“CNN Caper” Reveals the Con Behind the Tea Party and Mama Grizzlies

Blind folds, hidden cameras, boats, a sex tape machine, pornographic magazines, champagne and strawberries….sounds like one of those cheesy porns they consume in the Bible Belt on Sundays, but no…..this is a the “CNN Caper”, a Right Wing Activist Plan. It’s politics, Tea Party Style. In other words, it’s pornography, meant to titillate those involved and the boys of the Right while in this case also humiliating and controlling the female object. This is the story of the “CNN Caper” — an attempt by Tea Party activists to use sex to discredit a female reporter. But this story also has an unlikely heroine just waiting in the wings to show those Mama Grizzlies what a real feminist looks like.

Now why would you need to set someone up purposely so you could discredit them later? The only reason you would ever need to do that is if you wanted to smear the other side with your own filth so you wouldn’t stand out as much and/or they had discovered something bad about you that you needed to discredit. Turns out this female reporter was doing a documentary on the Right. Hmmm…..

Which brings us to the James O’Keefe (of the inaccurately edited and widely discredited ACORN videos) and his plan or the plan of his “mentor” to set up female CNN anchor Abbie Boudreau, lure her to a boat and video tape her secretly as she was surrounded by sex toys that he placed there in advance. Plan to seduce her in order to discredit her, as a video suggesting she was willing to do anything to get her story would be fabricated from set up footage. That was Plan II.

Plan I was to set up CNN to report something false about Sarah Palin or the “tea party” (apparently they view these as one in the same) and then give their “friendlies at Fox News” (yes, that is an admission that Fox is their propaganda network, but also that they view news as an aggressive act of war) a head’s up so Fox could bust CNN, thereby deliberately attempting smearing CNN with the same discredited stink of Fox News. Yet these Tea Party activists forget that CNN has not donated millions of dollars to only one party nor is it staffed by every, or even one, Democratic presidential candidate for 2012. Small details.

Video courtesy of Media Matters, “CNN’s Right on the Edge”:

This is how the Right thinks. This is how the Right operates.

They set about deliberately and preemptively discrediting a news organization that is doing a documentary on them. This leads to only one conclusion: Tea Party activists know they come off poorly in the documentary — why else would they want to discredit CNN before the documentary even aired?

The Tea Party has a lot to hide, after all, their candidates are empirically proven liars and extremists. So, to counter all of that they hatch plans to set up legitimate news organizations so they can discredit them. They also hatch plans to use sexual aggressiveness and suggestiveness against a female reporter in order to discredit her.

O’Keefe’s script/Plan (he now claims he has nothing to do with this document, but once again, we know this guy to be a liar so why would we give him ANOTHER chance? Oh, just for kicks…OK, well, he lied and CNN has the emails to prove it so let’s move on) lays out how he thinks Abbie Boudreau, a CNN reporter, is setting him up to show the world that he is not a journalist (gosh, O’Keefe, you took care of that one on your own — to deny that makes you crazy) so he is going to set her up by seducing her on this boat of sex. His plan says:

“….this bubble headed bleach blond who comes on at five will get a taste of her own medicine, she’ll get seduced on camera and you’ll get to see the awkwardness and the aftermath. Sit back and enjoy the show…..”

Sexual anger much? Wow. A pause while we note O’Keefe’s clear sexual issues and wonder just how widespread this is within the conservative movement. I’m just sayin’. Too bad this attitude isn’t contained in the GOP to just the young men.

Nope. This is brought to us from the party who is bringing us 5 GOP senate candidates who think a woman should be forced to bear her rapists baby (literally), is running several female abusers as candidates, is running a Tea Party candidate in Ohio who is being charged with sexually assaulting a young female conservative activist and sells all of this on a network being sued repeatedly for sexual harassment and gender discrimination and bias (that would be Fox via News Corp).

But all of that gender hate is wrapped in a mantle of faux feminism and sold to you as “Mama Grizzlies” standing up for their cubs.

What kind of woman would support a movement chock full of entitled frat boys who consistently use sex as a weapon to intimidate and control women? This movement is being led by Sarah Palin, a self-described “feminist”. Not only does Palin not condemn this behavior, but she endorses candidates and perpetrators of said conduct.

But in this story, we have a heroine. A young woman named Izzy Santa who was O’Keefe’s working partner. Izzy warned Abbie about James’ plan to get her on his boat. Izzy has since lost her job and hired an attorney. It’s ironic that a young girl would be the one to turn this deviant in, isn’t it? O’Keefe has long been obsessed with selling himself as some kind of Lothario pimp of the Right, with casting and props straight from the ’70’s. It’s patriarchy 101.

