This is a good tip for how to behave when you are so much more important than the police. Bonus if you do it after one of their own was injured and had to be airlifted to an area hospital, and many of them aren’t even being paid for their work because your party defunded the government.
The U.S. Capitol was on lockdown Thursday after shots were fired outside the complex. Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA), best known for his penchant for keeping experts and truth-tellers from testifying during his televised witch hunts, reportedly barked at Capitol police as he blew past their barricade.
Jeremy W. Peters of the New York Times tweeted, “Rep. Darrell Issa just barked at Capitol Police, “Let me by. I’m going though” as he blows past barricade.”

Who cares about the safety of the public or the security plans of the police — Darrell Issa needed to get through. Warning: Don’t try this if you are an Occupier, a union member, a liberal of any sort, have not been accused of car theft, and are not on the taxpayer dime because this kind of lawlessness is reserved for the privileged few.
Issa didn’t even pull the “Don’t you know who I am?” card. Darrell Issa is just too cool for civility of any kind.
Igor Volsky at Think Progress reported on the slimy behavior of another Republican. Rep. Tim Griffin (R-AK) tweeted right after the shooting, “Stop the violent rhetoric President Obama, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. #Disgusting”
He has since apologized: “The shooting today is a terrible and inexcusable tragedy and an act of terroism. No one but the shooter is to blame. I tweeted out of emotion but agree that the timing was not helpful.”
The lockdown has been lifted. There are conflicting reports regarding the female suspect: Some outlets report that she is in custody while others report that she is dead. There’s no word on her motive yet.
We can only hope Republicans keep up the great leadership in times of crisis, both real and most often, manufactured.
Update 6:09 PM: The female suspect is confirmed dead.
