Palin To Head to Jacksonville to Spread More Faux Feminist Propaganda

Palin Pitchin' Her Patriarchal Feminism

Palin Pitchin' Her Patriarchal Feminism

Sarah Palin joins her next endorsee, John Thrasher, St. Augustine, Florida state senator and chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, to headline a Jacksonville fundraiser on August 26. They’re using their star power to raise money for Heroic Media, “a faith-based non-profit that reduces abortion by creating a Culture of Life through television, billboard and internet advertising which connects women in crisis with life-affirming pregnancy centers.†Yikes. Sounds kind of seven mountain-ish propaganda to me, but OK.

Hey, relax because Heroic Media is also endorsed by such notorious feminists as:

— Bill O’Reilly, Host of “The O’Reilly Factor” and Author:
“Confrontation is one way to deal with problems. To make inroads with abortion, Heroic Media’s positive plan is the right plan.â€

— Most Reverend Gregory M. Aymond, Archbishop, Diocese of New Orleans:
“I was very much impressed by the Heroic Media television spots…I certainly appreciate and understand the need for a wider audience and the ecumenical and inter-religious dimension that they appeal to. I whole-heartedly support Heroic Media and their efforts.â€

— Col. Oliver North, Combat Decorated U.S. Marine, Author and Correspondent for Fox News:
“The message is so powerful the medium so pervasive that it may be the only chance some young woman, or even some young man, may have to get it right. Pray for Heroic Media. Pray for those who are going to go out and do their best to put together a commercial that is going to lead a young woman to make the right decision…â€

All of that feminism and the glass ceilin’ shatterin’ is just so gosh-darn inspiring! Cough. Maybe we should veer off the Heroic Media website to take a gander at these folks when they’re not giving testimonials for propaganda, eh? Because, remember, when Palin, or any modern day Republican says feminist, it can mean a lot of things. In this case, it means a sexual harasser, a protector and enabler of a multiple-offending child molester, and a betrayer of America.

Bill O’Reilly, Fox News host and sexual harasser in the infamous falafel scandal, as quoted in a sexual harassment suit filed against him by a Fox News producer, 2004:
“So anyway I’d be rubbing your big b**bs and getting your nipples really hard, kinda’ kissing your neck from behind…and then I would take the other hand with the falafel thing and I’d just put it on your p***y but you’d have to do it really light, just kind of a tease business…”

Gregory M. Aymond, Archbishop and protector of child abuser, as quoted by NOLA.com:
“Asked about a 1999 case in which a man told Aymond and other church authorities that Brian Matherne, a coach at Sacred Heart School in Norco, had for years molested his son, who was then 24. Aymond and other officials tried unsuccessfully to speak to the young man, and failing to do so, left the coach in his job for months after receiving the complaint. The youth later told his story to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office; Matherne was arrested and later pleaded guilty to molesting 17 youths over a period of 15 years.

Shortly after his appointment as archbishop, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests issued a statement claiming Aymond only “postures as someone who takes clergy sex crimes seriously.”

Col. Oliver North, Fox News correspondent and decorated Marine, but also convicted of three felonies associated with Iran Contra, which were later vacated:
“The good Lord gave me eight grandchildren, and I am convinced that through schools like Desert Christian that we are going to overwhelm the adversaries, not just with bombs and bullets, but with the demonstration of Christian principles.†Sorta seems like Olie might have another agenda for wanting to deny women access to abortions, eh? Building a Christian army and all of that, which is fine, but it’s not the same as having a true moral concern for women or babies.

Wow. That’s a rose that smells to high heaven. “Heroic Media”, huh? I’m not seeing the heroism.

Perhaps by “heroic”, they mean media used as propaganda. Media where no one asks any questions. Media being used to sell a lie to girls and vulnerable women. Gosh, I’m gettin’ all teared up again, just thinking about the cast of feminist characters behind this. A church-sanctioned protector of a serial child molester, a Fox News sexual harasser, and three time convicted felon (later vacated) all agree with Palin’s view of feminism. That sure is comforting.

I feel a rising up of pink elephants in my gut and it’s not pretty.

It should go without saying that we all strive to reduce abortions, but the way that’s proven to accomplish this is through sex education and availability of birth control. In the end, a woman has to have the right to make a choice for herself. It’s simply not feasible to legislate morality, and its highly hypocritical for people who also stand for not supporting unwed mothers to try to manipulate girls and women into what these people deem “the right decision”.

One hopes the Palin touch is worth a bit more for Thrasher than it turned out to be in red state Georgia for Palin pick Karen Handel, who lost her primary days ago. Incumbent Thrasher is taking on Republican Dr. Charles Perniciaro in the primary and the winner will fight Democrat Deborah Gianoulis in this Republican leaning district.

Per Palin’s contract, there’s no word how much she’s being paid to pal around with the Heroic Media crowd, but it’s not her first venture with them.

While Palin is down there, maybe she can take her Mama Grizzly feminism and help raise some money for battered women, since Florida is having a surge of domestic violence right now. How about it, Sarah? Put your money where your mouth is, so to speak.

They say you can judge a person by the company they keep. If that’s the case, we know everything we need to know about Sarah Palin. This isn’t feminism. It’s propaganda 101, and its goal has nothing to do with further empowering women.
