Benghazi. Obamacare. Gun grabbing. These are just a few reasons grassroots activists on the right gave in a rally cry to all the anti-Obama supporters who want to impeach the POTUS for violating the Constitution. For weeks, at conservative sites, Teabaggers were preparing to move en masse to Washington D.C. to stand up to the oppressive regime, with more than 30 million angry, mostly white males, to Washington D.C. with nearly 1/10 of the U.S. population…well, only 1/10,000,000 or 30 people showed up…to quote Homer Simpson: D’oh!

So what went wrong? Even with all the free advertising and mentions on the radio and T.V., as well as the right winged media pundits rehashing all the lies and stupidity, where were the people? One rumor floating around the Interweb was the Obama Administration was going to confiscate their guns if they left their home for the protest. Other rumors were, this was just a test run. My theory is that there aren’t that many teabaggers out there and news organizations just blow the news like this all out of proportion.

Back in April 2013, Moral Monday was formed in North Carolina as a way to end the inequality and promote equity at the State level. At the last Moral Monday March, there were more than 80,000 to 100,000 protesters at the State capital. More than 1500 Friends and fellow members from the Unitarian Universalist denomination protested at the march and six members were arrested including Rev. John Saxon, lead minister of the U.U. Fellowship of Raleigh N.C.

The protest was a success and now, there is an interest to expand Moral Monday outside of North Carolina. Currently a march against Monsanto is in the works world wide and coordinators expect hundreds of thousands or even millions to attend. A spread sheet containing more than 340 rows of cities shows where the march will be on May 24. All six inhabited continents will be marching against the genetic modification of our food and the air is charged with excitement.

So why the failure? Rush Limbaugh is on more than 600 stations nationwide, Fox News is on every cable and satellite provider while MSNBC is sometimes considered part of a premium package, why the failure? Maybe because the right was destined to fail and their only reason for their existence is to cause a distraction. Whenever the right tried to protest, they ended up as losers. Look back in history. First there was the Whiskey Rebellion, probably the first right winged anti tax libertarian protest and George Washington saved the day. Then there was the Civil War, overturning Plessy vs. Ferguson…it seems that the right will never win.

Then after the rally to impeach President Obama failed, the right winged sites chimed in:

Washington Times: Operation American Spring falls flat: ‘This is very disappointing,’ Texan says

The Blaze: Operation American Spring’ Comes to Washington, Was Only Millions Short of Projected Turnout

Yet the emotions of 30 million people that organizers were speculating had them excited and the well-planned event according to the conservative site Personal Liberty Digest, which included a three-phase plan by retired Army Col. Harry Rile, the brainchild of the brain-dead idea was probably dreaming of some sort of revolution.

Oh and here is the plan:

Concept of Operations:

Phase 1 – Field millions, as many as ten million, patriots who will assemble in a peaceful, non-violent, physically unarmed (Spiritually/Constitutionally armed), display of unswerving loyalty to the US Constitution and against the incumbent government leadership, in Washington, D.C., with the mission to bring down the existing leadership. Go full-bore, no looking back, steadfast in the mission.

Phase 2 – One million or more of the assembled 10 million must be prepared to stay in D.C. as long as it takes to see Obama, Biden, Reid, McConnell, Boehner, Pelosi, and Attorney General Holder removed from office. The senior republican in the US House of Representatives will become Speaker of the House and the US House of Representatives will elect a temporary President and Vice President of the United States. The U.S. Senate will take action to elect a new majority and minority leader.
As required, the U.S. Congress will execute appropriate legislation to convene new elections or U.S. States will appoint replacements for positions vacated consistent with established constitutional requirements.

Phase 3 – Those with the principles of a West, Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, Lee, DeMint, Paul, Gov Walker, Sessions, Gowdy, Jordan, will comprise a tribunal and assume positions of authority to convene investigations, recommend appropriate charges against politicians and government employees to the new U.S. Attorney General appointed by the new President.

Phase One did not even make it out of the gate, and there was probably more law enforcement than protesters, and a quick check of the various conservative sites and comments nets nothing…except for conspiracy theories:

Washington Times reader: 01) Yes. I agree, the Feds fired-up HAARP. However, do not let this be an end to this noble movement. Restart! Frankly, I wish the event had been staged locally, and at state capitals, in compliment to the DC event. I think what “scared-off” potential attendees was the logistics of a supposed-rally of 30 million–that’s roughly 10% of the population! Similar anti-Barry events in DC have been MUCH more successful and noteworthy. This one, thought noble, proved a terrible embarrassment, only ennobling and enabling the tyrant-in-chief and his minions. The failure here wasn’t in cause, but in planning and forethought and the failure of a supportive conservative press. Restart!

