Glenn Beck Fantasizes About Obama Being Assassinated In India

On his radio show today Glenn Beck fantasized that Muslim extremists could assassinate President Obama while he visits India because, “If anybody thinks he was a Muslim over here, well God forbid, they think he was a Muslim over there because he left his religion for Christianity, death sentence, behead him.”

Beck started off his latest fantasy with a dose of fear, “We’re spending $2 billion for what reason? We are putting the President, I’m sorry, I know the President doesn’t believe there are bad guys in the world that want to see America destroyed, but I do believe that….Do you have any concept of what it would mean if the President of the United States God forbid, were taken out on our soil let alone in India? Do you have any idea what that would mean? It would be New World Order overnight, overnight.”

He continued, “He’s going to the Gandhi museum and God forbid something happens to him. Are you kidding me? He was a man of the world. He was a man of peace, just like Gandhi. God help us all. Why is the President putting himself in danger? Why is anyone allowing him to put himself in danger, and if it’s not a danger, why do we have 34 warships?…I don’t care if you spend $10 billion to protect the President. Nothing can happen to the president, period. I don’t like the man. He’s the President of the United States nothing can happen to him, so I don’t care how much money you spend, but why is going there? Why are we spending $2 billion to put him there?”

After comparing Obama’s visit to India to vacationing in Afghanistan, Beck claimed Muslim extremists could assassinate Obama for leaving his Muslim religion, “And he’s more hated there by Muslims, the extremists, they don’t like him. What are you crazy? If anybody thinks he was a Muslim over here, well God forbid, they think he was a Muslim over there because he left his religion for Christianity, death sentence, behead him. That’s what Muslim nut jobs think, so think that they’re just, no, no, no, he’s a Muslim. It’s great. He’s a sellout to them.”

The trip is not costing $2 billion, or $200 million. According to White House spokesman Matt Lehrich, “The numbers reported in this article have no basis in reality. Due to security concerns, we are unable to outline details associated with security procedures and costs, but it’s safe to say these numbers are wildly inflated.”

Beck’s whole assassination fantasy is based on the big lie that Obama is/was a Muslim, and this is why Muslim extremists are angry with him for leaving, “his religion.” This is not true in any way. Obama always has been a Christian, but hey why let things like facts get in the way of a presidential assassination fantasy? If India is so dangerous and full of Muslim extremists, then why did George W. Bush go there in March of 2006? Where was Beck’s concern for President George W. Bush then?

The reality is that Obama will be the sixth U.S. president to visit India. Dwight Eisenhower was the first in 1959, followed by Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush. Obama’s visit to India presents no danger to him or the United States, so what is Beck really talking about? Glenn Beck is getting himself all excited over the prospect of a holy war. In Beck’s mind Obama would be the martyr and serve as the justification for the great holy war between Christianity and Islam. Obama’s assassination would be the reason for a full attack on Islam.

If fantasizing on the radio about the assassination of the President of the United States sounds sick to you, that’s because it is. The whole scenario gave Beck a chance to push the conspiracy theories that Obama is a secret Muslim, and the New World Order. He managed to take the fact that Obama is going to India and turn it into a wild tale of Obama’s assassination leading to the decline of the republic. This just goes to show that instead of calming down after the midterms the far right is now daydreaming about the death of Obama. The election didn’t appease them. It only made them crazier.
