In the Name of The Mother: Palinbots Rig DWTS for Bristol Palin

I wanna win something and I don't care what it takes!
I wanna win something and I don't care what it takes!

You thought it was just “Dancing With The Stars”, but it turns out in the frozen tundra of Sarah Palin’s mind, it’s actually a 2008 Redo for the “Country” Vote wherein Palin is our President if Bristol wins. To this end, Conservatives 4 Palin is hosting a vote-a-thon desperate fest with hints and clues about how to cheat the vote, because nothing says American like robbing others of their place just so you can prove that your Chosen One is the most beloved, even if you have to steal, cheat and lie to make it so! Gosh, this is what they mean by exceptionalism, people. Read it and weep from the glory!

“Sarah is determined make Bristol the winner of the show. Whatever it takes,” an insider tells me. “She’s become obsessed with it, as if it were the election all over again, except this time a Palin will be the winner.”

The former governor’s determination is no secret and has caught the attention of many politically-minded sites, including ‘The Daily Beast’, which wondered this week if a vast right-wing conspiracy is underway to make sure Bristol stays put. The site points out that conservative activist and Palin supporter Tammy Bruce tweeted, “Operation Bristol waltzes in tonight! As #DWTS starts vote at Tweeps pls tweet phone info, will RT.”

“Sarah is making it very clear that she wants Bristol to win,” a show insider tells me, adding that Palin is tickled by the idea of taking votes away from the more “Hollywood liberal types” on the show.””

Because all of life’s a stage, this equivalency between the Vice Presidency or runner up on “Dancing With the Stars” is understandable and reasonable. Either one will do so long as certain people get a win and those evil liberals are put in their place. Hey, when you have the emotional make up of a teenage girl, this makes super sense! But perhaps ‘PopEater’ and ‘The Daily Beast’ are just paranoid. We’d best check it out ourselves. I mean, Mama Grizzly wouldn’t want to win by cheating, would she? And surely, she who is divinely ordained by God to be President wouldn’t actually hate half of America so badly that she’d preen with pleasure at the thought of beating anyone who represents that half of America on a silly reality TV show. No?

To that end, we wander over to fertile Palin worshiping country, Conservative’s 4 Palin. The site of Real Americans who show support for fiscal conservatism and small government naturally by cheating the votes in favor of Sarah’s daughter Bristol.

“Vote for Bristol! By Ian Lazaran

The number to call or text (AT&T customers only) your vote for them is 800-868-3407. You can also vote online by going here. You get to vote several times, several different ways. Use all your options for Bristol. Voting began when the show started at 8 p.m. Eastern. You have until 30 minutes after DWTS ends to vote via phone and text. However, you may vote online until 11 a.m. Eastern the next day.”

And now we take a brief foray through the comment section (Names were changed to protect the guilty):

Jennifer is a drama queen, wants the sympathy vote!

(Jennifer Grey has become the Evil One who Must Be Shut Down)

don’t we just get 5 votes?
i called my 5 already

(Technically, I think it’s one per person but who am I to quibble with fanatacism)

Yes. But, if you have more than one phone, please call it! Or go online and create as many accounts as you can to vote!

how many cell phones do you have?? do not forget land lines!!! Vote!! Vote like its 1773!!

The judges are so full of shi…take mushrooms!

Every week they say, “Bristol was judged lowest last week” (hint hint – she isn’t very good – hint hint).

Of course we know that meme. We see it from the snob (self described “elite”) ruling class every day, but we in the country class know what we can do about it, so we vote for the hero of the country class, who wins, while the snob class goes nuts.

(That “snob class” would be you, because you are reading. I don’t know how you’re going to live this down. Those ratings from the judges are actually not a conspiracy but a pretty accurate reflection of Bristol’s talents, or lack thereof in the dance department. In terms of nuts, though, I think C4P has that all sewn up.)

Yup. She was there. The best part was when they went to Alaska and did the dance in front of Sarah and Todd. Sarah was like…’lap dance type scandlous?’ (sic) and her dad was like ‘I’m outta here’. Too funny.

