Rush Limbaugh Blames Health Care Reform for the Volcanic Eruption in Iceland
Rush has blown his last brain cell with this one.

On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh blamed the volcanic eruption in Iceland on the passage of health care reform in the United States. While talking about Obama’s claims that health care reform has not brought about Armageddon, Limbaugh said, “I think the Earth may have opened up. God may have replied.” God is punishing Europe for the health care bill in America.

Here is the audio courtesy of Media Matters:

Limbaugh said, “You know a couple of days after the health care bill was signed Obama was walking around saying hey you know I am looking around the Earth hasn’t opened up, no Armageddon out there the birds are still chirping. I think the Earth may have opened up. God may have replied. This volcano in Iceland has grounded more airplanes. Air space has been more affected than even after 9/11 because of this plume, because of this ash cloud.”

Rush Limbaugh has now thrown any bit on sanity that he had left out of the window. Let’s play along here for a second and ask ourselves, if God really was angry about the passage of health care reform, probably because there is a man power shortage in heaven, why would he punish the more socialistic countries in Europe for the passage of a watered down health care bill that contains no nationalization, in the United States?

You would think that if God had enough to even care about domestic policy in the United States, and he was really mad, he might, oh, I don’t know, punish the United States and not Europe. This is all part of Limbaugh’s rampant Obama paranoia. He is now blaming Barack Obama’s policies for natural disasters on other continents. What’s next Obama’s allowing of same sex couple hospital visits caused the Chinese earthquake? This is the kind of farcical nonsense that the right wing’s hatred of Obama has driven them to.

  1. Wow, wouldn’t it be great to have a job where you could just say anything, I mean ANYTHING you wanted???

BOSS: Where are those reports, McGillicuddy?!

McGillicuddy: Uh, sorry boss, but there was a volcanic eruption in Iceland and I couldn’t see my keyboard!!

  2. Somebody needs to check his facts. When Flush said that “Air space has been more affected than even after 9/11 because of this plume, because of this ash cloud.” I’d like to see an actual analysis on that one.

Flush Limpballs has long been known to hang any shred of decency, rationality, decorum, and restraint on a hook outside the studio door whenever he starts his show – I sometimes think somebody took them down, threw them in the trashcan along with the Constitution, and he’s never noticed their absence.

  3. @Conservative Heart, if Rush were god why would he be speaking about himself in the third person?

And if Rush were god why would he “not know” why Iceland was picked instead of ~amurrka~?

  4. Rush is just such an idiot! How he gets paid the amount of money he does for such nonsensical utterances is beyond me.

  5. @Conservative Heart,
Sweetie, darling. It’s the Blind leading the ignorant. Because he says it, it’s true. That’s what they said about the Whako from Whaco! You need to think for yourself.
ICELAND HAS FREE HEALTH CARE like most of Europe. They take care of their citizens. We throw ours away. Socialist and Communists treat their citizens better. How have you been treated lately? These Tea Party folks paying your medical bills?

  6. This is my first time here, and it’s good to see both sides commenting, though the conservatives seem to believe everything they’re told rather than thinking and finding out for themselves. That’s scary. LIke Nightmare on Elm St. scary. Are people really that ignorant. I want to know how many Tea Party followers have College degrees.
Stipulations: 1) Must have been IN CLASS degrees, not Online; 2) Must have been obtained in reasonable amount of time- 4 yrs.- 5 yrs. for a Bachelor’s and 1-3 years for a Master’s; 3) From an accredited University/College; 4) Not to exceed 2 different schools for the duration of education attainment.
Who’s got the list??? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

  7. This is funny. You liberals look so hard for anything, no matter how trite, to attack conservatives you can’t even tell when your chains are being jerked. Kind of like a feeding frenzy when slop is thrown into the waters. Come on liberals. We only go around once. Get a sense of humor.

  8. Sarcasm… look it up in the dictionary if you own one. Parody… that’s another one to look up. That Media Matters actually thinks this is a story tells you all you need to now about its value. That would be zero in case you think I mean otherwise.

  9. It’s not really that funny, Mike. See, this guy Limbaugh makes his money by provoking people just like you. He’s a multi millionaire. Are you even a multi-thousandaire? This guy and all his talk radio cohorts could care less about you and what the government does to or for you. If you think Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity or Bill O’Reilly are patriots, you’ll find that patriotism is often the refuge of scoundrels.

  10. Interesting that Limbaugh is in accord with Fred Phelps and the Westboro church on issues like this. And I thought Westoboro was pretty much on its own in its degree of lunacy.

  11. @Educated&Black, my government is taking more and more of my hard earned money to pay for freeloaders, taht’s how my government is taking care of me. Our forefathers set up this governemnet to help with the common good not for wealth redistribution!

  12. @Mike,
Oh Mike, I’ve always known everything Limbaugh says is a big fat joke. Now if only you could convince your fellow travelers of that.

  13. @nikolai,
You could also say you were afraid to anger God if you did so, that you have to meditate before taking any decision, given the recent consequences.

  14. @Educated&Black,
I’m guessing a lot of them do. I teach college, and a degree is no guarantee of critical thinking, much as I wish it were.

  15. @, What do you suppose “the common good” means? You? Me? Corporations? Or…I dunno… everyone?

  16. @princetrumpet, In that case, please let us know when Rush is serious. Whenever he says something patently stupid–and that happens a lot–his followers dismiss it as satire.

  17. I thought he said he was going to leave the country if Health Care Reform passed. What’s he still doing here?

  18. The President signs the bill, then a few days later claims that the earth did not open . . .

Not long after part of the earth opens, and Rush says, “Hey Barry, Look, It opened!”

Anyone who thinks there is more to it than this is humor impaired.

  19. @lisid,
He is waiting for the liberals who were leaving if GW bush was re-elected to go first. He will leave right after them.