Washington Times reader: 02)You are a f…n moron, we have a dictator in our white house along with other criminals and you call these Brave Patriots Crazies? Listen you f…n coward, these men are fighting for our rights and freedoms, if you do NOT like our Country and what it stands for then get the F…k OUT and go live in a communist Country.
Do you understand that? Moron!!!

Washington Times reader: 03)Look at the Jeff Sessions time line of all the illegal changes BO has made just to the immigrant laws. Then there is Fast and Furious, the IRS targets and audits, Benghazi, guns to terrorists. Sure looks like a dictator from here.

Yet none of those on the right critiqued the failure of the rally but instead deflected the failure to more Obama bashing. Still, it was interesting how we on the left can mobilize and get the people moving while the right complains about Obama and the Democratic Party. Even funnier, if the left were to push for impeaching Obama, we would attract hundreds if not thousands to the same spot. The Teabagger party, as well as the conservative right, are failing and to quote computer gamers, the rally to impeach Obama is an Epic Fail.

  1. I wonder if anyone sees the irony of an ex-NSA guy planning a government uprising on the Internet. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I wonder if someone is making money off these idiots.?
$1.00 for every idiot that shows up.
$5.00 for every idiot that speaks to media.

  3. They will have another “Rally ” to start a revolution, but this time it will be different , they will have it in a day that doesn’t end in ” Y “

  4. Crowd seemed a bit sparse, eh?
I guess “patriotic” tea-chugging seditionists are an endangered species.

  5. It was pretty obvious this was a failure when the ‘leader’ was streaming from a truck 10 miles away..and when you can ‘t even get a Beck or a Hannity to come spout lies with you, well, you’re pretty much not important. Was there ever a plan for what these people were supposed to DO in DC, other than Occupy (I thought the right hated the Occupy movement, now they want their own??)
Get your act together GOP. Or don’t. We kind of like the chaos.

  6. Funny how the right is always telling the left to “get the f**k out of the country.” That’s their ultimate goal, to turn America into a theocratic plutocracy. Their vision of a “conservative utopia” scares the hell out of me. They must be stopped.

  7. I had a dream that 1/2 million did show up. They were armed, they marched on the White House. Bad things rained from the sky. There was pain and death. The survivors said they were sorry, picked up Krispy Kremes and went home. Dreams are just so weird.

  8. Obama was going to confiscate their guns if they left their home for the protest? It takes a special kind of tea bag to believe that one. These people are not fighting for anyones rights. They are there at the behest of the 1% who wants our government. What these people fight for is us having no rights at all with the group on insane clown posse that they wanted to put in charge.

Hopefully Rile has been shown to be the idiot he really is. The fact that people sucked up the things he said shows America isnt out of the woods with the twit of the day content

  9. I wonder what federal benefits this “retired army colonel” is collecting and whether seditious acts disqualifies him from said benefits. These MFers want to take food from hungry people etc etc, how about we play tit for tit. To quote Willy Wonka – “You get nothing, you lose! Good day sir!”

  10. The rank and file couldn’t get there because their trucks are up on cinder blocks, their food stamps were cut, they have no jobs so they couldn’t even fill the truck up with gas to get there. Many of them couldn’t locate Washington DC on a map, let alone afford a GPS device to toke them there. And there’s the logistics of taking meth and dope across state lines. Think I’m exaggerating? This is the area I left behind when I left rural Indiana.

People there were so geographically illiterate than one student couldn’t locate Indiana on a map, let alone Washington DC. (You pronounce it Warshington)

Of my graduating class, only 5% went to college. 24% dropped out. I knew more girls who dropped out to have kids than who went on to college. They are now grandparents.

This is your rank and file of the tea party. This is why you can’t see a rally without misspelled signs.

  11. Stupidity, ignorance, and extreme gullibility are the main characteristics of a typical rabid Tea Party member. I think most Tea Party members are cowards who are very paranoid. They believed the hype about gun confiscation, violence, and general mayhem that Obama would inflict on them if they showed up in Washington, D.C, so they stayed home watched Fox Noise. They are not patriots or even good citizens. They are useful idiots for the Koch brothers, and traitors and seditionists against our country. If any of them are receiving government benefits of any kind, they should be cut off immediately.

  12. They had a 3 step plan. I went like this:
    1) Show Up
    2) Remove Obama, Pelosi, etc. from office
    3) Install Ted Cruz, Dr Ben Carson, and Allen West (in what positions it was not noted)

Nothing sez “I love my country and the Constitution like the violent overthrow of a democratically elected government and the installation of hand picked successors.”

  13. “The senior republican in the US House of Representatives will become Speaker of the House and the US House of Representatives will elect a temporary President and Vice President of the United States.” These constitutional scholars don’t realize that the order of succession is clearly spelled out it the constitution. House of Reps does not elect any temporary President or Vice-President. Idiots!!!!