But Izzy took a stand for a sister, and that makes her a genuine heroine and feminist in my mind. She may be one of the few conservative feminists out there. You don’t hear any of the female “leaders” of the Tea Party standing up for Izzy, do you? Or standing up to bullies like O’Keefe? Nope. They’re all a-ok with a female reporter being lured onto a “pleasure palace” to be set up by a sexually deviant and aggressive young man whom I suspect has deeply troubling mental and emotional issues. Girls, when we talk about why conservatives aren’t feminists, this is what we are talking about. It isn’t about your ideology, it’s about your failure to stand up for your sisters when their sex and gender are being exploited and abused by the patriarchy. Watch the Mama Grizzlies scatter when their fellow sisters are being set up and spat out by the Big Daddy machine.

The next time a Tea Partier accuses you of judging them unfairly, dares to suggest they are a feminist movement or tries to co-opt the civil rights movement for their own purposes, remember with whom you are dealing. Those few Libertarians who thought they were in a genuine movement should distance themselves immediately from these tactics, denounce and condemn them or be prepared to have their ideas smeared right along with the rest of the Tea Party. Instead of blaming the news for reporting on the facts, the Right can blame O’Keefe, Breitbart and the rest of the Right wing fabricators for the loss of respect for their movement.

The Tea Party is a movement of fabrications being funded by far right extremists and being lead by well documented liars who will do or say anything to get what they want. They have no scruples. They will use sex against a woman because it is her “weak” point – the thing by which they can humiliate and shame her, and hence control her. With minorities they will use race to achieve the same ends. With gay people they will use sexual orientation. Etc.

These “isms” are all a means to an end; a form of control utilized by the ruling class, the powerful, to maintain their power over others. And that is why, my friend, you feel such palpable sexual and gender violence slithering through the Right wing right now. When threatened, the beast lashes out.

  1. It’s about time. It’s just sad that it took CNN this long to expose them. I guess they learned nothing from Shirley Sherrod.

  2. And whats scary, they could care less what they throw out for candidates. They obviously don’t matter in the scheme of things, its almost like look at dumb as you can, while we throw out our lies and BS.

    Good one Sarah

  3. Wow! I had heard about this but the scenario was so convoluted! Thanks Sarah for making sense of it. Why did he think he could get her on the boat? Why did he say she was coming on to him? Was Palin involved? Why would she agree to go on a boat with this clown?
It is very strange and I hope she will have full disclosure and maybe sue this guy, sounds like he was intent on sexually assaulting her!Who else was involved? Briefart? FoxNews? SarahPalin? How far up the food chain does this go?

  4. She never got on the boat, because Izzy warned her but also because she wouldn’t have been comfortable getting on the boat. Clearly she is not quite the easy bait O’Keefe took her for.

He said she was coming on to him in reference to his distorted notion that she “seduced” him to get bad things about him for her documentary — meaning, made him comfortable enough to open up, apparently. Not sexually. He implies the sexuality, but this appears to be his own mental illness kicking in.

He was the one bringing all of the sex to the meeting. Or his sad little notion of sex which involves pornographic magazines as a way to seduce a woman. Clearly CLUELESS about real women.

  5. I can’t be the only female to notice that this O’Keefe fellow is not the most attractive man around. I am simply astounded he thought that this beautiful and intelligent woman would want anything to do with him in a sexual nature. I also think that there may be something illegal about luring a woman into a situation such as this. I keep thinking that these people can’t get any lower and they keep proving me wrong. Wonderful article by the way. I love your take on the crazy right.

  6. That’s what it must take to swallow the whole right-wing ideology- viewing everything through a twisted fantasy lens where every woman is perceived as a threat, triggering their default setting of “Perv”.

  7. This is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen. I was reading about it the other day in disbelief…the guy is already discredited as a journalist because of his ACORN scheme and he just compounds his error by doing something that, if possible, is even more reprehensible. I am glad that the CNN reporter was saved from having to even deal with this clown; I just wish O’Keefe would get the humiliation he meant to heap on Boudreau.

  8. You hit it on the head by noting Abbie is clearly smart. O’Keefe isn’t smart, he isn’t attractive, he isn’t very interesting, he isn’t kind, he isn’t funny, he obviously has a lot of sexual hang ups, he has no integrity and he gives off that vibe — women know what I’m talking about — he doesn’t radiate sensuality, to put it nicely. He actually fits the profile of a serial killer. Just an observation. Why would she be interested in him?

O’Keefe is of that mind set that thinks he gets to define a woman, that he is the ultimate prize just because he is a male.

The notion that he is not a prize just for showing up with his teeth mildly brushed is what outrages those “femi-nazi” fear-mongers. They’re afraid they won’t measure up. Most of the time, they’re right. But whose fault is that? Should we all dumb ourselves down so these boys like Rush Limbaugh don’t feel bad about their utter inability to entice a woman sans their checkbook?

