), both by Cicero
The Discourses on Livy- Machiavelli

I would love to chat with you more after you’ve finished one of the above.

“Nescire autem quid ante quam natus sis acciderit, id est semper esse puerum. Quid enim est aetas hominis, nisi ea memoria rerum veterum cum superiorum aetate contexitur? ”

p.s. I will add that I hardly consider myself “smart”. A wise person knows they know nothing. We are all constantly learning.
I said clever, not smart. There is a difference.

That said, your false humility is not amusing. Boasting about your intellectual capacity while simultaneously downplaying it perfectly illustrates your hypocrisy.

You don’t address the fact that you made Trig Truther allegations. You instead ignore that inconvenient fact and move on to more pressing issues-the political philosophy of Machiavelli.

Come back when you can defend your asinine remarks.

2. All I can say is what a bunch of garbage, and they’re starting the same crap on Michael Steele. We don’t want GOP puppets but people who speak for themselves. Why don’t they get some real records on Obama and we all know he’s wins the honesty award of the year! Steele+Palin Palin+Steele or Palin+Hillary 2012.

3. Hillary is in no way EVER going near Palin. Serror is not in the same class. As for Steele HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Half the GOP will NEVER vote for an AA man!

4. Anonymous on Sat, 01/09/2010 – 15:24—–“Why don’t they get some real records on Obama and we all know he’s wins the honesty award of the year! ”
————————————————————————–
Ahhh yes…the tried and true method of defending Palin by ripping Obama. I will NEVER get sick of this and you Palinbots use it so often, it’s becoming a classic. You poor fools in your Sarah Palin fantasy are more entertaining than a stadium fire at a monster truck rally.

5. I think Palin should keep it up–she’s the best comedy relief this country has seen in decades. Her self-absorption, trail of lies, use of her children as props, bizarre backward family values, hypocritical “Christianity” and closet full of skeletons guarantees Americans a train wreck wherever she goes.

And then she opens her mouth….good God.

I live in a red state, and the people who babble about how wonderful she is are also helpfully warning us about which wingnuts we need to stay far away from. So that is really useful also too! Thanks, Sarah!

6. Thank you!
“… more entertaining than a stadium fire at a monster truck rally.”
From a “real” Alaskan woman. Couldn’t have said it better myself! Or maybe like Tropic Thunder…”She has gone full retard”!

Yeah; we tried to keep her contained up here but the low 48 bought McLame’s BS…now you all get to keep her. She won’t be here much longer with her steadily declining popularity….that is what a runner up beauty queen is all about.

7. Her DIVA time is up and her pedestal is starting to crumble. And it’s about time! As Maddow so eloquently put it, “Payback is a Schmidt.”

8. Can you just see this clown addressing world leaders with her pentient for nicknames? I wonder which female world leader would be addressed as “The Falafel Lady”? Can you see a cabinet meeting where she discusses”the perky one”,”The short guy”,”he whos name I cannot pronounce””,and a host of others? Maybe “Oputin” ? How about “Ahmedi-boy” ?

9. Do you remember that in Dayton and Minneapolis she talked about how she told Congress “thanks but no thanks” for the bridge to nowhere- then suddenly she didn’t talk about it anymore. That was because Alaskans exposed that for the first lie of her campaign- she wasn’t governor when the state got the money, so she never told Congress a thing.

And that’s why there’s no mention of it in “her” book.

Palin will find out- whether it’s
*troopergate
*secret email accounts to avoid state disclosure laws
*getting per diem for living in her own house
*taking kids on junkets to New York City at taxpayer expense, and
*supporting huge corporate income tax increases and a 35% increase in the state budget in just 2 years

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE

10. The GOP is doomed because they are simply DUMB and IGNORANT.

Lies, negativity and criticism can only get you so far. In the end you actually have to do something positive. And for quite awhile now the GOP is ALL NEGATIVE all the time – and look where they are now: no White House, no Senate, no House.

11. I have long thought that Sarah Palin’s followers are not just dumb, but also political amateurs. I assume that most of them had not been interested in politics before that scary black man was nominated by the Dems last year. Their political interest and knowledge was probably fairly low. I mean, not EVERYONE’S a political junkie like most of us here are.

