The Democratic National Committee seized on Chris Christie’s imploding Bridgegate scandal today. They’ve already released a video clip of Christie saying he’ll show D.C. “how it’s done,” and then CNN’s John King saying many are comparing Christie to Nixon. Ouch.
“They’re saying this guy sounds like Richard Nixon, he sounds vindictive…”

The Republican Governor made sure his scandal wouldn’t go away today by blaming his staff for the petty revenge bullying behind the deliberate closure of a lane on the bridge that ended up causing real harm to several people who needed medical care, tragically including a 91-year-old woman dying.
Christie is indeed showing D.C. how it’s done, Nixon style — in case anyone forgot.
Unless he’s implicated directly, Christie can still run for President in 2016 and Democrats will have plenty of fun running ads like the above.
Christie’s real problem is that he has been caught on tape being a bully repeatedly, and he in fact revels in the image. It’s a big part of his appeal to the GOP base. The problem is that the rest of America doesn’t want a vindictive bully in the White House. It’s just not presidential.
