Hours before Fundraiser with Romney, Donald Trump Goes Full On Birther Insane

Watch Donald Trump absolutely lose his mind in an birther frenzy just hours before he is set to appear at a fundraiser with Mitt Romney.

CNBC: Just to quick switch topics on you, I want to go back to the birther stuff. You were fanning the flames last week. Are you back in the same place where you were before?

Trump: I never really changed. Nothing’s changed my mind. You have a huge group of people. I walk down the street and people are screaming please a publisher came out last week and had a statement about a young man doing a book, born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia. The publisher came out and said we made a mistake. What do we do? Oh, we made a mistake. That’s not the way life works. He’s a young man doing a book and he said what he believed to be the truth. So there are a whole lot of things. His mother was never in the hospital, they don’t know which hospital it was, his grandmother said he was born in Kenya. It all wouldn’t matter except if you’re born in a foreign country, you’re not allowed to be president so this is a minor detail. So the publisher comes out last week and made this statement and said we made a mistake. Is it an important thing? In a way it is because it says you’re not allowed to be president if you’re not from the country. I’m not fanning flames.

This is something that came out last week; a lot of people are questioning his birth certificate, questioning the authenticity of his birth certificate. I’ve been known as being a very smart guy for a long time. I don’t consider myself birther or not birther but there are some major questions here and the press just refuses to cover it. Now, if that were somebody else, they’d be covering it and throwing people out of office but they don’t want to cover it. So, it’s interesting. there is a weird — in that same report that was on some of the conservative web sites and I haven’t even confirmed it, Donald, but there was a quote from one of his debates when he was running for state senator, I believe and one of his opponents said, well, this was at the time when the Kenya thing was still on some of his biographies or something and the guy said you went money born here, he said it doesn’t matter if I’m born here, I wasn’t running for president at the time — there was a quote. From him. But the question is whether there was a time in his life where he thought it was more attractive to be a more national type guy and maybe didn’t change the impression that he wasn’t.

I don’t know. Joe, just to finish off, a lot of people want to see his college transcripts. They’re not looking at his marks, his grade, was he a good student. They want to see what they say about place of birth. Those transcripts have disappeared. Nobody seems to be able to get them. I was able to get him to produce a birth certificate, if it was a correct birth certificate. A lot of people have very serious doubts. They want to see his college transcripts because they want to see what he is saying about place of birth. What did he say? Well, he is really stone walling it, to use an old Nixon term, he is really stone walling it when it comes to — he just doesn’t want to give those transcripts. What does he say at Columbia and Harvard and his other college where he supposedly did not get good marks and got into Columbia. What does he say about place of birth? One other thing, the hospital. The mother was never in the hospital. These are minor details but they can’t find any records that the mother was in the hospital. So it’s a tough situation.

Trump’s birther rant came not even 24 hours after Romney reaffirmed his support for the reality television host. Romney said, “You know, I don’t agree with all the people who support me and my guess is they don’t all agree with everything I believe in. But I need to get 50.1 percent or more and I’m appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people.”

The question is how much longer can the Romney campaign play blind, deaf can, and dumb in the face of Trump’s birtherism? Even worse, Donald Trump’s little mental choo-choo went off the tracks just hours before Romney and Trump will appear together at a fundraiser in Las Vegas. Birthers make up a majority of Republican primary voters, but only 13%-17% of Americans believe Obama was not born in the United States. The number of birthers has been sliced almost in half since Obama released his birth certificate.

The reality is that Romney has no chance of moving back to the middle as long as he keeps hanging around with Donald Trump. The Romney folks may think they have found a clever way to use Trump to play to the far right, but all they are doing is costing themselves votes in November. No one is going to believe that birther Mitt and his unholy harem of sister wives is a mad of moderation who can lead this country.

The more Trump talks, the more votes he hands to President Obama in November.

  1. When I lived in NYC many years ago, Trump was my landlord. Not a great landlord, but reasonably sane and businesslike. Wonder what drove him off the rails. Obama’s mom wasn’t in the hospital? Obama is hiding his transcripts? How many times do these questions have to get asked and answered before some folks finally accept the facts? Oh wait– they don’t like the facts so they figure if they keep asking, they’ll get a different result. Isn’t that the definition of insanity?????

