Bobby Jindal Signs Latest Blow in War on Women in Louisiana Church

bobby-jindalSo Bobby Jindal not only signed oppressive new abortion restrictions, he signed them in a CHURCH, signaling not only his alignment in the war on women, but in the war on the United States Constitution.

MSNBC’s Irin Carmoon reported Thursday,

At a Baptist church today, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal signed into law legislation requiring that abortion providers have admitting privileges at local hospitals. The legislation is also expected close several legal abortion clinics.

Amy Irvin, board member of the New Orleans Abortion Fund, which helps low income women access abortion, told msnbc the law would restore a “pre-Roe v. Wade condition.”

So there you go. To paraphrase Davey Crocket, Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court, all you all can go to hell. we’re going to the 1950s.

Oh, and we’re going to use the Constitution as toilet paper.

No, the First Amendment isn’t even a passing fancy in Louisiana. Deborah Foster has already introduced us to the law Jindal signed – HB 388 – which will make Jindal and his cronies accessories to murder, but now the Louisiana governor is thumbing his nose at the First Amendment’s restrictions on the establishment of religion.

Will Red States legislatures start holding their sessions in churches now, just to rub it in against everyone who dares to be something other than fake Christians like them?

The pretense of the law, of course, is that it will protect women. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Medical Association (AMA) begs to differ. And they would know, wouldn’t they?

I mean, Republicans are not scientists. Just ask them.

Only an idiot doesn’t see what is really going on here, and what truly motivates these religious terrorists, and it isn’t a concern for women, unless that concern is limited to what women do with their vaginas.

It’s a shame they don’t have a matching concern for what men do with their penises.

And these oppressive Taliban-like laws are spreading. America becomes less America and more Afghanistan with each passing day Republicans remain in control at any level of government.

And they say they’re patriots.

If they were patriots, wouldn’t they avoid casting themselves as Talibangelicals and try harder to be Americans? To actually read the United States Constitution, not just use it as a handy noun? To support the idea every Amendment counts, not just the Second or Tenth, and that those amendments, especially the First, apply to everybody, and not just their conception of Christian?

Keep wishing. They have declared war on women, on the U.S. Constitution, on minorities, on children, on education, on the environment – on America itself. They want to turn our country into some pissant backwater, good ole boy Old Testament theocracy where only one page in ten of the Bible is actually read and only one page in ten of that is understood.

And they are doing it. Before our eyes.

The South is just their test case but it’s hardly the only case. We have already been introduced to the idea that judges have to obey so-called “Biblical law” rather than the actual law. You know, the United States Constitution.

That’s not to minimize the South’s descent into the 13th century:

As the ACLU explains,

The Louisiana laws are part of a nationwide plan to pass restrictions that will shut down women’s health centers and prevent women from accessing safe and legal abortions. In addition to the Texas law, Mississippi, Alabama, and Wisconsin have recently passed similar laws. Those laws have been challenged. Trial in the Alabama case started on May 19, and the Wisconsin case began on May 27. The Mississippi law, which would force the only remaining clinic in the state to close, was argued before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on April 28. The Oklahoma legislature passed and sent a similar admitting privileges bill to the governor.

If they pull this off, Lincoln wasted his time at Gettysburg and the most costly war in American history was all for naught.

And this isn’t the only blow coming the way of Louisiana women, and after them, the women of every state in the Union. As the Times-Picayune reports,

House Bill 305, sponsored by Rep. Frank Hoffman, R-West Monroe, would prohibit abortion providers or their affiliates, including Planned Parenthood, to instruct or distribute information on health related issues, such as sex eduction [sic], at public or charter schools.

Bobby Jindal is proud as he can be of his status of patriarch:

I am proud to sign these bills because they will help us continue to protect women and the life of the unborn in our state. These new laws will give women the health and safety protections they deserve and continue to make Louisiana a state that values individual human life.

Right. Health and safety protections. And the mental hygiene polices – not to mention the feminine hygiene police – in every woman’s vagina. Because, it’s not like Louisiana has any real problems Jindal could be spending his time fixing.

I mean, it’s not like Louisiana ranks 48th on a list of 50 of states most dependent on the federal government or anything. As Rmuse wrote here the other day, Red States are moocher states.

And Republicans in the deep South – in the Old Confederacy – want us to subsidize their War on Women.

Jindal and his cronies don’t want their tax dollars spent on abortions but they want our tax dollars spent on them. And he’s using those tax dollars to turn American women into residents of Kabul, while the men party in Las Vegas.

  1. Booby Jindal was the one who said “we’ve got to stop being the party of stupid” and has gleefully continued to act stupid.

As for any smart people in Louisiana: leave. Especially women. Let Louisiana descend into the state of knuckle draggers that it’s inevitably becoming.

That goes for any liberal in a sea of red. You can’t fix stupid, they’ve decided to go full retard in many of those areas. Give them the brain drain they deserve.

  2. Well I guess witch doctors will find plenty of demand in the south for their skills! Jindal and southern conservatives could care less about the health of women.

  3. Get up off your a$$es and vote, people! If you like being treated like chattel and inferior to men, then keep voting these morons into office. If you’re fed up with the way they treat women, vote them out!

  4. Jindal is a poster child for birth control. The federal government needs to start pulling funding from these states. None of those ignorant redneck states could last over 30 days.

  5. It seems to me that this is all unconstitutional. The money you spend on an abortion or on women’s health is your expression of 1st amendment rights.

