Fox News Admits Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally Was Political

Just like a compulsive liar who can’t keep their facts straight, Fox News slipped up again today by admitting something that everyone already knew; Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally was political. On Fox and Friends Andrew Napolitano said, “Glenn Beck assembles the largest gathering in political history the largest political gathering in 40 years.”

Here is the video courtesy of Media Matters:

While defending the Tea Party and Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally Andrew Napolitano said, “You know I have been to many, many of these gathering, and many of them I have spoken, at all of them I have walked through these crowds. The crowds are enormous. You can find an oddball in any crowd of that magnitude, but think about it. Five years ago the Tea Party did not exist as a national movement. Three years ago the big party progressives, big government progressives of both parties laughed at it. Now, Glenn Beck assembles the largest gathering in American history, the largest political gathering in the last 40 years, and now the Left is worried, and we’re two months from a midterm election.”

Just when you thought the clueless Fox and Friends crew might have caught on, host Steve Doocy later added this “clarification”:

Doocy said, “Earlier Judge Napolitano was on the program and said that the Glenn Beck rally was the largest political rally, but you know what, there were a couple of other biggies, like the pro-choice march for women’s lives in 2004, nearly one million people gathered for that, so we just wanted to clarify.” Wait a minute. Beck was saying this whole time that the rally wasn’t political, that it was to raise money for charity, according to the event’s official website the rally was non political, “Join the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and many more for this non-political event that pays tribute to America’s service personnel and other upstanding citizens who embody our nation’s founding principles of integrity, truth and honor.’

I guess since the rally is over, notice how Fox News is still working to keep the tall tale crowd estimates alive, everyone feels more comfortable telling the truth about a rally that featured no progressive or Democratic speakers, a divisive 2012 Republican presidential candidate (Sarah Palin), a member of a conservative think tank and far right anti-choice activist (Alveda King), a Fox News host (Beck), and was sponsored by conservative groups like Freedom Works was in fact political.

Only a true moron could have ever believed Beck for a second that this rally was not designed to be political. Of course, it was political. Any event that features Beck and Palin will be political. The event was attended by Tea Party activists, not Middle America as people like Napolitano like to claim. Interestingly enough Fox News seems genuinely terrified of the Tea Party Tracker, because it is all that the network has been talking about for the past three days. They that afraid that by monitoring the Tea Party, the rest of America will soon see that they are nothing more than the far right wing of the Republican Party with a new name.

Either Judge Napolitano let it slip when he stated the true purpose of the rally, or he was just stating an obvious fact, which was later backed up by Doocy’s “clarification.” Doocy in fact, did clarify that Beck’s rally was political, and they both let out of the bag, the worst kept secret in politics. Either way, you can be certain that the brainwashed masses of Fox News viewers will continue to call the rally non political, even when presented with evidence from their own network that it wasn’t.

  1. FoxNews slips up again? Shocking. Beck’s rally was political? Shocking. What is depressing and REALLY SHOCKING is people actually BELIEVE both FoxNews and Beck and Palin and everyone else on the GOP side.

How can people who are so un-American and so communist and so full of hate and racism be taken seriously!?!? I hope come November, the GOP will be shut out and shut down. I doubt it…but I REALLY am going to pray they get shut down.

  2. Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! ah….not so much. I find it difficult to believe anyone was fooled outside of the Republican base, since they’ll believe anything their corporate masters tell them to believe.

  3. I guess they missed Obama’s inauguration. Beckk’s rally was a farce and a failure. I mean even Sarah was there, and they still had a lot of green showing throughout the area. And that’s not counting some of the tourist who had no idea what was going on, and some protesters.

  4. Nice try Jason, I was there on 8-28 and I have seen large crowds before. There were at least 300k people there, probably closer to Becks number of 500k. The rally was not political at all. I challenge anyone here to quote any speech on that stage that day that was even remotely political. The ground were covered from the Lincoln Memorial to the Washington monument. The grassy areas were not all covered due to wet conditions that were roped off! Unlike the Inaguration of the 44th president, when it was over there was not trash covering the grounds. From the pics you can see that people are packed in the trees because the older people wanted to stay out of the sun. I would guess that at least 30% were minorities and appx 10 % were African American. You do the math. There were zero arrests. I stayed at the Hilton Garden inn on 14th st @ $170.00 a night. The valet said that he had never seen so many people there that were so polite. A mile away Al Sharpton had a rally on the same day. His message, “We won’t be happy until there are caskets rolling thru the streets of the enemy”. Who’s the enemy? Rich white people! Yea, Glenn beck is the racist! Oh and Jason, he may have been wearing the vest due to all of the death threats to himself and his family. You should really research events before you comment on them!
