First, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann returned from suspension, and now the most popular segment on his Countdown program The Worst Person In The World will make its return this evening. In response to a question about the segment Olbermann Tweeted, “We haven’t done the segment in three weeks. It returns tonight.”
The most salient note regarding Willow and Bristol Palin’s facebook slurs is the awkward timing of reality, rearing his mean little head and directly conflicting with the carefully crafted image of angelic wholesome Northern Barbie Family who like to shoot and pray together so cheerfully sold to us on Palin’s reality TV show.
John McCain is a war hero, and advocates permanent wars regardless the cost in lives and drain on the economy. He also knows that allowing gays to serve in the military is wrong, regardless that a majority of Americans, the Pentagon, and service members support repealing DADT. McCain also doesn’t want an end to the war in Afghanistan because he has gross memory loss regarding the Iraq war.
On her MSNBC program last night Rachel Maddow took on one of the great myths of American politics that banning earmarks is the same as cutting spending. Maddow called the Republican position on the earmark ban what it really is. According to Maddow the Republican earmark ban is an, “epic quest to seem fiscally responsible without actually being fiscally responsible.”
Republicans claim we need an anti-missile defense system [cue to them rubbing their hands greedily together in anticipation]. But isn’t the best way to get rid of a missile threat to get rid of the missiles themselves? Oh wait, a missile defense system is another way to spend money and ratchet up the U.S. deficit. Getting rid of missiles gives Republicans less to spend money on.