(Yes, that’s so…family values. I remember my mom teasing me about lap dances when I was 20…or not….)

Bristol will get America to start hating her if she get pass tomorrow.I hope she leaves so we can say tried very hard.I thought her first dance was great, but her second was not.

(Oops, a traitor in the midst; this type of dissent is not normally tolerated at C4P, but perhaps after their last outing for being a tad Fascist with the comment scrubbing, they’re trying to lighten up)

scat – Where ya been? Looked for you on election night, guess you only come around when you think there’s gloom and doom.

(Nope, guess not)

Also, I think if the judges are being unfair then they are actually making it more sure that BP stays on the show. Nothing fires people up like seeing her dance well and not being scored like other dancers are scored, they decide to vote to off set this injustice.

(Yes, that’s what’s happening….)

I agree.

Apparently…there is a couchcheatcouch to keep voting online. coughclearhistoryorusedifferentbrowsercough I don’t know if that’s fair….

(Clear your history or use a different browser, hint hint but you didn’t hear it here!)

voted 15 times

(Wi wins for Most American)

Sure this seems wrong, and given the fact that any unflattering things written about Palin are scrubbed almost as quickly as her Facebook page, we can safely assume this level of behavior and discourse is condoned and appreciated by the “Guv”. Slightly disturbing to those of us who graduated from the 8th grade a while ago….

But for a moment, let’s imagine liberals doing the same thing for their chosen one. Would their chosen one be winning in spite of an utter lack of talent? Of course not! We’re so much better than that. Hamstrung by the lack of ethics in said behavior, liberals would spiral down until they not only weren’t supporting their candidate’s kid but were at war with one another and so depleted their own morale that no one wanted to even bother voting anymore.

“Everyone vote for Hillary’s kid on Dancing with the Stars! Call in, text, and vote online!”

A: Vote for Hillary’s kid because she rocks!
B: Don’t tell me what to do. She voted against Nigerian rocks for Albinos, you heartless scum!
C: You shouldn’t cheat.
D: Done!
E: I don’t think it’s ethical to rig a vote. Shouldn’t she win on her own merits? The other dancer was better than her.
F: She sucked. Be honest. She can’t dance.
G: You’ve always hated her! I remember you from the primaries!

A: Stop fighting and vote!
B: Fuck off.
C: that wasn’t nice.
D: It doesn’t look like she’s going to win.
E: Now that I think about it, what’s she ever done for me?
F: Wow, you clowns are just like the Fox News morons sucking up to the man. Get a life.
G: You are BIASED against her because you always wanted HIM to win. You’ve been ruining these boards ever since the primaries with your bitterness!

A: She’s winning.
B: Fuck off again. I could care less what you think. Free the trees.
C: I love trees too but why can’t you all support her? She’s trying really hard and I studied dance for ten years, so I can say honestly that she’s pretty good. and the Algerian rocks were actually quite cruel to the Post-Modern Heathens, so I can’t understand how you get off supporting them. What’s wrong with you? BIGOT.
D: What are you smoking, A? She’s losing. She’s a right wing tool anyway. Why can’t we get a real Democrat?
E: Sheeple.
F: The primaries were over a long time ago, you subliterate freeper. Stop trolling.
G. At least I’m not a Hillary cheerleader.

A: Please vote!
B: Fuck you all. And hey, moron, that’s Nigerian, not Algerian. Do not call me a bigot, you Hillarybot. BTW, your grammar makes my cat cry.
C: She just lost. She deserved it I guess.
D: Typical. She wasn’t that talented. She missed a beat earlier.
E: As if I cared. Corporate whores.
F: Pizza for the troll, moderators. Ding dong.
G. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a troll. Grow up. We have free speech.

A: Did any of you vote?
B: Why bother? I’m not voting until the Nigerian rocks can vote.
C: You should vote. It matters. It’s our job. It’s our right. Lots of people would have loved to be able to vote and here you are throwing it away!
D: I refuse to lower myself to vote for the lessor of two evils.
E: You are all morons.
F: I don’t know why these trolls get to run the world.
G. No, I didn’t vote. Until the Dems get their act together I refuse to vote for them! She sold out on day one, so why should I support her stupid rich kid sucking off the Koch brothers to sell us crap we don’t need? Stop the selling of our country! Sit out the vote!