Someone left a wonderful quote here yesterday — but I can’t find it now. Something to the effect of a man of quality isn’t threatened by a woman of equality. Here’s to all of those men out there who fight this fight with women every day, and we see plenty of them on this site alone.

Note: I have often seen real respect for women from men I’ve met in church as well, so I am not condemning those values, but rather the bastardization of those values into a tool of patriarchy and control. There are good men all over this country and it’s high time they were recognized.

O’Keefe isn’t one of them. He isn’t fit to tie Abbie’s shoes. Nor Izzy’s.

  9. I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea that he thought that set up could possibly be attractive to any woman. I mean, how cheesy, high school loner fantasy cliche can you get?

Anyway, thanks for making the point that anybody claiming to be a feminist should have been all over this guy the minute the story broke. Hope Izzy does OK.

  10. Clueless and a SICKO! How is he not been arrested for all the stuff he has done?
CNN should make it a huge issue. One of their Reporters was almost sexually assaulted by a creepy perv!

  11. According to Media Matters, Breitbart wants an “explanation” from O’Keefe. Yeah, riiight! I think Breitbart’s main concern is for himself. O’Keefe’s latest stunt has garnered a little bit more negative attention than Breitbart is comfortable with. He knows the Sherrod videos hurt what little credibility he had. He also knows that he has been identified as O’Keefe’s mentor. IMHO, the time for Breitbart to make sure that O’Keefe established a record of legitimacy was BEFORE the ACORN tapes were released. Though it’s never been proved, I have always suspected that O’Keefe supplied the Sherrod tapes to Breitbart because Breitbart refused to reveal how he got possession of them.

  12. I am reading this on CNN the show air tonight 5pm PT, and its REALLY, REALLY creepy, one the list of things he wants “Viagra & stamina pills” “1. condom jar
    2. dildos3. Musica. Alicia keysb. 80s romance songs, things that are typically James
    c. avoid Marvin Gaye as too clich4. lube5. ceiling mirror6. posters and paintings of naked women7. playboys and pornographic magazines. He was planning to sexual assault her! Why hasn’t he been arrested? And the handcuffs, Kidnapping, being held against her will? I would hope CNN would turn the over to police for sex crimes so it could be investigated and find out WHO is behind this. This is SICK, SICK, Sick and thank god for Izzy to blow the whistle and Save Abbie from this sick encounter.
People don’t understand who these things escalate. I would think the police would take this more seriously. I am outraged.

  13. I’m assuming the video wouldn’t have aired if O’Keefe had gotten kicked in the balls after initiating his seduction strategy on the boat.

BTW — my spellchecker recommends using “Pokeweed” instead of “O’Keefe.” Considering pokeweed has a poisonous root, it’s not far off the mark.

  14. Real (Dumb)woman, every time you idiots GET CAUGHT its a “Smear”!!! You have no personal sense of responsibility.
Now to the Sane people here…do you know James O’keefe “Project Veritas” is a 501 c org???
    Turn him in!
He is a grifter, a liar, and sexual perv! 501 c my ass!

  15. First off you’re too ugly to be seduced, and secondly no one has to undercut CNN’s credibility, they already have NO credibility.

They are the ones who after all used a photo of the 8/28 rally to show the amount of people at the hate-fest One Nation rally that had barely a few thousand people at it.

  16. “Too ugly to be seduced” — is that aimed at anyone here in particular?

You are a real sicko, and no, you aren’t a real woman.

This isn’t seduction — it’s entrapment. Perhaps you are “too ugly” to have experienced that yourself, and hence don’t recognize it. Or maybe you’re just not sweet enough. Who knows. But believe me, if this had happened to you or anyone you loved ever, you wouldn’t be attempting to justify a man luring a woman onto a boat under false pretenses with a clearly sexually aggressive agenda.

Just how many times have you been sexually harassed or attacked and by whom?

  17. NO, dear that would be you who’ve embarrassed herself by calling another woman “too ugly” to be seduced because you had no argument to make and the facts clearly aren’t in your favor. You are mama grizzle no? Haha. Yeah, that’s some awesome feminism. Rock it sister.

  18. Ah yes, thank you for reminding us this is a beauty contest, not an attempt to set up a female journalist using sexual hostility and gender bias and lying about said attempt. So good to see y’all with us in 2010.

Is this some kind of lead in to suggesting pretty girl asked for it? Just wondering.

  19. Why is that the Right can’t ever argue the issue at hand? Instead they feel the need to descend into impugning the credibility of the source, or personal insults. The only thing that the right knows how to do is delegitimatize. This is what happens when a group of people delegitimatize education, facts, and knowledge and replace them with emotion, ideology, and group think.

