When You’re Sarah Palin, Reality Bites

Palin wrestles reality

I was having a great day today, all chilling out and lovin’ life, when I ran smack dab into Sarah Palin’s twitter bunker wherein she claims she never, ever told O’Donnell to speak only to Fox News. Sarah is super mad at the “lame stream media†and is askin’ them super nice like to “report the truthâ€, like the troops are over in the Iraq fightin’ for.

She called out two lame stream media outlets specifically: The Hill and CQ Politics. She doesn’t reference which articles, but a search of the sites brings up:

The Hill:

“Some wondered upon host Bob Schieffer’s initial Saturday announcement that she wouldn’t appear on CBS’s “Face the Nation” whether she was following Palin’s advice — given during an appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor” last week — to “speak through Fox” instead of other networks.”

But, but….I just wrote about that interview and since there was no transcript, I had to listen to it for half an hour over and over and over again (please send money for rehab).

She did actually say those exact words in her Fox O’Reilly interview and again, on twitter from her Blackberry, which has been established via spelling/grammatical errors to be the Real Palin typing, instead of one of the hired hands who writes her Facebook policy screeds (aka: a bunch of bumper stickers glued together with some fibs).

And CQ Politics actually quoted Palin verbatim in their Political Quote of the Day section:

Speak through Fox News.”

— Sarah Palin, quoted by the Wilmington News Journal, advising U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell (R) not to appear on television except for Fox.

Ben Smith notes O’Donnell is taking the advice and abruptly canceled an appearance on Face the Nation.”

Here’s Palin via Twitter:

“The Hill: get it right, please; I did NOT tell O’Donnell to only speak to Fox News. Where do u all get this stuff? Pls report truth. Thanks about 3 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®â€

Where do they get this stuff? Well, honey, it’s kinda from the words you say. Words: a tool of communication. Here in this country, we speakenze English, though we look forward to your new language after you secede us from ourselves, and we will all be happily speaking Palinese – a language, I hear, that has no word for “realityâ€.

And Palin on Twitter to O’Donnell:

“C. O’Donnell strategy: time’s limited;use it 2 connect w/local voters whom you’ll be serving vs appeasing nat’l media seeking ur destruction about 5 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®â€

Gosh, don’t speak with national media because to do so is to “appease†them (which infers they are the enemy) seeking Christine’s destruction. But, no, that doesn’t sound much like “don’t talk to media except through Fox”.

And Palin’s second tweet calling out a lame stream media outlet for reporting the truth:

“CQ Politics – c’mon guys, get it right. No one told Christine to only speak to FOX news. C’mon now, print truth. Thanks very much. 2:20 PM Sep 18th via Twitter for BlackBerry® â€

Again, with the reality thing…..OK, maybe Palin doesn’t trust reading her own tweets as proof that she did say and mean this. Maybe moving pictures would be more helpful:

And to refresh her memory, here’s the transcript:

“Palin: I grant you that. No, I grant you that. She’s gonna have to learn very quickly to dismiss what her handlers want. Remember what happened to me in the VP, remember I used to have sneak in, to make my phone calls, to say hey –

O’Reilly:– I know, I remember getting a call from you at 11 o’clock on a Sunday night, I thought it was a prank call but it was you –I know, I know exactly –

Palin: She’s gonna have to learn that quickly, go with her gut, get out there, speak to the American people, speak through Fox news and let the….speak to the independents who are tuning in to you, let them know what it is that she stands for, the principles behind her positions.”

So, yeah. She did actually suggest that O’Donnell should speak through Fox news to reach America. And if that wasn’t enough, she then suggested in a tweet that to speak to other media outlets would be “appeasing” them.

See, it’s not cool when the media is accurate because it throws tons of hot water on Palin’s narrative that the media (save Fox where the message control is tight) can’t be trusted. And if the media gets it right, then they just might be right about a number of Palin lies…and we can’t have that. That’s what “autobiographies†are for; to disseminate information through the filter of distorted reality which best serves said grifter. Doh!

Please, people, just take Sarah’s word for once! She says she didn’t say it and so kindly refrain from showing the youtubes and using the googles, which you know are a liberal plot to destroy the universe anyway. Get you some man pants, stop being so limp, and tell a lie with some oomph, you gutless impotents!

Conservatives for Palin are really mad about these smears of their Queen, so just be prepared. Because, see, until now, Americans really thought Palin was a) honest b) moderate and c) a common sense conservative who was gonna bring back “constitutional solutions” (but apparently not the fourth estate’s responsiblity to be the citizen’s watch dog). She would surely never suggest that a political candidate only speak through Fox News lest they “appease” the enemy. Darn you, you liars!

And anyway, what’s so wrong with a politician who is employed by a “fair and balanced†network telling another politician to only speak on said employer’s network? I mean, it’s not like this is propaganda. This is clearly the only trustworthy, unbiased news source on the planet. Man up or Sarah will throw some canned goods at ya’, scream “you’re lucky to have me!†and then ask Levi to show her how to operate that gun under her bed.

I wish y’all would take Sarah’s advice via her new book and just report “by the heart” instead of the facts. This is gettin’ super old. Feelings trump reality any day. Just ask the Tea Party.