A: We should start over.
B: C: D: E: F: and G: Finally, something we can all agree on. Let’s scrap any successes and start over until it’s perfect.

Hillary’s kid loses, even though she’s a good dancer. No one is too upset because they are too busy fighting among themselves about who is the bigger cheerleader and who is the bigger whore, leaving a nice wide open path for the angry pit bull mama grizzly animal cunning person-esque to shoot us all from a helicopter.

So there you have it. Bristol is being rigged in as winner because if she can win, then by proxy, Palin gets the White House and it pleases her to keep those “liberal elites” from winning anything! Also, too, the non-elites love takin’ orders from the queen of down home-isms, even from her jet, because you know, that jet runs on heart! Go, Bristol!! She deserves to win because God loves her mommy best and yet God keeps getting it wrong. Get it right, God! Or else!!

Our democracy is in great hands. Rest easy. Welcome Madame President! Oh, and psst, anyone want to tell Palin what it is exactly that the President does? She’s not real clear on that, seein’ as she’s been focused on Alaska, I mean her family, I mean money (yeah!) for the last two years. As if it matters….LOL. She’ll wingudiate it.

  1. LOL! Scalpel of snark! Loved it.
And yes Dems better get a clue and get organized. This is a dress rehearsal.

  2. How sad…again, we are supposed to take these people seriously? I can’t watch this show. I don’t normally watch it anyway, but I don’t want to see Palin or her daughter or her secessionist husband any more than I have to, so I appreciate getting an update in this way. I’m not surprised at all it’s turned into a good vs. evil issue for the Palins or that they would resort to the same underhanded methods they use to win elections to win DWTS.

  3. Exactly. This is more evidence of the Right trying to dumb us all down until the Presidential nomination is a reality TV show rigged by the “country” vote. And oddly, these people never question the ethical stance of what they’re doing.

As an aside, growing up the daughter of a dancer, Bristol is an unfortunate dancer and shouldn’t still be on the show if it were based on merit. It hurts me to see her stand there in between moves, her arms dead, until the next shimmy. It’s over sexualized and makes me very uncomfortable. But a part of me wouldn’t begrudge her the win were other worthy contestants not suffering. I doubt she has a lot of moments that are about her. Even this isn’t about her, sadly.

  4. Unfortunately, you got the Dem dialog down far to close to how it actually happens. (I’m especially talking about Firedoglake. I read it, then despair when I see the comments.)

  5. I am on the war path right now because I can’t believe how we’ve all allowed ourselves to disintegrate like children, never seeing the larger picture. For all of those who like to think they are being objective, I’m fascinated by the fact that they can’t see the many paradigm shifting changes their leaders made for them. One can’t claim objectivity when all they see is the negative and even worse, they fall for the right wing lies (Sherrod, ACORN, etc) every single time.

  6. Absolutely! We had best prepare ourselves for the investigations and the cheating and the general warfare against every Democrat in office, the President especially. It’s coming. And the first “liberal” or “independent” or even “conservative” who believes everything they hear without fact-checking it on their own is the loser. This is OUR government, not a game.

  7. I think you could almost make an analogy to what they accused ACORN of to what the conservatives for Palin are doing. Could this be more conservative hypocrisy? but then again we take a look at the fact that these people actually think that Sarah is a valid human being you really can’t expect too much in the way of values out of them.

I think Bristol is a very beautiful young woman. I don’t think she is as good a dancer as others and she’s not worse than some. I would hope that the program itself in tallying the votes sees what is going on. I don’t take this very seriously, but I seriously think it would hurt Bristol if she were disqualified by those who are rabid for her mother.