SO, that scary black man was nominated and then won the election and all of a sudden their “world” (read, “white world”) was lost. These Palin supporters are scared of change, and change has come with the face of a black man. They start thinking about politics and what it would take to get “their world” back and Sarah Palin reemerges from defeat as their new – white – savior. All of a sudden, words like “constitution” and “tea party” are flung around and these poor, scared people cling to them. They probably don’t know exactly what’s in the Constitution – like the idea of three branches of equal government – and think that if they elect Sarah Palin as President in 2012 that she can magically wave her arms and get rid of abortion rights, and all the other new, frightening things that have happened in this country since the halcyon days of the 1950’s.

Sarah Palin further appeals to her followers by writing a book that contains a very key, code word. Substitute “Jesus” for “God” in all the sentences that contain the word “God”, and you can see exactly what she’s “promising”, a return to a white, Christian America.

I feel – somewhat, anyway – sorry for her followers. They will grasp on to anything that will change the fact that America is no longer an all-white nation. The “great American melting-pot” has crept on to these people and scared the hell out of them.

12. I don’t think the GOP will really go after Sarah at this time. They need her to keep the base fired up until they can make progress in Congress and the 2012 election. The media and the GOP needs to stop building her up beyond her real capacities and really come up with a genuine honest and qualified leader. Right now all they have are liars and cheats who rather see people suffer than work in union with our President. They must have someone that is qualified somewhere, but apparently they have no guts and are afraid to show themselves. They would rather be puppets to the Right Wing Nuts. I pray for Obama to stay focused in the midst of all these attacks against him. He is braver and stronger than all the lying GOP put together.

13. A majority of the American people will not vote for Sarah Palin. But she does have a rabid group of people who believe Sarah can do no wrong. No matter what the facts show, for them, the facts are lies. Even the slightest criticism sets her loyalists into a frenzy. They will defend this woman to the bitter-end. And anything contrary or threatening to their worldview will not be not tolerated. So when you hear Sarah’s loyal defenders say, “she’s just like me” it is true.

To illustrate the extent of intolerance Andrew Sullivan has posted, on his blog called “The Daily Dish,” an e-mail he received from a reader who wrote:

“Just last night I decided to take a look at [Sarah’s] Facebook page and commented on the last note there, one where she says that we don’t need a president who is a scholar of constitutional law to deal with the threat of terrorism.

“I posted completely rational entries about two Supreme Court cases (Hamdan and Hamdi v. Rumsfeld, cases decided in 2004 and 2006) and what they said about the rights of suspected terrorism and their coverage under Article 3 of the Geneva Convention. When I went back to the Palin FB page today, I could no longer post on the FB page. ”

It is unnerving to think this woman was so close to having her hands on the levers of power.

Understandably conservative republicans want to take her down, but Sarah has no allegiance to the GOP (nor anyone other than herself). Sarah will retaliate. Even if she doesn’t aspire to be president this woman will exact revenge one way or another or give it her best shot. How much damage Sarah can do remains to be seen.

But one thing for certain, Sarah’s adoring loyal warriors will come running, at the drop of a hat, to fiercely defend Sarah, their mighty “saviour”, to the bitter end because “she’s just like me.”

I have never seen anything quite like it.

14. Using Machiavelli in you blog may make you sound clever, but it doesn’t make you right.

You actually lend some credence to Trig Truther nonsense, and then actually lay hopes on the fact that this conspiracy theory will Palin to her knees? Come on, try harder.

You are regurgitating old talking points repeated so many times before. Governor Palin has taken far worse from worse people than you.

Yeah, BUT they speak LIESSSSSSSSSS……………
is it ok to tell lies, just because they can SOUND folksy and genuine? That is what a huckster does,,,a con artist. Palin is a grifter, most are GOOD at it. They LIE really well!

16. If Palin or her followers don’t like what they read on facebook its eliminated what the heck is that all about ?There are two sides to every issue and whether we like the other opinion or not it’s relevent ! Many times when I thought I was certain something was absolutely on target an opposing opinion caused me to probe further, not always changing my mind but forcing a look at both sides.Mrs Palin thats why this country has Political Parties so we can make a choice not have it made for us. Your brand of (Or lack of ) Politics would have us do it your way.No matter what you think most people view you as a total disaster.Guess what ? I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt but after doing a little research on your background it scared the hell out of me.I listened to you (One side ) And did research (the other side)The moral of the story is two sides are important to make a decision !