  2. And let’s not forget Mitt’s son who was a birther at one time, or Mitt’s meeting with right wing bloggers who are birthers and will serve as the attack machine he can’t afford to make publicly. But he’s proud to stand with Trump. I sincerely wish he would be forced to pick Trump as his running mate.

    Stiff Craven/Dirty Crude 2012; values don’t matter!

  3. So what does Trump have to say about McCain, who was not born in this country? The fact is, Baraqck Obama’s mother was a US citizen, he was raised in America; he was birn in Hawaii. I am not sure what the GOP hopes to accomplish with this garbage, but I pray it doesn’t go any further. And, Donnie? No one I know thinks you are ‘a smart guy.’ A smart ass, maybe, but no smart guy bankrupts casinos.

  4. What an idiot Trump is! Spouting all of the long debunked birther BS.

Oh, and Trumpy-boy should try to get his own mommy’s birth records from Jamaica Hospital. He’ll find they have no record of his mommy being in the hospital either. Hospitals don’t keep records indefinitely.

  5. People may not have noticed. While the Dumpster’s show was on, I don’t recall him talking birtherism. The week the show finished airing — he’s back to his usual BS’er self.

Shows you how the Dumpster is totally $$/ratings oriented. Like Palin – It’s the ‘Me, Me, Me’, as he continues to sell his name to attach to properties that he has absolutely no monetary interest in.

The project in Florida, that people were mislead and put deposits on and it was never built. Last I read they were still fighting for their deposits back.

In Toronto, Canada – the Dumpster family mugs for the camera for breaking ground and all the usual builder photo-ops, for a property/hotel built under the Trump name but no monetary interest. In fact, it was learned that the builder/contractor — had never built a project before – not even a dog house. That’s one hell of a guinea pig project.

Seems Dumpster is still pissed at being made the ‘joke’ at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner – that same weekend Bin Laden was being ‘taken out’. Take a number Donny, like at the fish market – NEXT!!!!

  6. What about the two newspaper notices on Obama’s birth published in Hawaii? Is the Donald suggesting that Obama’s struggling parents faked those? They’re generally picked up by the newspaper from the Hospital so that would be difficult.

This will never end. No amount of proof will ever be sufficient.

  7. Oh, fuck, that’s what happened to all the blond hair Rott cut off that poor Lauber boy! Trump’s toupee is made out of it!

  8. Mitt really thinks he can keep his hands clean on this one. Soon the headlines will be Romney-Birther. Mitt behaves like the kids in high school who sometimes pushed their toadies up to do the dirty work. Of course, he didn’t mind getting his hands dirty where attack and cutting were involved. Everyone knows what Mittens is doing. It will soon bite him–big time.

    By the way—where is Nugent?

  9. being part of the 1%, I don’t think the Donald has ever known that most cities have been decaying into poverty for a very long time. The inner city of Detroit has been going downhill since the 50s. Many large cities who have industries have found that their inner-city has struggled to remain alive while stores and malls grow up on the outside of the city. Donald is just an idiot, this is nothing that started with Obama.

As far as his birtherism the man is just stupid. we all know that he is not doing this because he believes Obama was born someplace else, he is just doing it to bash Obama. Typical Republican. No wait, one day he’s Republican then a Democrat, then a candidate for the presidency then not. He’s just rich that’s all.

  10. The nonsense about then Senator Obama stating in a debate vs. Keyes that “it doesn’t matter where I was born, I’m not running for President” had been debunked repeatedly. You can look at the transcripts from all 3 debates they had and there is nothing even close to those words. It never happened. It was made up by someone on FreeRepublic and we all know how “unbiased” they can be!

Donald wants attention, he’s a publicity whore in the same manner as Palin so he’ll do or say anything that gets him the most attention. He reverted to birtherism because that’s what stirs up the crazies. However, he’s full of shit if he thinks this will help the GOP. Reasonable people don’t want to hear this crap.
I was shocked that Blitzer stood up to Trump and asked him to name names. It’s about time but of course, Trump backs down. Says all the shocking info is on the internet…remember his line about how we wouldn’t believe what his investigators were finding, that we would be shocked. When Blitzer pushed him on it, he said, “it’s all out there, read about it on the internet.”

Trump proves he’s a nutcase every time he opens his mouth, which is far too often.