If Bristol were to win it is not a win for conservatism, not a win for common sense nor a win for abstinence( obviously). it is my fervent hope that sooner or later( and decides that she doesn’t want to be used by her mother any longer. I’m not sure what choice she has in the matter.

besides, the judges have the final say in the final dances in my understanding. I doubt there is much chance she can win unless Sarah gets to the program and the judges. Something I think could very likely happen. I hope they are not from Alaska

  8. Ah, you nailed my secret agenda to expose the hypocrisy, as well as ridiculous notion that liberals could in fact partake in anything like this. Liberals would be falling over themselves to argue the ethics of such a thing. I don’t claim that liberals are “better” people, only that by nature they are not likely to cheat in this manner due to their inherent inability to walk in lock step. I agree with you re Bristol and I wish her the best. That doesn’t make this OK on behalf of the other contestants, nor does it make this her fault.

  9. I wonder if the program realizes what is going on and are they going to step in? You know it isn’t fair to Brandy or Jennifer who are the best dancers. The judges know what they are doing. These people are dancers themselves. I always thought america was a fair country now all of a sudden to have people voting for a pretty girl who really isn’t the best dancer (she knows it herself) who has a chance to win a popularity dance because of her mother. To me that isn’t a sense of fair play in america or a shining moment. All because her mother wants to show those damn liberals and put them in their place yet she doesn’t mind taking their goodies when she is in Hollow wood. Shame of those grifter Palins. I would feel the same way if Chelesa Clinton was doing the same thing.

  10. If Chelsea Clinton were doing this, the liberals would be the first to jump on her and her mother for it. Frankly, it’s just a dance contest and I don’t have a pony in that race, but it shows a mean girl, juvenile aspect to Palin’s character which is relevant to her seeking the highest office in the land. She hasn’t told C4P to knock it off — something any good leader would have done by now. It’s not good sportsmanship, it’s unfair and it’s rather ugly and mean spirited when you realize it’s not that she’s PRO her daughter, it’s that she’s ANTI- Hollywood liberals (unless she’s grifting swag from them, doing her own reality TV show with them, or getting dressed by them).

  11. Like I’ve said for years..the GOP and especially Sarah of all of them..only win BY LYING CHEATING AND STEALING. They know nothing else but vicious lies to get what they want. Nothing has ever been won in honor by this party. Nor have they ever done anything honorable for anyone. NOT ONE CITIZEN. Check their record. Oh thats right. You don’t mind being taken by the banks again, you don’t mind having your mom or grandmas SS take away. you don’t mind having unemployment taken away from YOU AND YOUR FAMILY so you can’t eat or pay rent. I forgot. YOU SUPPORT PRAISE AND CHOSE THE GOP FOR THESE WONDERFUL THINGS THEY DO FOR YOU TO BENEFIT THE WEALTHY! forgive me..I forgot.

  12. Hmm. All I can say is that anyone who thinks the road to the WH has to cross the stage of DWTS is seriously disturbed or hopelessly locked in a junior high school mentality.

Great post, Sarah. You skewered the squirrels on both sides.

  13. But Sarah, Bristol cannot dance. She has NOTHING. She has no moves, she is awkward (due to all the weight she has gained), she stomps her feet. It’s like watching a jello mold try and move.

I hope DWTS realizes that this pretty much shoots any type of credibility they may ever have had going in. Many really good dancers have been kicked off of this show so that Palin’s daughter isn’t a loser like her mom is.

Her dancing is actually pathetically sad. I wonder if it’s true that she practices on the pole in her front yard? Maybe Sarah coaches her?

This girl needs a life. I feel very sorry for Bristol. We all know what happens when a child is “pimped” out there because her mom is a failure. This girl is still young – and a mother (multiple times????). I find the entire thing repulsive. I would want and hope for more, for my own daughter, than being viewed as a trash tramp by some of the viewing public.

Talk about exploitation. And the thing is, even if Bristol does win, Sarah still LOST the election. She is so obsessed with all of this she doesn’t see that her daughter has lost any or all self respect she ever possessed.

They both look like uneducated hicks.

  14. wow. how you nailed the Left and liberals, also too. Now Jon Stewart can relax! You’re too clever by half for most and more clever than most by any other measure.