17. a Palinite, Sal Mauceli , writes (spelling errors are direct quotes):

“I am so discusted with FOX. 1/4/2010 Sunday night on HannityThe one guy I though I could count on, let Sarah down. Tonight he has one of those focus groups. AANNNNNDDDDDDDD….He asked who in this room would vote for her? 6 people raised their hands out of a room of about 60 people. That’s 10% WOW! Then Luntz asked why…? “airhead” “stupid” “quiter” “bad mother” “uses her children to campain” “sexualy provocative” “she quit for the money”. on and on and on!Fox keeps putting Sarah on the chopping block! I AM SICK OF IT! THIS IS NOT A LIVE BROADCAST THEY COULD HAVE EDITED THE INSULTS. NAME ANOTHER POLITICAL FIGURE WHO IS HELD UP TO THIS TYPE OF RELENTLESS SCRUTANNY?I AM ASKING EVERYONE PLEASE BOMBARD THE HANNITY SHOW WITH EMAILS – TWEETS – CALLS”

18. Thanks for the advise… Liberals looking out for the GOP.. Isn’t that sweet.

I just love how Palin’s attackers have to lie to say she lies. Over and over again. You never take into account that many people already know the truth and it isn’t what you’re selling.

Rationing Obamacare, no transparency (ala CPAN) , fisting in education, and no concept of keeping the homeland safe…Yes Obama and the Libs are finished.

The GOP just rendered themselves irrelevant too by keeping a corrupt lobbyist in charge of CPAC, while at the same time having the John Birch Society host the damn thing. Palin declined their offer based of those two facts and have rendered that party irrelevant.

By the way the Alaska GOP hated Palin because they were corrupt and she exposed them as such.. Look up the “Corrupt Bastards Club”

You left out the fact that the Democrats loved Palin in Alaska before the VP pick…Whoops!

and “Quit making thing up!”

I think it is you buddy, who needs to look it up.
Funny, those of you who believe the GOP is “irrelevant”. Really? Read much? Either you have no concept of the power structure of the party, their history and what entities they represent and will defend OR…you have your sniffer so far up Sarah Palin’s backside that all you know and speak is what remains of the vitriolic sewage that spews from her botox laced mouth.
“The GOP just rendered themselves irrelevant”
I’m sorry but that is the most hilarious thing I’ve heard all week. and it’s Saturday. Thanks for that. Really.

21. There are photos of her with John Birch booklet in front of her all over the web, and looking into her policies and relationships in AK, this is even more clear.

She isn’t not going because of John Birch– and if you think that and support it, how could you support her?

Also, your spelling is atrocious.

23. as so divided that a “liberal” wouldn’t be interested in the fate of the Republican party.

This is OUR country- all of ours. We should all care about the fate of both parties. Sadly, the current Republican party, having been co-opted by the Evangelical right, is a mess of racism, fear ,and bigotry not to mention out of ideas and inept at governing.

The farcical, cynical nomination of Palin as VP proves the above.

The fact that she is a liar has been empirically established and your denials of such say more about your own sources of information than they do about reality.

One hopes the Republicans get it together, as we require a thoughtful and genuine opposition in order to truly be our best. Note the use of “our”. This is our country.

I sincerely hope you ponder that notion. Our differences, in an ideal world, would not lead to an ideological civil war but rather to vigorous debate, from which better ideas would result.

24. are you suggesting that Palin didn’t lie? If that is so, then the following must be true:

Her husband was not a member of AIP? And yet, his membership is a matter of record. It isn’t up for debate. Her inclusion and support for that party are evident as well, given the video she created for them as well as the open door access she provided their leader during her mayorship and short time as governor.

Palin lied about her husband’s AIP membership. Just as she lied about the bridge to nowhere, the Troopergate findings, etc.

Defending the indefensible requires strong shots of denial with every keystroke, an insulated, small circle of “reliable information”, along with a willful disregard for facts.

Hillary would never run with Palin, but I give you extra points for humor.

As for Steele, he was appointed as the “token” diversity face for the racism-riddled GOP, rather than for his leadership and abilities. Ironic that the GOP exercised the very thing they are constantly disparaging — affirmative action – in both their pick of Palin and Steele- rather than choosing based on merit.

