Watch John Boehner Make A Fool Of Himself Trying To Attack Obama’s SOTU

John Boehner made a fool of himself today by criticizing President Obama’s 2012 State Of The Union Address while the White House is still writing it.

Here’s the video:

Transcript from Fox News:

WALLACE: Big event Tuesday night, the State of the Union, we know some of the broad outlines of what the president is going to say at the State of the Union, let’s get through them.

More help for the middle class, such as aid for people going to college, or having problems financing their home, income inequality. He’ll demand that the wealthy pay more taxes and once again, he’ll propose a grand bargain to cut the deficit and avoid that $1.2 million in automatic triggers.

Do you see a compromise on any of those issues?

BOEHNER: You know, I read a lot about what the president is going to talk about Tuesday night. And it sounds to me like the same old policies that we’ve seen. More spending, higher taxes, more regulations — the same policies that haven’t helped our economy, they made it worse.

And if that’s what the president is going to talk about Tuesday night, I think it’s pathetic. I think it’s time for the president to listen to his own jobs council. It’s time to go in a new direction.

We need to end the regulatory nightmare that’s coming out of Washington serving as a wet blanket over our economy. We need to work to fundamentally change our tax code.

The most nonsensical part of Boehner’s attack is that he is criticizing something that the president hasn’t even finished writing yet. USA Today reported that President Obama is devoting much of this weekend to writing the State Of The Union. How can Boehner criticize something that isn’t even fully written yet?

All Fox News and Boehner had was Obama’s preview Tuesday’s State Of The Union Address:

The president said in his preview, “In a lot of ways, my address on Tuesday will be a bookend to what I said in Kansas last month about the central mission we have as a country, and my central focus as President. And that’s rebuilding an economy where hard work pays off and responsibility is rewarded — and an America where everybody gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everybody plays by the same set of rules…I talked in Osawatomie about – this is a make-or-break moment for the middle class and folks trying to work their way into the middle class. Because we can go in two directions. One is towards less opportunity and less fairness. Or we can fight for where I think we need to go: building an economy that works for everyone, not just a wealthy few.”

A two minute preview is all John Boehner needed in order to determine that President Obama’s State Of The Union address is pathetic.

John Boehner thinks that it pathetic that this president wants to help the middle class. He also apparently feels that hard work should not have to pay off, and that the economy should not work for everyone. Although, I am certain that what must have made Boehner’s stomach turn over the most is the idea that the wealthy should pay their fair share and play by the same rules as everyone else.

Throughout his appearance on Fox News Sunday, Speaker Boehner tried to blame Obama for the poor performance of the House, but by being so closed minded as to attack a State Of The Union address before it has been delivered, the Speaker unintentionally revealed the true source of the problem.

It is impossible for our political system to function if one side of the debate goes into every speech or issue with their minds already made up. The Republicans don’t have to hear President Obama’s address to know that it is pathetic.

What kind of fool thinks that it is good politics to be opposed to rewards for hard work and promoting fairness? Only an idiot could possibly be against building an economy that works for everyone, but here was John Boehner on Fox News doing exactly that.

Boehner thought that he would preemptively strike at the SOTU in order to steer attention away from the agenda that Obama will be setting, but Speaker Boehner’s criticisms made him look like a closed minded fool.

The Speaker’s comments may be beloved by the Obama hating right, but to the rest of America, Boehner was another Republican who looked out of touch and out of his mind.

  1. John Boehner? You mean the guy who invested heavily in seven of the companies associated with the Keystone Pipeline? Oh sure, his broker buys and sells his stock without Boehner’s input, right? I’m so happy he would allow that same broker to invest in BP in December of 2010. You remember BP don’t you? The same company who in 2010 allowed nearly 5 billion barrels of crude oil to spill into the Gulf of Mexico? That John Boehner? Who in the hell would listen to anything HE has to say????

  2. “The Speaker’s comments may be beloved by the Obama hating right, but to the rest of America, Boehner was another Republican who looked out of touch and out of his mind.”

    Boehner is Nucking Futs…

  3. Boehner is an idiot. Pelosi got everything passed…every bill she put up for a vote passed. Boehner is a failure. Period. When the Democrats take over the House again, we will get an effective speaker.

  4. One thing Boehner knows about is ‘pathetic.’ And “ain’t nobody in this town” sure sounds professional John. You sound like the spoiled brat you are. Spending creates jobs…not regulatory laxity to let corps run wild. And to spend that, you MUST raise taxes. Period. And no Keystone..ever!

  5. If Obama is responsible for the House, then Boehner needs to step down, and know his role.

Boehner has quashed everything to do with jobs, said he doesn’t believe in compromise. He has no business talking about jobs. And even funnier his little band of rodeo cowboys have the lowest ratings in the country. And he has the balls to continue the farce!

  6. Boehner should talk! His saying of Obama it’s “the same old policies that we’ve seen. More spending, higher taxes, more regulations — ”

Has a single new idea ever issued from this sad sack’s mouth? Or from any Republican’s for that matter.

Every criticism they make of Obama flies directly in the face of reality: he hasn’t expanded government, he hasn’t raised taxes and he has trimmed government regulations. But listen to the GOP. They are an insane joke.

  7. What’s pathetic is that Obama is going to tell us the state of the union is strong. Ha! What a farce. Yet Boehner and Pelosi will both stand and applaud wildly, even though they know our nation is in dire straights. This guy put together 5 things – a litmus test, basically – to see how candid Obama is being.

It’s interesting stuff, but I’ll be surprised if Obama has the cojones.

  8. did he cry? I like when he cries. His face scrunches up all wierd like an alcoholic trying not to puke so hard that his eyes water.

  9. Oh, boo-hoo, Speaker Boehner, boo-hoo. All together now, where are the jobs, Speaker Boehner, where are the jobs?!?

  10. A big majority of corporate America has set an agenda to NOT hire even if they have the need to in order to keep up with demand of there products just to make the president look bad.

  11. Forgive me but I don’t watch fox news. I don’t know the name of the gentleman interviewing Boehner, but I have seen him in other clips like this, interviewing other GOP folks and he comes across as not being very soft on these guys. Not pushing an agenda and actually calling them out on some of their questionable statements. Not what I expected. Just had to express that.

  12. Chris Wallace. Mr Softball questioner. Anything he can do to continue a republican agenda he will do. Including setting there while John Boehner lies his butt off and not saying a word

  13. Basically Boehner blew a whole lot of hot air talking points!!! Give it rest Boehner you are so full of it crappola!

  14. They were with luntz this weekend for the retreat after the 6 week recess…That is the newest scripted buzz word..pathetic!

Not to smart when the voter sees congress as pathetic by about 90%!

  15. I’d love to see the 30 bills boner says are sitting in the senate in order to create jobs. Just the ones that don’t involve massive tax cuts for the rich and corporations, getting rid of the EPA, destroys organized labor, or the best of all the Keystone project that is supposed to create a zillion jobs. Bet the list goes to zero.

  16. As the most inept and ideologically driven Speaker in recent times, Boehner is in no position to criticize anyone. All he and his henchmen and henchwomen have done is to wage cultural wars from last century instead of addressing jobs like they promised to do in their campaigns. Plus, he has allowed the most reactionary and ignorant GOP House members to lead him instead of being a leader.

  17. Bet it really hurts to know that Obama’s going to get another term. Say what you want, Boner, you’re helpless to stop it.