The Algonquin shamans and other post-moderns, dancers, and mothers, hope you contuue to dazzle in your satiric strides and flat-out jokes.

    love ya, girl.

as Felinghetti said to Kerouac with Hilloary and Billoary waiting in the ante-room:

  15. I disagree. I don’t believe she is a beautiful young woman. She is rapidly taking on the manners and behaviors of her mother. She is very uncoordinated and many of the other couples have danced better than she and Mark. Mark moves, Bristol either jiggles or climbs on his lap (or my favorite, lying on top of him on the floor).

It is important to mom and daughter that she win evidently, although why it’s such a huge deal is known only to the Palins. It’s a reality show dance-off, in the grand scheme of things, it will be forgotten in 2 weeks.

I don’t think she dances well enough to be a true contender. I don’t believe she has the talent – or the ability to win fairly. And I also believe that she knows that.

She really should have come on, tried her best, and lasted a couple of weeks. Instead what we are treated to is just one more example of a young woman not experiencing “loss”. All kids need to learn how to win and how to lose gracefully. The cheating and interference doesn’t do anything for Bristol and it does NOT make her a good dancer. It’s just propping up her self loathing and her mother’s paranoid ego.

Good luck to this girl. As she ages she will need it. As will anyone who comes in contact with her. There are no values in that family, obviously.

I feel very badly for the talented contestants who have left DWTS so Sarah’s flying monkeys could cheat her into winning. And I think deep down inside Bristol knows she isn’t as good as the others. So she’ll cheat her way through life, just like her corrupt NPD mother.

  16. Um, don’t forget, Sarah tried to upstage Chelsea’s wedding by getting Levi & Bristol back together for that photoshoot in August – the 30 minute reunion where they posed for the Mag spread with Tripp?

Chelsea Clinton wouldn’t do anything like this. She is a grown woman and she is mature. If she did compete, she would not make a cheap spectacle of herself. Also, she doesn’t need to do something like this. This may be THE biggest thing Bristol accomplishes in her lifetime. And even then, it isn’t HER victory – because it was done by cheating.

If she can’t win fairly, then she isn’t the winner.

  17. Agreed. THIS will be Bristol’s defining moment. And she still will never accomplish anything worthwhile.

Remember during WWII – they did all those dance marathons? Anyone remember who won? Anyone remember who won 2 years ago?

It’s pretty sad that this will be considered her main accomplishment, and even then, she didn’t win fairly, nor will she deserve it. I hope she feels guilty – I know I would, as would my daughter. Winning by cheating is never a good feeling. You know it inside…you really don’t measure up when it’s done that way.

  18. 1. I am a liberal and vote every week for Jennifer.

    2. I vote using my cell phone, landline and email.

    3. Each account is allotted the same number of votes as number of dancers left on the show.

    4. Last week, each account was allotted 5 votes.

    5. My friend votes for Brandy using 3 email addresses for 15 votes.

    6. ABC encourages online voters to use multiple email accounts for voting. After you use up your votes, it asks you if you’d like to log-out and re-login using a different account. ABC counts these for advertising dollars.

    7. It is EXTREMELY common for people to vote 50 times or more using a variety of accounts.

    8. As much as I want Jennifer to win, there is no conspiracy. This is all absolutely normal voting behavior that has existed for 11 seasons of the show and includes supporters of all contestants.

  19. Deeply honored by references:-) I adore DP et al and have two of my favorites on the nightstand for emergency reading.

  20. Why do you Palinbots always claim to be a liberal before you tell us that you’re also doing something bad? Here’s a hint. If you register under different IP addresses and clear your browser, that means you have to clear your browser to vote again, which means the show does not in fact want you to do that. What would be the point of that? What kind of show would that be? They would call that “how many friends do you have online” not “DWTS”.

  21. Like I said…. I vote for Jennifer. Not a lie. I found this blog thanks to a tweet @Archivist1000 sent to @therealjgrey with this link.

You don’t need to clear your browser cache to cast additional – and legal – votes.

You finish voting online – this week it’ll be 4 votes. Then, the page automatically offers you the option of logging out of the site and logging back in with another id. Another email address. So, if you have a yahoo, google and microsoft address, you can vote with all of those legally and with ABC’s encouragement.