Of course, this is a poor example of affirmative action’s true purpose which is not to appoint the mediocre and inept as a puppet, but to create opportunities for meritorious minorities who do not have equal access to certain positions, as proven by the statistical holdings of said positions.

25. Great post!

I agree. Her followers don’t have a clue to what’s in the Constitution except for the Second Amendment. And they don’t even understand that.

They probably were never interested in politics, that is, until Barack Obama made an entrance. I’d bet thet when and if they ever voted before 2008, they would just go into the booth and vote straight rethuglican’t.

The proof is there with every single Tea Baggin Party. They don’t even know the definitions of socialist, Nazi, Communist, etc. They are always mixing up the words as if they are one and the same.

Your entire post hits it right on the head. These people are very confused. And the ones that purposely confused them are the ones with the power and money. Then they try to claim it’s all grassroots. It’s so bad, the people are protesting AND voting against their own self interests!

Keep government out of my Medicare? What a pathetic joke. No socialism and no taxes? What ever will they do when their house is on fire, or they are a victim of a crime, or have an auto accident and need an ambulance. The list is endless. What about the brave military men and women who defend the Constitution? Where do the Tea Baggers think all that money comes from?
Paved Streets?
Sewers?
Clean Water?
Schools?

Give me a break. Could you even imagine trying to have a half way intelligent conversation with one of these people?

26. If $arah retaliates, IMO, it would just backfire even more on her. She has too much to hide and she isn’t even close to being smart enough for damage control.
I’ve been reading the Alaskan blogs ever since her name was floated as McCain’s running mate. Palin’s damage control consists of yelling louder with extra lies added in.
I agree that they won’t reveal everything…….yet. In time, she is sure to piss off the very last one.
Her supporters seem like a lot to us because we cannot fathom how someone so hypocritical, narcissistic and stupid could actually have any. But in reality, there really aren’t a whole lot of them. Enough though, that the GOP feels as though they need to knock her down a few pegs. This should have happened years ago when she played too dirty running for City Council. I’m surprised it took this long.
McCain needs to just retire. If he just stayed of the Sunday news shows and shut up, that would be enough for me. But he does need to accept responsibility for unleashing Moosilinni and for all the divisive harm she has caused.
Palin is worse than Bush/Cheney. (God, I thought I’d never say that!)

27. “Expect to suddenly see a press performing “due diligence” on Ms Palin.”

Only wish this were true … even for Obama. The way they have targeted her and her family is sinful. Only the left doesn’t care about God. One day they will not only care, they will perish for it.

Only wish they would’ve done due diligence on their beloved B.H. Obama. Fat chance.

28. The Republicans have a “solid chance” of outing the democratic majority in the House and Senate? I want some of what you are smoking!!
While it’s true that tradition and past dictates that there is giveback to the minority party after big gains by the majority party, the fact that there is enough “giveback” for the dems to lose the House and Senate is about as possible as Sarah Palin actually being elected to a meaningful governmental position.

While the Republicans hope to win a few seats in the Senate, it is an uphill battle. The House looks a little better, but expect the Dems to lose maybe 3-5 seats at most.

It would be a major Republican Victory for tham to gain more than 3 seats in the Senate. What is more likely is that they will lose more seats.

The election is year away and lots can happen. But the Republicans winning, Sarah Palin, becoming a Republican standard bearer are less likely than flying pigs.

29. Your definition of “our” country and better candidates on both sides being in everyone’s best interest is the the key to our continued success as a world leader. Thank you for contributing those thoughts. It is every voting citizen’s duty to scrutinize and vet all candidates regardless of party affiliations.

30. John Birch doesn’t have anything to do with why Sarah isn’t going to CPAC. They just aren’t willing to pay her enough money.

P.S. Isn’t it fun when the Palinbtos come here and try to speak English?

31. …or Kant, or Locke, or even Rand to a Palinbot would be like an astrophysicist trying to explain Kepler’s laws of planetary motion at a NASCAR event. The Bots may get bits and pieces but at the end of the day it’s only gonna be about shiny objects going ’round and ’round really fast. Palinbots simply do not care about anything that disparages Sarah Palin. Especially if it is rooted in fact with easily researched links.
I’ve given up trying to reason with sycophants. Making fun of them is much more fun. When the truth is finally told…I’m gonna bust out the popcorn, crack open a cold beer and watch these wingnuts cover themselves with sackcloth and sit in ashes.

