Rush Limbaugh Enraged When Michelle Obama Does Something He Can’t: A Push Up

First Rush wants women to put their sex acts on the internet for him but now he’s upset that Michelle Obama did push ups on the Ellen show because it’s on TV.

“Can you imagine Laura Bush getting down on the floor and doing push ups?” He asks incredulously.

Listen here coutesy of Media Matters:

Now, in the real world where we get TV and the internet, and we take birth control pills without reporting to our boss, most of us have seen a woman do pushups. I suspect that while it might be disturbing for a few men, most might either think “Good for her” or – well, I’ll leave that your imagination. Suffice it to say, most men are not going to be horrified.

But Rush is horrified.

It’s okay for him to talk about our medical decisions and call us sluts for opening our mouths, but it’s bad for us to exercise.

I can’t imagine Laura Bush getting down on the floor to do pushups, but then, Laura Bush wasn’t pushing fitness; the former First Lady was so inspired by her husband’s reading abilities and her own librarian background that she made literacy her issue. A fine choice for an elegant and lovely woman.

And now, we have First Lady Michelle Obama who has taken our health under her wings. Another fine choice from another elegant and lovely woman. But Michelle is just so…..

Democratic.

And this makes her a target for right wing hatred. If you don’t believe me, recall Limbaugh’s ugly comments about Chelsea Clinton or just listen to the way Hillary Clinton brings them to near apoplexy.

Bad women like Michelle Obama (Democrats) need to be humiliated and shamed and silenced at any cost. How dare she do pushups as if she were strong! How dare she do it on TV! On the Ellen Show!

What Rush is really mad about is the big party last night. Obama spoke to 600 supporters at the LGBT Leadership Council event last night in Los Angeles, and afterward he darted off to a dinner at Glee creator Ryan Murphy's home in Beverly Hills. The event was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres (yes, of the Ellen Show that so incensed Rush) and everyone who's anyone in gay Hollywood was there. Obama raised $5 million dollars last night.

Here’s what the President said last night that got Rush all aflutter:

I want to thank my wonderful friend who accepts a little bit of teasing about Michelle beating her in pushups — but I think she claims Michelle didn’t go all the way down. That's what I heard. (Takes the audience a few beats for this double entrendre to sink in. Did he really? Why, you can't say he did. But he did.)

I just want to set the record straight — Michelle outdoes me in pushups as well. So she shouldn’t feel bad. She's an extraordinary talent and she's just a dear, dear friend — Ellen DeGeneres. Give Ellen a big round of applause.

It's called wit. In Rush world, "humor" is uber mean and ugly, and invovles calling little girls like Chelsea Clinton names, so naturally the subtlety of Obama's humor both confused and outraged him. I mean, if you're not calling someone a dog, how can it be funny?

Hailing Obama the 'first gay president’, supporters stood in a swell of emotion to cheer him and chanted “Four more years!” So much for the Republicans plan to divide Democrats on gay marriage. Oopsie.

Obama gave credit to his wife for being better at pushups than he is. We can’t have that. And also the gay community uniting behind Obama is not good for Republicans.

Real ladies don’t do pushups. Real ladies give men control over their medical decisions and send Rush tapes of themselves having sex per his request if they dare take birth control.

And real Presidents don’t believe in equal rights for women or gays, and they certainly don't possess a quick, racy adjacent wit. Doh.
