Ben Carson’s Embarrassingly Stupid Attack on Obamacare

Ben_Carson
We are not done talking about the The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), otherwise known as Affordable Care Act (ACA) or “Obamacare.” Not by a long shot. You can be it will figure prominently in the Republican narrative leading up to the 2016 presidential election.

Retired surgeon Ben Carson is one of the many Republicans potentially running for the highest office in the land. He has even gone to Israel to prove he must be taken seriously, saying, “I think having real life experience in the region as opposed to just book learning is extremely helpful in terms of putting things into perspective.”*

More critically, he has said, like every other Republican presidential candidate in recent years, that he “feels fingers” from God telling him to run. Remember, Sarah Palin had these, Michele Bachmann had these, Rick Perry had these.

Earlier this month, this potential messiah who prefers real life experience to, say, reading, demanded that Obamacare be put up to a re-vote, writing at World Net Daily that it “was forced upon the unsuspecting American people through political manipulation and deception.”

More recently, he denounced Obamacare as unconstitutional on the grounds that it must “promote the general welfare” of the nation, but does not.

That is indeed what we find in the preamble to the United States Constitution:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Carson doesn’t see the Affordable Care Act doing that. He says it only helps some people and then only at the expense of others (like subsidies to oil companies, Ben?). So he told Andy Parks of the Washington Times that:

“Your solution should be something that represents all the people. The Constitution says one of the purposes, in the preamble, it says is for the ‘promote the general welfare.’ What that means is that we do things that help everybody, we don’t pick this group and say, ‘We’re going to help you at the expense of this group over here.’ That’s not promoting the general welfare so we’re actually violating the Constitution in that sense.”

Carson is contending that Obamacare does not benefit everyone. One wonders if he has actually ever read the law. If he is going to be president, he will have to get used to doing that – reading legislation. We do realize that Republicans tend not to do such things – read legislation, listen to speeches, attend important meetings that explain the things they like to complain about. But it really is essential for the leader of the world’s most powerful nation, to have some passing understanding of the things he talks about.

So let me help Ben out here. Peruse the law’s table of contents and you’ll see the following:

TITLE I—QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL AMERICANS

Subtitle A—Immediate Improvements in Health Care Coverage for All Americans

Subtitle C—Quality Health Insurance Coverage for All Americans

Subtitle D—Available Coverage Choices for All Americans

Subtitle E—Affordable Coverage Choices for All Americans

TITLE X—STRENGTHENING QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL AMERICANS

So let’s just humor Ben for a moment that the Constitution really means a law must help everybody to be constitutional (I can think of dozens that do not). Oh, well that’s just embarrassing…

Now keep in mind that Carson is the guy who said women’s liberation is to blame for Ferguson, because apparently a woman’s hands were all over a white male cop gunning down an unarmed black youth. Or something. He also said that gay rights and pro-choice activists are “enemies of America” because, you know, when it comes to gays and women, the “general welfare” suddenly does NOT include everybody, but only a few.

According to Carson, by trying to extend our liberties to more people, like gays and women, we “incite people to anger and to hatred.”

I get the idea that neither reading nor learning from personal experiences are Ben’s forte. In the vernacular, Ben Carson cannot hold Barack Obama’s jockstrap.

I don’t think anyone seriously considers Ben Carson a frontrunner in 2016. The field is already too full of people just like him. Seriously, if we want to be laughed at by other nations, we can do better, and elect somebody who doesn’t even know where he is, like Rick Perry, or Michele Bachmann. I mean, why not just put Sarah Palin in the White House if that is our goal?

Oh, and unlike Pat Robertson or Gordon Klingenschmitt, Ben Carson did make the final four in the 2014 Equine Posterior Award. Consider voting for him, just to let him know he hasn’t been forgotten by us “inciters.”

Meanwhile, best get used to the idea of seeing his name pop up more and more in the news. But seriously, GOP? If you’re serious about this whole 2016 thing, you’re going to have to do a whole lot better than this.

Next!

Notes:
* The Washington Post explains that, “Over the years, Israel has become an established campaign stop for many presidential contenders. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. — who is the object of 2016 speculation despite repeated denials she is planning a White House run — traveled last month to several Middle Eastern countries, including Israel. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Vice President Joe Biden both visited Israel earlier this year, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) has traveled there three times in 2014 alone.”