32. I am a teabagger. I totally understand where the money come from for paved streets, sewers, clean water and schools. The government. I understand that statements to keep government out of Medicare when Medicare is the government. I also understand that as long as we stand across the street throwing rocks at each other, the government wins. As for me I want the least amount of government in my life as I can tolerate. Right now, the government has to much control of every part of our lives. And with Obama as president it is getting worse every minute. So instead of coming together and finding a solution just keep up with this rock throwing and solve nothing. Do you know anything about the Constitution, it does not mean more government. Read it again.

33. I think it is wonderful that one women can cause so much fear in the hearts of so many. No one is perfect, when you come up with that person than we will know the world will end. What a bunch of frightened people. She must be closer than I originally thought to becoming a real force in the political arena. You only spit this much venon when you know someone is telling so much truth and willing to take all of this crap for America and her family. So funny, I am a teabagger and when I read your comments, Hate comes in all forms, Women are awful to each other, we should be finding out how we can help her or Hilary which ever you can trust. Choice one, but to spit out hate only shows your ignorance and fear of what you think either one can accomplish. Pity

34. HAHAHAHHA. crawl away, person bereft of good judgment and character. what public figure can endure more than 3-5 obviously blatant lies before they ruin their reputation permanently, thoroughly and forever? Good grief then theres the sheer magnitude of hypocrisy. I didnt see Chelsea Clinton get pregnant as a teenager even though her mom never ran on an ‘abstinence’ platform. I have the pictures from Levi Johnstone’s facebook page before it was scrubbed by the mccain campaign … 15 yos drinking jack Daniels while holding shotguns and pistols, sitting on the hood of cars. Her son was the largest oxycotin dealer in town and only went to Iraq because the judge sent him there, or prison. Deal with the truth man it will set you free. She simply is extremely dishonest, period. your words do not change that

35. I think you meant to say “ridicule” instead of “hate”.

I save my “venon” for people who have actual power.

36. She’s not a governor anymore. She couldn’ take it and quit. Remember? She hasn’t ever taken much from anyone and not completely freaked out, on a level totally disproportionate to the initial attack, real or imagined. I have a hard time believing she can handle Schmidt’s attack and respond with any level of class or grace. But maybe she will surprise me.

37. You are actually lying right there, to call her ‘governor’ is a pretty serious misstep since she is the only governor known to voluntarily quit her job, leaving her constituents in the lurch and costing them money. . Fit for your consumption only is your viewpoint. Anyone with a mind that doesnt happen to be yours will immediately regurgitate your drivel as poisonous. You have been brainwashed. It is actually a favor to Palin to not elect her as she would be torn apart immediately the second her gauntlet of protection dropped away. She knows this, which is why she is gone frm politics. palin just endured a small taste of what it is like on the global political circuit where every action, thought process and idea is laid bare for the entire globe to dissect, criticize and over-think. She would be consumed completely and utterly. What is so annoying is you dont have the cognitive horsepower to grasp this lady came form nowhere and nothing (executive experience? please. it is piddling and hodunk; she had other people doing the real heavy intellectual lifting) and revealed to the entire world that she is only steps from illiteracy, mentally lazy and intellectually shallow. She could hardly out-maneuver / debate a serious 16 year old political science student or history buff and would be eaten alive, to the point of being forced to leave the stage in tears. It is for her own good. what makes it so funny is that she is so stubborn, so hard-headed, so convinced of her own piddling genius that she sticks on it, diverting the truth, digging in deeper. She is desperate to maintain the semblance of finally being taken seriously as an intellectual. She wears it like a cheap perfume, the fact noone has ever taken her seriously for her mind. Compare her to Clinton and she immediately is revealed to be insubstantial and little more than window-dressing. We all have our place in life, our personal shortcomings and burdens. Those who refuse to accept theirs are the ones who make more and more trouble for themselves in life, and make other peoples lives hard. In her case, since it is on the national and global stage, it is just funny

38. Palin cant stand on her own intellectual feet dearheart, no matter what is happening with obama. this is called a ‘straw man’ tactic, a simple diversionary tactic used by those who lack real intellectual depth, which is needed to formulate a true alternative logical structure known as an argument. its like the repubs had all this nonsense to say about his economic recovery plan but never even came up with one themseves. no matter how it plays out, at least he is doing something besides robbing the poor and giving it to the rich to squander. I mean – letting the largest corporations not pay taxes over the last 12 years, even those profiting form the false war in iraq seems to have wacked our economy pretty good and ruined my country. exxon seems to be doing ok tho, and Xe as well. follow the profit margins if you want to know the truth. but you dont.