The more votes, the more advertising dollars ABC can charge. The professional dancers regularly encourage everyone to vote “using all methods” – meaning email, text and phone calls.

There is only perhaps one thing unusual about what Palin’s supporters are doing – it’s not right to vote without watching. If that’s what they’re doing, I hope it’s not a big influence. But, the other stuff…. everyone’s doing it.

If you don’t believe me, check out the ABC DWTS message board where people discuss how many times they’ve voted, and check twitter, where people will write to the dancers and say things like, “I just voted for you 90 times on all my addresses” (that was one sent to Jennifer).

  22. And Jennifer isn’t the daughter of a liberal politician, is she? So, even if you are a liberal, you’re not voting for her because you like her mom….right?

  23. No, although I am a fan of her Dad. :)

But here’s my secret – I would vote for Jennifer even if she had a bad dance because I’ve been a fan for a long time. So, it may not always be based on her dance. She’s simply my “favorite” on the show (and the show asks viewers to “vote for your favorite”).

Regardless, yes, I think her dancing is amazing and she deserves to be in the final four. Does Bristol? Not according to my standards.

My standards don’t matter, though. People vote for all sorts of reasons and as long as they’re using established methods – which they seem to be – that’s how it works.

You know – ESPN and the NFL Network regularly tweeted to ask their followers to vote for Kurt. I don’t believe all of those people voted on behalf of Kurt’s dancing, because it wasn’t great.

The Children’s Miracle Network used to email 2 million people every week asking them to vote for Marie Osmond, who wasn’t the best technical dancer but lasted to the finals.

*shrug* It’s a tv show designed for drama and to maximize viewer interest by encouraging them to participate extensively in the voting process. I’d say the show is succeeding. ;)

  24. you sound like you care a little too much about the history of voting on this stupid show. for a jennifer fan you spend a lot of time defending bristol.

  25. I didn’t say a word defending Bristol. I said I didn’t think she should be in the final four, and I didn’t think it was right to vote without watching.

I vote every week. This article jumps to conclusions based on erroneous info about the way people have historically voted over 11 seasons.

The author was not even aware that one account receives more than one vote. That’s basic info displayed on the main voting page of the ABC website.

Nothing wrong with explaining how voting works – the only way my voting explanation relates to Bristol is that it shows all contestants have benefited from multiple-account voting.

I’m sorry if the conspiracy-theory is more to your liking. I do think that conservative bloggers are working hard to generate votes for Bristol – perhaps disingenuously since the votes are based more on her Mother’s work. I don’t agree with that. However, they seem to be playing within accepted standards of voting. That’s my point.

  27. I never watch DWTS myself, but all I hear is that Bristol Palin is uncoordinated and that she cannot dance. However, from what I know of her mother’s character, it’s not surprising that she would try to strongarm the judges into keeping Bristol on the show.
I normally refrain from commenting about any of Sarah Palin’s kids, since it’s enough of a burden that they have a mother with so many character deficits. She is doing Bristol a tremendous disservice by pushing for her to stay in something that she seems totally unqualified for, from what I’ve heard. Bristol is a 20-year-old mother now, and it’s time she tried to move from under her mother’s shadow and make something of herself based on her own merits.

  28. You need to update this post.

Google @heytammybruce … it will take you to her Twitter page, where she gives instructions on how to vote to her fans (Radio and website) She reminds them on Mondays– so thousands of people who don’t watch are voting for Bristol– while the good dancers compete FAIRLY but without a chance.

Hurry before she deletes the Twits!

  29. Sarah does have the capacity to make you wonder who exactly is a handicapped person in that family.

The real limits of Sarah’s character are going to be seen when Bristol gets voted off the island. She may go over the edge, rant and rave, tweet about how bad the judging was, or she might go on TV, put her arms round her daughter and say how completely proud of her she is that she went as far as she did.

which way do you think she will go? I’m hoping for the latter

  30. Perhaps congress should get involved, conduct an investigation – like athletes shooting steroids. Who cares? This is not illegal, unethical or important.