This could be an excellent case in the Supreme Court. They will have to draw a line

  6. In other news, NASA reports that at least a ten-foot sea level rise is inevitable. There isn’t going to be much Louisiana.

  7. They want it to go to the Supreme Court. Are you kidding? They think with Roberts and his CU cronies, they can get Roe overturned. They’ve been planning this for decades. The GOP is just evil. They care nothing about anyone not white and male (not sure how Jindal thinks HE counts with them, actually.)
They pretend to be Christians, but they are not religious. They use God like they use the 2nd amendment..a propaganda point. So how do we stop this evil? How are we going to get America back from these creepy, mean, selfish SOBs?

  8. I think they want that too..they will attribute anything bad happening to God’s judgement on the USA for allowing abortion and electing a Muslim communist whatever. Seriously, the derangement of these folks is grounds for sedition charges. They also somehow believe in the fantasy of “Left Behind,” and that their actions will get them swept up into heaven. Please, God, take them now!

  9. Is this what Louisiana wanted? How many Louisiana voters wanted this idiot in office? How many Louisiana voters voted for him? How many Louisiana voters voted AT ALL? Do you people in Louisiana see where I’m going with this? If you don’t like him, vote him out. If you are too lazy to get out and vote, QUIT BITCHING!

  10. I just checked the Times-Picayune, the NOLA newspaper and the Baton Rouge Advocate and this story was no where to be found. The only thing mentioning Jindal was his veto of an educational bill. Seems he favors doing away with any educational standards. Yep, keep them stupid and voting republican.

  11. There is no way to overstate the importance of elections at ANY level. People like Bobby Jindhal are doing enormous damage at state and local levels. They were elected both because of the ignoramuses who voted against their own best interests and those who oppose them but stayed home either out of pique or apathy. The Republican party has devolved into one that’s best suited for the 18th century and earlier, and they make no bones about it. While the GOP may be in danger of going the way of the Whig party, they are wreaking a lot of destructive havoc in the meantime. All of us who oppose them need to GET OUT AND VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE OR KEEP THEM FROM OFFICE!!

  12. Could you imagine being married to one of these RW WOMEN HATERS? Some Christian churches teach women to be submissive to their husbands! They separate them at services, putting the men at the front and the women in the back. Women do not speak at church, only the men! There is a deep seeded hatred that some men have for the women liberation move because they want to feel superior and in charge! We all know they are not of course and they do too…..I think it’s past time for women to only date liberals……someone who see’s you as a equal partner!

  13. The new Slavery is announced in Louisiana. All women of breeding age must register with the Minister of Vaginas.

Next week: burqas and rape marriage.

  14. The “elite” 1% and their bought and paid for GOP mindless zombie slaves and followers are feeding off of all the citizens and residents of the U.S.A.. And they will not stop until they have consumed every last one of us. We have no choice but to stop them. In my opinion.

  15. It’s time for Governors like Jindal and Kasich to be aborted by voters. Ohio has been the testing ground for bills that hate women. cosmopolitan.com/advice/health/ohio-abortion-laws

Governor kasich is, I suspect, using his JobsOhio to fund his own campaign. No one is allowed to ask any questions at all about where the money from this account is being spent. Ohio’s Supreme Court said so. It looks like the expression “As goes Ohio So Goes the Nation” is true in more ways than one. Please donate to Ohio’s democratic candidate for governor Ed Fitzgerald.

  16. Mr Sizemore, what leads you to believe these people didnt or havent voted?
The politicians say anything to get your vote and then renig on anything they want to. Get out and vote. Yes. Everyone needs to vote but that doesnt mean stupid men will do what they say they’ll do once elected. get my drift?

  17. I know we can use all of those unwanted babies, keep them till there grown and use them for -parts.it all makes sense now. idiots I know if my wife became(with child)and she had to give birth.I would not keep it.

  18. Oh this would all be so much easier and less contentious if these people would get it through their thick skulls that these decisions are MINE to make.

    My body. My choice.

    End of discussion.

  19. IMHO, I think Jindal is trying to convince people that he isn’t a Muslim or some “other” religion practiced in India. The chances of him being christian are doubtful IMHO but he probably doesn’t want to incur the wrath of the people like President Obama did just because his skin wasn’t white.

  20. What a butt head….this is not the way to win nomination for your party…much less the presidency…I think there needs to be indictments for overstepping bounds.

  21. He’s already on his way out as a lame duck. He is trying to drag the state down with him. It will take 50 years to undo what Piyush Jindal has done to the state of Louisiana. What we want to know is where is the millions that BP paid to clean the Gulf? Where did all of that money go? Into Jindal’s presidential election fund? He is on his way out but he is doing his very best to enslave the women of Louisiana. He could have helped out 242,000 by adding them to the Medicaid rolls and helping them with insurance, but he would rather watch those folks die without insurance. Piyush Jindal is the worst thing to happen to Louisiana, not withstanding the BP oil spill. Both will take decades to recover from. Jindal is shitting all over the state he proclaims to love. How much you want to bet that when his term as governor is over he moves his family back to Washington, D.C. lickety-split?

  22. i think that more than a few of these southern asshole repubs need to be taken out into the bayou and “oops”, be accidentally but permanently lost.

  23. It’s part of the punishment of women for having unwanted pregnancies. As if the women got pregnant all on their own. . . .

  24. Now you know that Piyush is actually GIVING more options to women by taking from them. That is the logic of Bobby and his ilk, you should thank us for punishing you!!! That “law” is not legal one iota,it was a clear and present contemptuous violation of the separation of church and state.
