Christine O’Donnell Casts a Spell and Morphs into Nixon

Christine O'Donnell CREW

CNN managed to track down Christine O’Donnell for a minute to ask her about CREW’s heavily documented allegations that she is a crook. When asked if she was a crook, O’Donnell went part Bill Clinton and part Richard Nixon by answering, “I am positive we have been ethical. I personally have not misused campaign funds.”

Melanie Sloan, CREW’s Executive Director said, “Christine O’Donnell is clearly a criminal, and like any crook she should be prosecuted. Ms. O’Donnell has spent years embezzling money from her campaign to cover her personal expenses. Republicans and Democrats don’t agree on much these days, but both sides should agree on one point: thieves belong in jail not the United States Senate.”

In their complaint with both the FEC and the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office CREW accused O’Donnell of, “Using campaign funds for personal living expenses. By misusing campaign funds, Ms. O’Donnell committed the crime of conversion; by lying about her expenditures on forms she filed with the FEC, she committed false statements; and by failing to include the campaign funds she misappropriated as income, she committed tax evasion.”

Those are some serious charges, and one would think that the invisible O’Donnell would have pretty strong reply, but when CNN caught up with her, she did what every modern Republican does, she attacked the credibility of the source, “Why are you listening to a liberal organization in the first place?” Apparently O’Donnell has never heard of the non-partisan CREW which targets corruption among Democrats like Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters, and conservatives like Mitch McConnell and John Ensign.

Okay, so the whole smearing CREW thing didn’t work, what else does she have? It is at this point where O’Donnell got all Bill Clinton, it all depends on what the definition of is is by saying, “I am positive we have been ethical. I personally have not misused campaign funds.” We? There is no, “we” here, Christine. The allegations are against you. It is pretty clear that O’Donnell is about to pull a page from the Sarah Palin playbook and blame the nearest fall guy or gal.

While media is distracted by the shiny shiny witchcraft video, they are missing the real story here. Christine O’Donnell is yet another right wing grifter who has attached herself to the easy marks of the Tea Party. O’Donnell is a special level of corrupt. She is a real amateur though as most of the classic Republican criminals from Dick Cheney to Richard Nixon at least had enough savvy to cover up their crimes. O’Donnell is a small time pick pocket who managed to lift a platinum card. These allegations are not baseless. The sworn affidavits disprove that, and Christine O’Donnell really has no defense against these charges, and it would be fitting if her grift to riches story concluded with her behind bars.

  1. She pulled a double Palin with the royal “we” and the “we” meaning, some is going to be the scapegoat for my actions.

What is so sad is reading the Tea Party on Twitter saying they love what she stands for. Really, Tea Party? Really? This is the best you got? Candidates who hide from the media and have dubious records and extremist positions they deliberately hide from the voters.

  2. I guess the Teabaggers consider O’Donnell the human embodiment of trickle down economics. Thanks on the Sarah Palin catches. Nobody does it like you. Sarah Jones, you belong on MSNBC, and my campaign to get you there will only grow stronger every day.

  3. They go after both Republicans and Democrats. This is a fact. At any rate, it doesn’t matter, because they have evidence of O’Donnell’s criminal behavior.

I find it odd that Republicans will believe Breitbart videos long after they’ve been proven to be lies (and he’s certainly partisan) and yet they refuse to believe any information that comes from a source which has not been impugned. It’s as if Republicans don’t care at all about the truth.

  4. This seems fitting for someone who is unemployed and has a history of not paying her bills and lying about her college degree which she didn’t manage to get until this summer.

  5. CREW is a George Soros funded organization….I’m sure that anything funded by this guy is a non-partisan group. Right…come up with another one.

  6. Truth and facts really don’t matter to “sheeple”. It is the herd mentality that drives them, followed closely by MOB rule. You know, it only takes one to spook the whole herd into a stampede, sometimes even off cliffs to their own detriment or deaths! These people, with minimum research, could see through the fog of disinformation and see that they are being played the FOOL. But they seem to like their position, some kind of political S&M fetish, I guess! Like the President said during the 08 campaign,” it’s as if they take pride in being IGNORANT”! Sad,but so true.

Anybody else with ties to Wiccan Worship, would be terrorized by these same people that just love Christine O”Donnell and Sarah Palin. I guess the easiest way to explain the Teabagging/Republicans is by their demonstrated behavior; DO AS I SAY-NOT AS I DO, as the deceit continues!!! Vote for me and I’ll set you free, and give you your country back. With (back>) being the operatve word. I’m glad I’m not a RETRO-NIT-WIT ! After all,the past seems always safer than the future, because there were those that braved that “unknown” before we came here! But here we are, still moving forward, not BACK- WARD! There should be a lesson in that fact alone!

  7. you must consider that your source is also possibly biased. The evidence in reality points to the fact that it is. If you look at CREW’s record they go after both parties equally.

  8. The fact that there are more corrupt politicians who are Republicans doesn’t mean the media is biased. It’s just reality.

  9. I can imagine that not one the posters here defending O’Donnell with misinformation would refuse to fund her campaign, buy a book a ghostwriter authors for her, or pay to attend an event where she would be appearing. Their bias is partisan, and based on the idea that the world is against them for one reason or another. Some truth about one of their politicians is revealed? Their solution is simple: use the word liberal in a sneering and derisive manner, throw in a little George Soros, Saul Alinsky, Reverend Wright, , Marxism, fascism, socialism, Nazism, etc, and viola! the answer pops up: their conclusion is that they can’t accept any revelation as truth unless it comes from a member of the rw, and Glen Beck and Pox is the only fair, balanced, and accurate network on Planet Earth. LOL

These are the kinds of people who would come into my classroom to inquire why their kid was failing U.S. History, blame it on me and/or the school, and ignore all of the zeros in the grade book showing he/she failed to prepare for quizzes and tests, failed to complete projects he/she’d had 4 weeks to complete, slept and/or talked in class constantly, was very uncooperative, and refused to complete class assignments in , etc. The parents would then turn around and request a “do over” for their kids. The zeros didn’t matter. The extra work I had to do didn’t matter. That the kid would usually turn in an incomplete project didn’t matter. No attempt was ever made to make the kid accept responsibility for his/her failure. And they assigned no blame to themselves for failing to access the student’s grades online or to attend open house events and/or come to the school on conference days.

Many of the tea party members do the same thing. They wanted O’Donnell, and they got her, but now that it’s been revealed that she broke the law, the fault lies with CREW and the “liberal media.” Forget all about their failure to properly vet her. That’s not an important factor in her running for Congress. That these folks think they are America’s “conscience”, and that their beliefs represent “what the majority of Americans want” is ludicrous. I don’t want corrupt liars and hypocrites anywhere near the levers of power in this country, and I’m sure there are probably millions of Americans who would agree.

  10. Of course, “DiscoverTheNetworks” is a right-wing site run by the wacko Winger Welfare queen David Horowitz.

I judge an organization’s orientation by its actions.

Crew’s “15 Most Corrupt Members of Congress” includes 8 Democrats. 8 out of 15. Sounds non-partisan to me. Good thing for her that the law permits candidates to use their campaign funds for legal defense!