  1. So Carson …feels fingers from God, does he?

I think he confuses “God” with his proctologist.
It’s an easy mistake to make
    …for an as*hole.

  2. There’s a few Carsonites out there. None of them intelligent. Most still think Obamacare is government insurance

And none of them actually listen to Carsons words. In trying so hard to be a tea bag, Carson like others has let intelligence slide out his ears onto the pavement

  3. So, if Ben is right, the obvious solution is Medicare for all. That way no one is left out and everyone gets equal care.

  4. Are we sure this man is intelligent? Or is he just a ‘book-learned’ college graduate who can’t really think. I work
with a few. Got the degree but dumber than a bag of hammers. [WINK]

  5. He will be this year’s Herman Cain, an intelligent man with real accomplishments in his field of expertise, but hopelessly ignorant in every single issue having anything to do with government.

This notion of deciding to run for elected office and start with, oh, let’s say the presidency is such a damn waste of everybody’s time.

If you can’t show that you have some experience in having to work with others to govern, run for any office you like, except the presidency of the United States of America, population 330,000,000!

Oh, and like Cain, he is towing enough baggage to sink the Titanic all over again. In Carson’s case, a glorious star-spangled ignorance of everything connected to the constitution, how government works, what people need, and what exactly a life of slavery was like in comparison to the horrendous burden of having health care.

  6. “I mean, why not just put Sarah Palin in the White House if that is our goal?”

Well, on the bright side, it would only last 2 years at most if she ever got in the White House.

  7. I think this guy’s ego is occupying about 70% of his brain. Doesn’t leave much room for common sense or rational thinking.

  8. I just got a culture shock, a tea party update email landed in my in-box, I opened it out of curiosity, it was saying the Obamacare law was going to ruin the country, but the greatest shock was the comments, I don’t think I have read such vile disgusting rubbish about the president
since he has been in office, if this is the way these people talk I want nothing to do with them – ever!

  9. its interesting that these people always feel its ‘god’ urging them to do this when it could just as easily be Satan or Loki the Mischievous whispering or poking them…

lotta hubris to assume its ‘god’

  10. I am so glad he retired from being a brain surgeon, because I wouldn’t want him to work on my brain with his state of mind.

  11. The big shame is that this guy is a former neurosurgeon and now, this is what he is.

This is what happens when you buy into the BS given to you by the right.

  12. I think he suffers from the “God” complex that seems to afflict so many in the doctor business. Saving lives apparently is the ticket to omnipotence. Trouble is, that’s really all they know how to do, but the reverence paid to them makes them believe they know about everything else, and just because they pronounce that such and such is so, then it must be so. Ask any nurse!

This man has made so many stupid statements, I should think he would be a major embarrassment to the GOP. Oh wait, it’s always good to have the token black in the Presidential race……..

  13. Having had the American medical system thrust upon me, I’ve noticed doctors are more and more ‘specialists’ one trick ponies.
A neurosurgeon who ‘doesn’t do feet.’
An orthopedic surgeon who has to have a neurosurgeon and a podiatry specialist to remove a foot tumor.

Assembly line workers, rather than scholars. Factory medicine.

Very Soviet Union. Not sure it’s very good medicine.

  14. Our newest faux token seems to have forgotten “first do no harm”. Makes me wonder if he still has his license. Sadly he seems to think a unhinged hater might vote for him !!

  15. Reminds me of a couple of songs “Doctor Doctor give me the news you got a bad case of” being a fool. ‘Money thats what i want”. This man should stay in surgery thats what gods finger put on him.

  16. This is why people like this have a voice in society

Richard Hofstadter and America’s New Wave of Anti-Intellectualism

In the 1960s the great historian Richard Hofstadter first identified a virulent strain of anti-intellectualism in American life, but thanks to the Tea Party and the recession, its worst traits are still plaguing us.

  17. Obamacare has never been more unpopular so sorry to tell you many, many people agree with Carson.Despite all the criticism by the low information voters he’s surging in the polls and drawing record crowds everywhere he goes.

