Sarah Palin Explains Why Santorum Rises To The Top

Unintentional comedy gold took center stage on Fox News’ Hannity as Sarah Palin gave her expert analysis on why Santorum rises to the top.

Here’s the video from Fox News:

Sean Hannity asked Sarah Palin about the timing of Santorum’s surge, and she answered, “Well, there in Iowa it was a good place for Santorum to be and to rise to the top, and even though he was eight votes short, I think most people would say that he was the one who rose to the top because for many it was unexpected, his finish, but Iowa there with, I believe sort of a microcosm of America, when you consider median income, when you consider education levels. I think Iowa really represents much of America and the voters who are going to show up in a general election.”

What Sarah Palin really meant when she said that Iowa Republicans were a microcosm for the rest of America had nothing to do with education and income, and everything to do with race. 99% of Iowa GOP caucus participants were white. Fifty one percent of them identified themselves as born again Christians. The GOP caucus goers were also 69% small city and rural.

Sarah Palin believed the GOP Iowa caucus represented America, because it represents the America that Republicans see. The GOP doesn’t see African American and Latino voters as positive contributors to society. To most Republicans, Hispanics and Latinos represent illegal immigrants, and to Rick Santorum, African Americans are people on welfare and food stamps who don’t work and take other people’s money.

Of course, Republicans like Palin want the general electorate to look like the turnout for the GOP caucus. Iowa Republicans are the embodiment of the Republican base. The GOP base is white, evangelical, and rural. Rick Santorum is the perfect candidate for Iowa Republicans, but I have some bad news for Sarah Palin. The general election electorate is not going to look like Iowa. There will be lots of African Americans and Latinos voting on Election Day, and the vast majority of those non-white faces will be supporting Barack Obama.

Notice that Hannity and Palin stumbled into one unintentional Santorum joke after another. Hannity discussed the timing of Santorum surge. Palin mentioned the good place for Santorum to be and Santorum’s rise to the top. What we are seeing here is a repeat of the hilarity that ensued when the right didn’t know what the term teabagger meant.

I think we found the one thing that Sarah Palin is truly an expert in. Sarah Palin certainly knows all about Santorum.

  1. Santorum was virtually ignored until most of the non-Romney candidates disqualified themselves with their nutty statements or their sexual escapades. Huntsman is also a Mormon and Ron Paul scares many Evangelicals. They were even willing to give Gingrich another look until the Romney superpak reminded them of all his baggage. Conservatives merely dislike Santorum less than they dislike Romney.

  2. Placing racist next to her name is redundant that’s what the “(R)” stands for next to all their names.

  3. “..most people would say that he was the one who rose to the top because for many it was unexpected, his finish, but Iowa there with…”

…but Iowa there with??? Ah, geez Margie, there she goes again!

What’s a “classy” way to say,’Go home and mind your own vagina, Sara’?

I really don’t know how to say it any differently…If I say ‘Quit stickin’ your nose in other peoples’ stuff’ that doesn’t cut it, nor does ‘Go home and take care of Todd’ seem quite right……I’m flummoxed in the gazoikka!

  4. And when faced with the question about Rick Santorum taking birth control way for women( wanting to) Sarah Palin replied, well I stopped having babies 10 years ago it doesn’t apply to me.

And the two or three beautiful young ladies who were there next to him getting pictures taken, did Rick explained to them that they are baby machines but they shouldn’t have sex?

Such a frothy mix of bull ship.

I see Sarah Palin keeps up the ridiculous stuff about Obama putting us on the wrong track. How long can these people go on not admitting that there was a Bush?

  5. All that money and you would have thought that she would have hired a speech coach.
“…I think most people would say that he was the one who rose to the top because for many it was unexpected, his finish, but Iowa there with, I believe sort of a microcosm of America, when you consider median income, when you consider education levels. ”

Did she really, really graduate from college?
Did the republicans really really want her to be

I don’t know who is worse, santorum or palin.

  6. Of course Hannity didn’t even notice $arah did not answer his question as to why Sanitorium (without two eyes) surged. Hannity is an idiot and $arah is something worse.

  7. Love your comment. Well, certainly and as is that’s how it should be. Wait, that my Sarah talking. Bad me. This woman just drives me nuts!

  8. Its because sarah had her teleprompter on (see it in her glasses) and her answer was programmed for the maximum hate output

  9. How could Perry decide for himself if God is the one who told him to run? Why didn’t someone ask that question?

  10. Must be Palin is going to be in town again and Hannity is looking to get lucky. Sorry Todd but you’ll get Fox’s sloppy seconds.

  11. It is said that only cream and bastards rise. We really need to dial way back on the bastards. Where’s the cream?

  12. Turds also rise. I’m guessing they sunk the cream. Of course if you have no cream in the first place, it’s impossible for it to rise as is the case with the GOPTP.

  13. That (run-on) sentence should be in every English/grammar textbook showing how NOT to write/speak. Word salad after it’s been through the salad spinner. Wow, just, wow!
