Glenn Beck Calls on the Tea Party to Indoctrinate Children

These are the kinds of values that Beck and Freedomworks want to teach

Remember when Glenn Beck got all outraged last September and claimed that President Obama was indoctrinating children with his back to school speech last September? Well, on his radio show today, Beck explained why the right must indoctrinate their children, “We must view our children as clay pots. We must look at them as the place to put our scared documents into them.”

Here is the audio courtesy of Media Matters:

While reading an ad for sponsor FreedomWorks, Beck urged his listeners to join with Dick Armey’s corporate Tea Party front group, “Look, we can not get into bed with enemies. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend, but if they have many of the same tendencies, many of the same things that they are striving for, as long as they are also not an enemy, we need to join together we need to link.”

Beck then talked about the need to reset history by indoctrinating children, “I am tonight starting out on a journey that is going to take us really solely into history. I’ve got to reset history. We’ve got to learn this. We must view our children as clay pots. We must look at them as the place to put our scared documents into them, and the sacred universal truths of America into our children, and we’re going to work as hard as we can as fast as we can.” Beck then went into full paid shill mode and discussed the “political successes” of Freedom Works. (My guess is that he was not referring to their total failure on healthcare reform).

If you strip away all of the talk of clay pots and sacred documents, what Beck was discussing the indoctrination of children. He wants to embed the values of the Tea Party and the far right into children, because he doesn’t want children just to learn about the Constitution, but he wants them to adopt the fractured right wing interpretation of the Constitution, which sounds an awful lot like the same type of indoctrination that he accused Obama of last September.

Here is Beck accusing Obama of using his back to school speech to indoctrinate children:

Beck said, “We have been working for a couple of weeks on a special one hour broadcast, next Tuesday on television on the indoctrination of your children and we put it on that Tuesday because of Barack Obama speaking on that Tuesday. Gang, you have a system that is wildly, wildly out of control, and they are capturing your kids.”

The people on the far right are so far gone that they are willing to indoctrinate future generations to carry on their political jihad with the goal of imposing their ideology on to every American. What is happening here is a consolidation of resources. The corporate Astroturf of FreedomWorks is now unifying with the minister of propaganda Glenn Beck. A machine is being constructed with the goal of winning at the ballot box, and taking America in an extreme right wing direction, and they have no problem with using indoctrination to create future right wing warriors.

  1. Jason, it may have been a simple typo when you wrote “We must look at them as the place to put our scared documents into them” instead of “…sacred documents…” but I think scared documents makes more sense…

  2. This is really comical! But all Glenn Beck is doing is voicing what we already know that the far right does. It’s up to the rest of us to prevent that from happening to our own children. I swear, if I didn’t know that Beck and Palin were born a day apart, I would swear they were separated at birth. I see the same obstinate anti-intellectualism and the same pride in ignorance. They are in cahoots with those trying to produce a nation of passive, non-thinking sheep who will vote against their own best interests without question.

  3. This is akin to teaching kids to be suicide bombers. Political indoctrination that will fail as the kids grow into real people and discover that the world isn’t the way their parents taught them.

Once they come out of the 5th century and into the world they will not thank Beck. The US that is recoiling from the proposed Texas system wont buy into this one

  4. isn’t it funny how Glenn Beck is so worried about Pres. Obama indoctrinating the kids and yet he wants to do exactly the very same thing?

isn’t Glenn Beck one of the tea party loyalists that wants to go back to the Constitution and yet he is casting innuendo about filling out the census which is a constitutional thing and a citizen’s responsibility? Evidently Mr. Beck is against proper representation

isn’t it strange when Beck mentioned several times about get them while they were young and then advocates the very same thing?

Glenn Beck is right about one thing though, your children are under attack. Especially if you live in Texas

  5. @Shiva,

Man oh man, you are everywhere!

    The proposed Texas system? lol

You really believe the shit you preach don’t you?

I thought you were just a bumbling idiot.

  6. @Knuckledragger,

  7. @Allen S., I have lived in Texas all my life. We have behaved like idiots. Last year, my daughter’s school was not allowed to watch President Obama’s speech to schoolchildren, although my son’s class was addressed by then President Bush. When I was in school, I remember my Texas history teacher explaining how the South lost the Civil War only because the North had better equipment and how slavery wasn’t really a major issue. Now, her school books will make sure to reflect my teacher’s sentiments.. I find it highly ironic that Palin and Glenny love to tell their ignorant followers how the LEFT is brainwashing our children!