39. That you people still don’t get it. Of course no one is perfect. Trouble is…Sarah Palin thinks she is. This attitude is extremely well documented throughout her career by multiple, credible sources.
Fear her? Hardly. Outside of Wasilla she is a political clown. Even in Alaska at large, she is a laughing stock. You kooky teabaggers may have given her a little more political capital by applauding her (ghostwritten) Facebook statements…but that won’t last. Shoot, you folks are PAYING her 100 G’s to speak at your confrence! Really teabaggers?!? You’d think maybe your bright and shiny example of teabaggery might speak at your little rally because her values and principles.
Not so much.

40. Palin is a terrorist in a short skirt and bearing a wink and a Betcha. She is doing more damage to this country that any terrorist since 9/11.

About time someone spends some time looking up her record instead of look up her skirt. She is a liar and unethical.

41. What, exactly, does the government control in your life that you can’t tolerate and can you actually present an example of how your life has explicitly changed since Obama became president? You think you can support yourself with clean water, education, streets, and the myriad of other things they supply for your benefit? And what’s so bad about that, anyways?

Maybe you hate that the government keeps getting us involved in pointless wars that only do more to threaten our national security. That I can understand, but it’s a completely different topic and it has nothing to do with socialism, communism, or whatever else.

I’m going to go ahead and assume you’re going to bring up the economy (which was already headed for and well into disaster before Obama stepped foot in the White House) and National Health Care. I would really love to see how either of these topics have adversely affected your personal, everyday life in any way.

42. I dislike Sarah Palin to an extreme degree, but this article is just as bad as most of the crap I’ve seen the teabaggers pull. Your level of negativity and super aggressiveness is perfectly fine when you’re preaching to the choir, but it will instantly turn off anyone who’s not already on your side.

There’s a lot of people out there who like Palin because they don’t know any better, and the level of viciousness in anti-Palin articles allows them to go into the “liberal media be hatin'” shell.

So here’s my point:
The vast majority of the people willing to read and believe your article already know that Palin is a lying, corrupt scumbag – you’re not going to convert them, because they’re already there.
The people who /do/ like Palin aren’t going to read this because it’s so vicious. And they’re the ones to worry about.

The truth is simple: Sarah Palin is unfit to be president for a number of very clear, very obvious reasons; all the facts are on our side. But when you start using the fact there there are a lot of (unconfirmed) rumors about any politician to insinuate that they’re bad people, you lose. Rumors can be denied, even if they turn out to be a fact. (John Edwards)

I disagree with Palin supporters, but I don’t hate them. I know some of them are too ignorant and set in their ways to ever consider she isn’t a perfect princess, but there are loads of them that aren’t. I know this for a fact because I’ve had numerous conversations where I’ve convinced people she isn’t a good person to support.

But every single one of those conversations was conducted calmly, pleasantly, and based upon the assumption that they truly want someone good in office, but were misinformed about Palin being that person.
And every single piece of evidence I presented was a recorded fact, things I could actually show them if they asked, things they couldn’t explain away.

Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t, but I’m sure I never would have convinced a single person if I had gone in guns blazing, preemptively discounting their intelligence based on their support for Palin.

A lot of them are good people who are just plain misinformed.
It’s very hard to accept the fact that something you like is garbage. particularly when they’re hoping that garbage will make their country wonderful again.
So I would doubt they could ever be informed by an artical like this, because it’s so vicious – they’ll instantly start looking for holes in the arguement, and when you drag in unconfirmed rumors, like the question of the baby’s parents, you give them a hole as big as the gap between Palin’s ears.

Just think about it.