The end result is what we have been seeing in some of the commenters here. They are a group of people who can’t communicate or function outside of their ideological tribe. They become the angry isolated fringe who are shut off from the pulse of the nation.

Great post, Sarah. I really enjoyed it.

  20. Thanks Jason:-) You, Hraf, et al are some of the many good men out there I was referring to.

The tribal mentality that comes from the epistemic closure most widely evinced by the Right is getting frightening. They are like packs of wild dogs set out on the world, armed with nothing but misinformation and rage — and thinking that it proves them strong to shoot first. This is just another reason why it’s so important for both sides to expose themselves to information from many sources.

  21. No, he means open minded Shirley Sherrod who HELPED certain types of people… including a white farmer she initially referred to someone else.

Said white farmer and his wife went on record recently defending and praising Sherrod.

You really need to read the stories to the end, RW, cuz letting Fox hand you its overly edited talking points isn’t making you any smarter. Sheeesh.

  22. The crap this guy has tried to pull is beyond belief, eh? And then we have “Real Woman” blasting away at you folks for exposing him for what he is. Velly intellesting.
For anybody here who might be interested in where a lot of the Patriarchal/Down With Women stuff comes from you might find it worthwhile to check out the website No Longer Quivering. There are a lot of strong women (and a few guys) there that have told their stories of manipulative cruelty at the hands of religious patriarchs who no doubt support the underhandedness of the Tea party tactics. Here’s the address. http://nolongerquivering.com/ And the forum is at http://nolongerquivering.proboards.com/index.cgi

  23. Think to long they have been allowed to squander taxpayer money on their parties in Nevada. They feel by now like they own that 80 percent public lands. The legal hookers pretend they really like them, so many years they are living the lies.

  24. I love hearing about how people who scheme get exposed for the liar and cheats they are. But when it’s done with such a clear hatred and bias, it makes the “reporter” no better. While the guy does sound like a scumbag, the vitriol laced in this blog post made me stop reading, You were so close to being taken seriously.

  25. Sarah it’s not shocking to see that you are clearly just one more feminist nutjob that uses sex as a tool to control and manipulate men. Then again, how else would you get anyone to listen to you outside of a blog entry? The rest of the Left can do nothing but name call and point fingers.

  26. I am sure Sarah is crushed that you don’t take her seriously and I’m sure you don’t get how you fit right into everything she was talking about by saying that. You just assume she cares what you think. LOL.

  27. What? You make NO SENSE!! LOL. SIcko? She’s using sex to control you? Scared little boy! Run home to mommy now. This is a place for grown ups.

  28. So this post (haven’t and won’t read this whole blog) is hilarious!

Somehow James O’Queer is wholly representative of the, er, Tea Party Movement? hahah. That’s like saying Barack Obama is representing communism. The lone actions of a moron do not necessarily constitute the general attitudes of the populous – regardless of whether or not that individual claims to represent the said populous.

I completely fail to see how this idiot represents, and how you can responsibly associate this with, the Tea Party. Sarah – you just showed me that whatever you contribute cannot be taken seriously because you clearly have no idea what this man represents…or what the “Tea Party” generally supports.

I could go on..but that would be wasting my time. I’m was at first interested to see if any commenter’s would point out this obvious journalistic integrity issue – but everyone just responded ‘shocked’ (as I was…). I was hoping someone could separate the two issues.

  29. …yeah, realized I said ‘Queer’…sorry about the non-PC word. Put another name as suggested above in its place, and move on to reading the rest of my comment. Thanks for having the ability to ‘move-on’ and be so ‘open minded’.

  30. And the plan…is about as credible as me saying I’m the president. Who cares what it purported. That plan is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Clearly this approach would not be represented or embraced/supported by the majority of “Tea Partier’s”. Most people think, hmm…framing someone, lying, adultery, etc…is less than acceptable.

Buying this article as being a reason to be against the tea party is so hilarious to me – it’s comical that one mans plan can be construed as representative of millions (or many) people.

  31. no one said the article made me against the tea party. i was already against them as are most americans.

  32. I saw this on CNN this past weekend. These people are sick and dangerous!! Thank God Abby spilled the beans.

P.S. Haven’t seen any posts for GOPClownShow lately, is that you?

  33. If you ever read this again – I noted that English Saddle didn’t respond to any of the rather logical points I illustrated. S/he simply latched onto a random statement to try to discredit me – that seems to be the thing to do on this particular blog…sigh. Think people. Think. Look at the big picture while noticing details. Respond to logic with logic.

E.g. don’t just respond ‘you are so illogical that you aren’t worth responding to’. I made some very valid points which have received no response.