  14. Yes these IDIOTS are SOOO American! SOOO Patriotic and yet that one moron holds the standard upside down! He is probably too stupid to realize that that act is the most disrespectful thing you can do to our flag short of burning it. He should have been arrested on the spot. If I were there I would have taken that flag from him even if I had to break his hands in the process.

  15. 1. a rumor started that Obama was going g to take away their guns
since this was advertised as a peaceful, non violent, non gun carrying protests, why would he take what was not suppose to be there?
    2. a regime is a government formed when an elected government is over browned by a military coup. president Obama was elected, twice. that’s a democracy.
    3. wanting to replace politicians who were voted into office by voters with politicians not elected by voters.for that office IS a regime! idiots, the whole lot.of them.

  16. These racist sons and daughters of racist bastards and bitches, really hate the thought of a black man elected and then reelected as President of the United States of America by the majority of American citizens. These people are just every day republicans. The hateful, hate filled, hate mongering, haters that are ignorant republican racists. The GOP, haters and liars. Every single one of them.

  17. Would you rather it carry on as it is and become a socialist country? You left winger baby killers are in for a sad surprise in thr near future with where this country is headed. If the weekend protest had been for gay rights or abortion rights, you would have been all for that. Each side has the freedom of speech…..for now.

  18. Socialist country? My but you are good with the cliches

American spring was about you supporting the 1% that wants to run this coutnry. And thats exactly what the people they wanted to put in power would do. You are nothing but a shill for the rich

  19. My favorite sick thing you said was “you left wing baby killers” right there you showed complete and total ignorance. If any thing the left has been the only ones who have defended things like PROPER PRE-NATAL CARE from doctors and Planned Parenthood. But I will cut you some slack Gina, you obviously have been given your talking points from the Joseph Goebbels channel and Whirled Nut Daily.

  20. First of all, do you know the definition of socialist?

Secondly, I would rather live in a Socialist country than an oligarchy. People who support the 1% are nothing but tools. If they won, they would spit on you. Have more respect for yourself.

  21. Pete, must have been something out there in the ether last night. I had a dream that Dick Cheney and I were on my deck drinking Sam Adams and he was talking sense. The strangest thing was I don’t have a deck, I think Dick was sensible because of the beer. After I woke up I smoked a bowl and watched an episode of ENTERPRISE on Blu-Ray and all was well once more.

  22. Please just tell us one way in which America is becoming a socialist country. Just once I want to know exactly what the heck they are talking about.

  23. What is humours here is that these wingnuts were planning an event that parts of the Constitution were specifically written to avoid such things. If fact the “Militia that was written into the second amendment, and of which they try to avoid, was a state militia that were dedicated to protecting the state from this exact kind of event. Well that and slave patrols in the south.

Yeah theys really loves their Constitution.

  24. Operation FAIL! is more like it. “We will take back our government… weather permitting!” They should follow a real colonel, like Colonel Sanders. If they did, they would have the taste of delicious chicken in their mouths, rather than the bitter taste of failure.

  25. That article is a giant crock of propaganda. No thanks. Millions are not losing their insurance. What that fraud doesnt tell you is that 99% of them went onto a new upgraded policy. Peddle that stuff elsewhere, we already know whats happening

  26. Still, it was interesting how we on the left can mobilize and get the people moving while the right complains about Obama and the Democratic Party.

You know what’s even more interesting? How the right can mobilize and get people voting in mid-term elections, while the left stays home and complains about Obama not being left-wing enough.

If Democrats don’t keep the Senate this year, they will only have themselves to blame.

  27. Maybe the Obama supporters have better turnouts and time to protest because they don’t have to hold down a job. All the “grass roots” people have to work at least 40 hours a week to pay for all of those that don’t work.

  28. “Even funnier, if the left were to push for impeaching Obama, we would attract hundreds if not thousands to the same spot.”

    I wouldn’t bet on it. And I don’t think that’s particularly funny.

  29. Good to have one or two of you imbeciles who make up the lunatic right wing fringe show up here to reinforce our determination to stifle you and remind us just insane you all truly are. Thanks!

  30. A typical, ignorant, imbecilic comment from one of the right wing lunatic fringe. Another reminder for us how little you all know and how stupid you all are.

  31. Ummm Karen, if you take your blinders off, you probably wouldn’t find yourself in a face palm so readily.

  32. That is a pretty ignorant statement. How do you justify saying President Obama supporters don’t hold jobs? That is one of the old, tired, vitriol statements that the Right uses when they can’t admit their ideas are toast to the rest of the country.

I for one am a supporter of President Obama and I work more than 40 hours a week. Get off the Fox news bandwagon, you might be surprised that you have been in the fog so long.

  33. Karen, if you really want to say who the people are that don’t work, take a long hard look at Congress. Now that is a prime example of an absent work ethic. They take tax payer money, get luxury benefits, don’t even work 1/2 year, or a full day, and do nothing constructive. They are a great example of other people having to support them.