  31. Stop guys…..Don’t you see what’s happening?! Dancing With the Stars incorporated political elements, and you went after it hook line and sinker. I’m seeing people discuss dance moves for God’s sake. Who cares if she doesn’t dance well or not? Has it come to this (drops down to one knee and shakes clutched fist into the heavens)?

  32. Sarah Jones is a big crybaby. Fans vote for their favorite star and don’t care how well they dance. Get real. It’s a people thing not liberal or conservative. Just like a liberal to whine all day about something not being fair. Well how about whining about affirmative action being continued in our society or how about a boy in CA. not being allowed to have the American flag on his bike. DWTS knows how it goes and if they didn’t want it to be that way they would only go by the judges scores. Blame them, not Mama Grizzly!

  33. Doesn’t the show make money off all those text message votes? As long as ABC makes the money who cares who wins? Vote as often as possible. And please do it in a way that is profitable.

It also cements the idea that with all that’s wrong in the world today that the crazies will spend any amount necessary to get what they want, when easily that money could be spent on more useful things.

  34. As long as ABC makes the money who cares who wins?

I suspect the viewers care, otherwise, why would they vote? I used to watch DWTS when it really DID have stars.. When Tom Delay joined, I bailed. ( I never cared enough to vote though)

Stop guys…..Don’t you see what’s happening?! Dancing With the Stars incorporated political elements, and you went after it hook line and sinker

However, this is supposed to be a dancing competition…. or rather, it used to be. In any competition, the participants have the right to expect to be judged on the quality of their performance. Otherwise, why bother ‘dancing’ in a ‘dancing’ competition? Or cooking in a cooking competition?

I know Bristol is young- but, she is well aware that several websites that exist ONLY to support her Mom are rigging the votes. This is unfair to the other competitors, yet neither she or her Mom have shown the integrity, sportsmanship or self-respect to ask their ‘fans’ to allow Bristol to compete on her own merits.

Final note: the blog, Conservatives 4 Palin was founded by Rebecca Mansour. She is now employed by Sarah Palin (paid by SarahPAC)- she is probably the one who writes the FB posts. Tammy Bruce is a talk-radio personality with a Pro-Palin website.

So who made it ‘political’? Not the viewers, and not the other ‘dancers’.

  35. Uh, no they are a little busy. One is raising a child, and the other went to Iraq and repeatedly put his life on the line so idiots like you retain the freedom to post ignorant, stupid sh* all over the web. I’ll be sure to thank him for you.

  36. Yes, lets look at their record. It was a REPUBLICAN who issued the Emancipation Proclamation and freed the slaves. REPUBLICANS are the ones who passed the bill to establish the 15th amendment, so that blacks could vote. Democrats in congress opposed it. REPUBLICANS are the ones who issued the charter so that Howard University could be founded. Bush (a REPUBLICAN) appointed more minorities to the cabinet than any other president. It was the REPUBLICANS who supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It was the democrats who didn’t want the schools to be integrated. It’s the REPUBLICAN party that cut taxes, not the Democrats, and when Obama fails to extend them, a lot more people are going to need that welfare your talking about. But yes, the republicans have NEVER done one honorable thing, for ANYONE, EVER! Good God, please tell me you are not registered to vote, your ignorance is overwhelming!!!!!!

  37. Anyone who has ever watched this show knows it’s not about the best dancer. IF that were the case, the eliminations would be determined by the judges alone. No, it’s also a popularity contest. Yes, Bristol has the Republican vote. She also has the whole state of Alaska voting for her, as well as many teen moms, or people who just like to cheer for the underdog. Who cares? Brandy has the black vote. You know every little African American girl in the country looks up to her, identifies with her, and is cheering her on. And it’s not just because she is a good dancer. Brandy also has her music fans voting for her. Rick and Kurt had a monopoly on the athletic vote. Who cares if Sarah Palin is asking people to vote for her daughter? ESPN was asking people to vote for Rick and Kurt. Are you going to b*tch and moan about the vast conspiracy in the world of sports now? As far as I’m concerned, you can blame yourself (and others like you) for her still being on the show. The more people say vicious things about her, the more others feel sorry for her. Just like the democratic party trying to label Tea Party members as “Tea baggers.” You don’t change peoples minds by mocking them, you just fire them up more. So keep posting your trash about how it’s republicans fault when it rains, and people will keep flooding the phones and web with votes for her. It’s just like liberals to cry about a contest where the MAJORITY rules, to be ‘unfair’. It’s not Bristols fault that she is more popular with the public than anyone else. “But it’s not fair! She has TOO MANY people who like her!” *rolls eyes*

