The Latest House Republican Benghazi-gasm is So Irrelevant that It’s On C-SPAN 3

The House Oversight and Governmental Affairs Committee is holding a Benghazi hearing that is so irrelevant that it is on C-SPAN 3, and C-SPAN will only offer highlights later.

House Republicans are trying again to turn Benghazi into a major scandal, but outside of right wing media, no one is buying the Republican cries of wolf. House Republicans had their big chance to turn Benghazi into a major scandal when Sec. of State Clinton testified in January, but Clinton ate them alive, as the nation watched and asked themselves, “Why are Republicans screaming about Benghazi?”

House Republicans are not easily deterred by failure, so they are back today claiming, “mismanagement and political coverup.” Recently when asked for evidence of this coverup, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) couldn’t provide any, but this hasn’t stop them from wasting time and taxpayer money investigating a scandal that only exists in their own imaginations.

The bigger problem for the House Republican scandalmongers are boxed in on Benghazi. Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) told MSNBC today, “We need to know were these people culpable or not. If they were, why are they still on the payroll? Other than that, I’ve been able to read all the cables. I’ve seen the films. I feel like I know what happened in Benghazi. I’m fairly satisfied.”

Media attention of their attempts to drum up a scandal has dwindled to the point that C-SPAN’s only live coverage is offered on C-SPAN 3, and C-SPAN itself will only be offering highlights of the hearing later tonight.

It is the scandal that never was, but House Republicans talk about Benghazi in almost sexual terms. For them Benghazi is a cry of Obama conspiracy climax. They appear seductively aroused by blaming President Obama for the deaths of four Americans. Their perversion runs so deep that they keep holding a hearing in search of their Benghazi money shot.

This concept may strike you as sick and twisted, because it is.

A group of Republican Reps. led by Issa and Chaffetz are getting their political rocks off with a warped fantasy of presidential cover up.

The Senate doesn’t care. The media doesn’t care. The American people don’t care, but House Republicans are Benghazi-gasming all over themselves today. It is a good thing that nobody else is watching.