43. Oh, sweet jesus Palin defender…

It’s ONE womAn, with an A, not one womEn, with an E. The E makes it plural.

And it’s CHOOSE one, not CHOICE one. Choose is a verb, it denotes action. Choice is the result, the noun.

For the love of God, learn some dang basic English before you post here.

44. […] Jan. 11th, 2010 at 5:54 AM Palin's most powerful nemesis, McCain/Palin campaign strategist Steve Schmidt, will soon return the fire Palin unloaded on him from her book, %u201CGoing Rogue%u201D. Operation Palin Apocalypse officially commences Sunday night when Schmidt appears on 60 minutes. The only question remaining is how low will they go? This is the GOP after all. The paSource:http://politicususa.wpengine.com/en/node/7423 […]

45. by your usage of “asinine” I can only assume you have not taken me up on my reading list offer and hence your vocabulary is still limited to name calling and vulgar swear words.

You accuse me of making Trig Truther “allegations”.

I wrote that I wondered if they would GO THERE. I wondered if they would bring up the rumors. And there have been rumors, which started long before she was tapped for VP.

So, actually, you are incorrect. I did not make allegations of any sort. However, that is not to say that I wouldn’t, based on the evidence provided thus far.

It is my opinion that the question of Palin’s “WIld Ride” was never addressed and does not make any sense as told by her in numerous interviews and her book. I have never met a multi–para woman pregnant with a special needs baby who flew in her 7th month, got contractions and began leaking amniotic fluid in the middle of the night but then got up, gave a speech in the afternoon and then flew home- changing flights, and then drove for 2 hours by-passing the NICU at the larger hospital, to go to the Mat-Su valley hospital where Palin is a board member and her church runs, to “give birth” with a doctor who does not specialize in deliveries, let alone special needs deliveries.

Yeah, that just sounds OFF to me. How about you? It sounds to me as if she either endangered the welfare of her unborn child (and her own health as well as the other people on those flights) or it didn’t happen the way she says it did.

I would be INSANE to not question the legitimacy of Palin’s story. Palin is a proven pathological liar and someone who has been accused by multiple people (from Alaskan Republicans to national Republicans) of having mental health issues. Logic determines that if I have her word on one hand and a bunch of other people’s word on another, I will at least give equal weight to the other, if not MORE, given Ms Palin’s propensity for inaccurate statements. Furthermore, I know of Alaskans who saw her the week before she “gave birth” and she was flat as a board, according the them. There are videos of her looking flat as a board one week prior to giving birth. No one who saw her believed she was pregnant– and that is a quote from the ADN, which worships Palin.

Then there is the matter of how irresponsibly, if not abusively, she treats her child Trig — dragging him around this book tour, unclothed in the freezing cold, just to use him as a prop, as so much of her popularity rides on her “decision” to keep Trig. Trig is an adorable child– on this, we can all agree. But Down’s Syndrome babies are prone to heart troubles and infections- so why fly him all over the US? Why introduce him to the public at large day after day? Why not have his glasses on, which he needs at this stage of development?

Yes, I wonder if they will go there. They have the goods on her, I can assure you. They took all of the Johnston’s computers and scrubbed all of the photos of Palin, from her own parents even. They were hiding something, if not many things.

And by the way, this is about Palin, not Trig. Trig is not the one who ran for VP nor is Trig running for President in 2012 that I am aware of. This is about Palin, and the veracity of her character. A legitimate question of any candidate or even political player who attempts to sway our policies in the way Palin does.

She is not a queen; she is not my God. She was a political candidate and is now a political commentator, who endangers the welfare of millions of Americans who need healthcare right now by spreading deliberate lies about the healthcare bill, while hiding behind her Facebook page and still refusing to be interviewed by anyone other than Fox News. Questions will be asked.

I have to wonder what kind of monsters watched Trig out in the snow with no shoes or hat or sweater on, and did NOTHING. Of course, mommy was all bundled up.

Yes, I have to wonder. And for the record, that isn’t “Pro-life”. That’s Pro-Prop. Using babies to the point of endangering their health to make an ideological point is beyond all decency.

46. With the announcement of Palin joining Fox, half the liberals in America will have heartburn for the next 3 years or until she is elected…
As with Michael Jordan, you could not control him, you could only hope to contain him. So it is with Palin. The more liberal droppings y’all fly around and dump on her, the more you endear her to all of the independents who were fooled and helped you elect Obozo. They are flocking to her, they are flocking to common sense. Her persona is uncontainable….