  38. It was shocking that Brandy was sent home from DWTS as her dancing is far superior to Bristol’s. SHE and Jennifer should have been in the finals because of their dancing talent! It’s shameful that Bristol is still on Dancing with the Stars because her dancing is pitiful compared to the really good dancing others are doing. She has improved, but unfortunately still looks like a “whale out of water.” She’s learned to shimmy (it’s actually easy to learn) so she stands doing that a lot but Mark mostly dances around her because she can’t dance any advanced steps. Her comments show that she’s too clueless to get that she’s still there not because of fans’ votes but because of cheating by her mother’s supporters. I’m not political though the conservatives seem to have me on their emailing list. I’ve seen Sarah Palin’s tea partiers telling how you can cheat by voting on an infinite number of times using fake email addresses and names “because they are never checked.” They said it is a way to get back at the Dems and some people were boasting that they can get in 40 – 42 votes per hour using this tactic. One Palin conservative had voted this way 300 times in 3 hours. Readers were told to just do the voting, it doesn’t matter if they watch the show. People who can spend all that time cheating with their voting need to get a life but in the process they’ve cheated Brandy and others out of a fair chance to show their dancing talent. It’s just wrong.

Having Bristol end up in the finals makes DWTS lose all credibility. If this is a dancing contest, the dancing should have been judged only by expert judges, not by the viewers. But this season it also appears that even the judges’ voting is rigged when they give Bristol scores only one point lower than that of the other (outstanding) dancers in the semi-finals. At least Carie Ann Inaba makes somewhat more realistic comments regarding Bristol’s dancing mistakes and sometimes votes her one lower than Len and Bruno do but even she seems to have drunk the Kool-aid. DWTS is no longer a dancing contest; it’s been sullied by politics. It should be dropped the way the $64,000 Question was years ago when it was learned it had been rigged in favor of the “winner.” ABC has pushed away their formerly loyal viewers and the show will pay the price next season. My family has stopped watching and won’t be watching again.

  39. Proving that Palinbots are really as stupid as suspected. That was obviously not the point, Annie, but a point will be given for desperation. Palinbots are rigging the vote and breaking rules to do it because they seem to think that Dancing is somehow related to the Presidency. That is the point, Annie. Hint: If you actually read something before trying to argue a strawman, you would know this.

  40. Cam says: “It was a REPUBLICAN who issued the Emancipation Proclamation and freed the slaves. ”

Before you accuse others of historical ignorance, you should check your ‘facts’ – and wow, were yours ever a mess, starting with the Emancipation Proclamation, which “freed the slaves” only in the states that had seceded, and did not consider the US to be “law”. It did not free a single slave. It was a political speech that achieved nothing real – only emotional.

Some of your other ‘facts’ are equally wrong – but surely I’ve already lost your attention. Your type of “REPUBLICAN” never lets little things like facts get in the way of their feelings.

I think the mistake was when ABC decided to include contestants with any sort political connection . . . why can’t they just let it be about dancing? Some of us would enjoy a break from the media whore Sarah Palin, whose face seems to be absolutely everywhere (even here – though the photo & caption are amusing, I’d prefer to just not see her at all).

I agree that Bristol is pitiful. She doesn’t seem aware enough to realize that it’s not only not about the dancing, it’s not even about her.

  41. I think the Democrats better be careful but first, I think the Republicans need to check their closets and clean up really good before they start preparing to win.

  42. He went into the military because he had a drug problem and the family wanted the government to take care of it.