  34. Dem,
Do you really want Congress to work any more? They have already passed more unnecessary, intrusive and wasteful laws working part time then we will ever be able to afford.
    Bob.

  35. Shiv,
Estimates run from 50% and up that the people who signed up for O’care and actually made the first payment already had insurance. So if 4 million people (quite a stretch) already had insurance, but the government deemed their ability to by a product that they wanted and could afford to pay for was taken from them because a group if legislatures decided they could not make their own conscious decision given the market place, that the the legislatures were better qualified to make that decision for them, how is this good for people. The tired argument that it is better care/policy is a thinly veiled excuse for the government in league with the healthcare lobbyists to take more control of this grossly bloated and over regulated industry.
    Bob.

  36. Ah, one of the questions on Obamacare that will disqualify you is do you have insurance or does your job supply it.

Not sure where you get those estimates from, but I am betting WND

  37. Dammit! I know they said the rally was in Washington but they didn’t say if it was by the Space Needle or near Microsoft’s headquarters.

  38. Shiv,
That was funny, I had never heard of WND, I had to look that up. I am assuming you mean World Net Daily.
    Bob.

  39. Defer to whom ever you wish. And judging the ACA worth well before its matured is positively irresponsible

  40. These teabaggers should have taken a clue from Larry Klayman’s abortive march on Washington… with about 30 supporters. If you didn’t hear about that, I’m not surprised.

  41. Each side has freedom of speech… it’s just that the loony side either chose not to use it or there’s not enough of them to make a difference any more.

  42. I guess it didn’t occur to you folks that the reason for the low turnout for OAS is that conservatives avoided it like the plague. The Tea Party Movement is all for restoring Constitutionally limited government through the electoral process, NOT overthrowing the government.

I happen to know Colonel Riley, he’s a well meaning guy, but he blew it with this OAS fiasco! I’m a military veteran as well and my oath of enlistment was/is to defend the Constitution, not usurp it and that’s what these well meaning, but misguided OAS folks are attempting to accomplish and I won’t support them!

  43. The constitution does not call for limited government. That is complete bull. Most of the founders were in favor of a strong central government. The constitution was not written for states rights, but for states representation in part becuase the large states wanted more say then the small states
As for the tea party, its only mission in life now is religious fundamentalism

  44. Not so, Shiva. The Constitution created a limited federal government, restrained to specific enumerated powers. Article I lists the powers of Congress, Article II lists the powers of the Executive branch and Article III lists the powers of the Judiciary branch. Each branch was designed to assure checks and balances as a way to limit government power and abuses. The Tenth Amendment to the Bill of Rights notes that the states/people retain those powers not delegated to the federal government.

I’m ignoring your Tea Party barb as it has absolutely no bearing in the discussion.

  45. You need to go back to summer school. The founders wrote the Constitution to have a strong central government. That is why they did away with the articles of confederation.

  46. djchefron, the Articles of Confederation had inherent weaknesses that the Constitution corrected.

    From: http://www.constitutionfacts.com/us-articles-of-confederation/the-great-debate/

The Weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation were:

    1. Each state only had one vote in Congress, regardless of size
    2. Congress didn’t have the power to tax, or to regulate foreign and interstate commerce
    3. There was no executive branch to enforce any acts passed by Congress
    4. There was no national court system
    5. Amendments to the Articles of Confederation required a unanimous vote
    6. Laws required a 9/13 majority to pass in Congress

The Bill of Rights was included in the Constitution at the insistence of the Anti-Federalists.

  47. What you dont mention is that there was only 1 house in the congress. There was no separation of powers and the articles provided for a very weak central government.

The large states still carried more weight in that system. Indeed as the constitution was being written many wanted to keep it that way.

  48. What they was trying to do doesn’t change why they were doing it. People came before the Government and we created the government. Not the other way around. They do still fear us or else they wouldn’t have to reach so low to try and divide us to conquer us. This will only go so far. This nation was built with God. So have faith in God, not our Government, because none is greater than He!!! If you keep feeding into what MSNBC, the Government and others who are pushing all this propaganda, then one day you will wake up and your right to post what you posted on here will be gone. You have to pass it to see what is in it. This is a con, not transparency. Sen. Ted Cruz just announced that 41 Democrats have co-sponsored a bill to appeal the !st Amendment to where the news stations will be free to say what they will but we the people and organization maybe prosecuted and they will be voting on it soon. This is the Government you idiots are supporting. Thieving, lawbreaking, race mongers. Mo…

  49. You know thats complete bullshit. This nation was not built on any god.
The amendment to the 1st does one thing. It prevents people from buying the goverment with vast amounts of money. It doesnt effect your 1st amendment rights. It overturned Citizens United that allows the very richest to have more say then you. It has nothing to do with news stations or anything else. Stop listening to idiots like Cruz