47. “Do you know anything about the Constitution, it does not mean more government. Read it again.”

Understanding the Constitution does not only require reading it, it also requires understand the context that the Constitution was created in. Prior to the Constitution, we had a confederacy with strong states and a weak central government. The result of a confederacy was a poorly cohesive country with a Congress that accomplished even less than the one we currently have. The inevitable result would have been no “United States of America” but rather each state serving independently as their own country, with the possibility of states going to war with each other among other problems. It was this dysfunction that motivated our founding fathers to retire the Articles of Confederation and write up the Constitution, which resulting in the U.S. switching from a confederacy to a federal system of government, a strong central government. You understand that? The Constitution actually GREW national government.

48. Sarah Palin is NO LONGER GOVERNOR. Another facet of her totally in denial “followers” – they keep addressing her as “governor palin”. WHY?

Could it be that you – and you all know who you are – hate the idea that she QUIT that job and hence has no title in reality? She is just like you in the real world. You know. Title-less. Just another media-made person who is unlike most of you in this respect: she is RABID in ambition for power. Not to be “like you”, but only to SELF-SERVE through use of people “like you”. I assume you love to hate the truth here.

When you finally wake up from your hysteria over this empty woman who only uses you, your pocketbooks will be emptier and so will your lives. Why is it apparently so so so hard for you palin lovers to come to grips with TRUTH? I believe it is a grave character flaw that is totally infantile. In a word: you lack full maturity that human beings are supposed to possess who are fully mentally and physically grown. You are “dividers” and like your other rotten choice for president, definitely not “deciders”. You all are a case for the psychiatrists couch and that is a very sad commentary on being such “patriotic” american’s.

Alaskans like myself who actually were born in Alaska & raised there KNOW that most of the people who are now citizens of this state are lower 48 transplants. Just like the Heath’s (Sarah Heath Palin).

I’ll bet that most of you don’t know that the federal government wanted the Matanuska (Athabascan name) Valley where Wasilla(another Athabascan Indian name) is located, populated (lured) with whites from the lower 48 and gave away lots of land to those who would come and replace our Athabascan peoples who were the original citizenry already there and whose livelihood was sustained there for a few ice ages. You can get up off your lazy butts and do the research yourself. The Heath family are not indigenous to Alaska. Transplants from Missouri to Idaho to Alaska. Good ole boy people. The kind your Palin gal claimed she would be “mavericky” and get rid of as her campaign foundation. Another crock of BS. She is as good ole boy as they come. Just like you all lovers of her come across as. Point being your sarah is as phony and deranged as you are and like I said, now title-less. There is so much you do not know about Sarah and her so-called love for Alaska and Alaskans. For starters, pathological liar. But I digress. I forget how much you love being lied to.

I firmly believe, having met so many of you who are so juvenile in understanding and infantile in your pet beliefs to the points of hysteria – I firmly believe that you will NEVER see sarah palin for who and what she really is: very very cunning, sly, thoroughly dishonest with the most charming presentation of that dishonesty and actually underneath, where you will not be invited to see, a mentally disturbed person. My observations and belief. You’ve been told over and over by those who know. It is apparent to me that you have no depth of discernment and will never be comfortable or accept truths that are blatantly in your face. Really. And do not forget that where there is smoke there is fire. Do you get that?

There is so much more to this story.

Sarah Palin did not become instantly famous and now wealthy on her own merits and accomplishments. She left the state of Alaska in a chaos of disarray, disillusionment and less rich than it was before her pretense at governing. Hype Hype Hype. Thank your greedy, rabid and lying media and an old man’s ambitious but losing battle for his own power grab. It is my belief, opinion and observation that the person of sarah palin was never qualified for major leadership. As that bible so many of you hypocritically claim as your so-called christian foundation says “you will know them by their fruits…” . And another quote especially for Sarah Palin who loves to proclaim the powers of her “prayers” and so-called love of God, from again, that good Book, I will paraphrase from the book of Proverbs that there are “prayers that are detestable” to God… take heed Sarah and blind followers. Then, start addressing Sarah as EX governor.
