While campaigning for Democratic Maryland Governor Martin O’Mally today, President Barack Obama was confronted by a heckler who shouted, “You’re a liar.” The crowd quickly took care of him as a woman in the audience responded with, “We know Fox sent you.”
Here is the incident as described by Mark Halperin at Time’s The Page, “Potus tool the stage to sustained cheers, but in the middle of his speech, a white heckler shouted loudly, “You’re a liar.” He was swarmed by the crowd who shouted him down. He made a move to dash off, and shouted, “You’re a liar” again. One woman shouted, “We know Fox sent you.” Another man said, “Focus.” Potus seemed not to notice. And the heckling incident ended.”

This is an example of Tea Party patriotism at its finest. A white man shows up an event to call the President of the United States a liar. Instead of being man enough to stand his ground, he runs away, like the coward that he is. Calling the President of the United States of America a liar is not a patriotic act. It is demeaning to the office of the presidency, and we have Rep. Joe Wilson and his “You lie,” outburst during the State of the Union to thank for showing his fellow knuckle draggers that it is fine to insult the President of the United States.
When George W. Bush was president, these types of incidents never occurred because all of his crowds were screened and hand chosen. Only friends and supporters were welcomed at George W. Bush’s events. Bush was never brave enough to face a hostile crowd on his own, and just to be safe his handlers made sure that all protesters, and other hostile elements were kept miles away from the then president’s appearance, and out of public view.
Obama is restoring the basic freedoms that George W. Bush took away. Obama is not afraid of a hostile crowd or a tough question, and although he didn’t answer or acknowledge the heckler, I am proud of my fellow patriots who did. The people who scream insults at or about Obama and then run away are a sight to be pitied. They have been brainwashed by corporate America and Fox News. They are mindless drones working hard everyday against their best interests. While claiming to defend freedom, they are supporting a corporate agenda that will put them at risk. They are the threatened and entitled ruling class, and they will stop at nothing to betray their country and delegitimize this President.
