President Obama and First Lady Michell Obama shared a sweet and loving slow dance to Jennifer Hudson’s version of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” at last night’s inaugural ball.

Remember when the President sang a bit of “Let’s Stay Together”? (And no, he didn’t lip sync it, and no I am not surprised that Beyonce did — it’s cold out there!)
Charm offensive complete. Especially because it comes not as a cheap distraction, but followed by real liberal policies. To wit, Obama’s “green team” spend inaugural balls telling folks Obama really meant it when he said climate change was a priority.
Other proof that Obama came out swinging is that Republicans can’t find a single thing to like about his speech, other than to note that he is a skilled speaker. They say this like it’s a bad thing, which only reminds us how important it is and how few Republicans can manage it these days, without putting their legitimate rape in their mouth.
We always suspected second-term Obama would be a bit more of the Obama from his books, freed from the need to campaign again. But who knew he would be riding such a glorious high in public approval ratings? The more Obama kicks Republicans in the obstruction, the better things go for the country and for him.
Obama’s just getting warmed up. This is going to be an interesting four years. And even when things are tough, we have these two amazing people representing us — a First Couple we can admire and be proud of, and a First Family with manners and warmth. Remember, people, we could have Tagg threatening to take a swing at anyone who disagreed with his father, or the Palins hovering nearby in super sparkly stripper shoes topped off with a few assault weapons aimed at anyone who disagreed with them, followed always by taxpayer funded reality TV cameras (that’s trademarked, biotches!).
All hail the Chief! And thank you, America, for voting wisely again.