  18. Provide proof of any claim you make… … … Just as I thought, facts are not present anywhere in your comment.

  19. Its never been more unpopular with people who are told to say its unpopular. With millions of others, its popular.

  20. Haha..HAHAHA…AHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!
Oh stop, STOP! Ohhh, I’m cryin ‘ with laughter. Record crowds??? Many people agree with him?? God, that’s a good one…tell us another, please.

  21. Proof is in the tax credit. The credit is rewarded as a percentage of income.

White male making $100k a year gets a $6k deduction. Which should easily pay for 100% of his medical expenses. Hooray for free healthcare for rich whites!

Black woman with two kids making 40k a year gets a $2.4k deduction. This will not pay for even half of the healthcare expenses of her family. Hooray for single minority mothers paying for rich white men to have healthcare!

Obamacare pays for rich singles to receive healthcare for free while middle class families cover the cost of it.

This is what Democrats do, they “help” people at the expense of others.

Welfare for the poor. Grants and subsidies for the rich. And the poor stay poor. And the rich get richer.

  22. No, No, Carson is right. If we wanna be Constitutional about it, then clearly the only solution is Single Payer. Thanks Dr. Ben! :))

  23. ROFL Man, today’s trolls don’t even TRY to make stuff up that sounds remotely credible anymore. It’s sad really.

  24. WHO CARES how popular it is? Those opposed to it are wrong. BECAUSE they are wrong they do not matter to me. They can sit down and shut up, or they can keep screaming so we know who to LAUGH AT.
As for Carson, I don’t care how popular his hypocritical ass is.
He’s NOT going to get the nomination so he can whine as much as he wants and draw crowds as big as he can, it won’t matter in the end because he will NOT be given the nomination.

  25. Not sure y I took the time to read this pure hatred but I did so here’s my 2cents: All I just read is an entire article consisting of 2% analysis, 98% hatred using age old tactics of picking any remotely inflammatory remark a party affiliate has ever said to stoke flames of divisiveness. I’m conservative but see valid points reading lib views (not hatred articles, as I just read). I suggest the author pick up a carson book to learn alternative viewpoints before tearing him apart based solely on your mission to divide the country further, Hrafnkell. Unless, that is, you despise reading more than Dr. Carson. (You don’t get through med school without reading my friend, no place to slash him there. And you don’t separate conjoined brains without actual experience operating on a brain. Perhaps the doctor is right about the whole value in real life experience thing?) Bottom line to the author: use your writing skills to unify this country, regardless of affiliation, not divide US.

  26. I do not understand these people who are critical of the healthcare act. Do they want to go back to the way it was before when the insurance companies decided whether you lived or died? When they could deny coverage because of a preexisting condition, drop you for some minor clerical error, charged women more for their coverage, etc? This law is not written in stone; it can be tweaked. He just wanted to get something in place to build on. But the Repubs only want to kill it and it was their idea in the first place. So you have to ask why? Why do they want to kill it? What is their reasoning for that? They have no replacement for it. If they manage to kill it millions of people will once again go without and end up in the emergency rooms. And when they can’t pay who is stuck with the bill—all those with insurance who will pay higher costs. The hospitals certainly won’t absorb the cost.

  27. I agree with ole Ben, a Single Payer program would indeed benefit all Americans. I wonder if hat is what he has in mind.

  28. You Obama loving liberals have no idea what affordable health insurance looks like. Have you even spoken to a family without insurance to find out why they don’t have insurance. It’s not because they couldn’t find affordable coverage, they simply didn’t want to spend the money on it. Now you tout the ACA as the next great entitlement program. The ACA doesn’t provide affordable healthcare coverage, it’s more expensive then what we had. Liberals just can’t admit the truth. If you’re looking for facts, ask someone who’s sat at the kitchen table and tried to convince an uninsured person to give up their daily Starbucks habit or their video game habit to buy affordable health insurance coverage. They won’t do it! Even under the ACA they still won’t buy coverage. At last check there are still 20 million uninsured. You people on the left need to wake up and get a dose of reality.

  29. The truth is you know nothing about the ACA, you make that obvious. Its not an entitlement and its based on your income. Its far far cheaper then getting it on your own.

Why do you come here and make such a fool of yourself? Why do you hate Americans so much?

  30. The ACA has put more than 10 million people on Medicaid and subsidized millions more insurance. What do you call an entitlement program?

    I laugh at your ignorance!

So loving America involves making it a welfare state? 18 trillion in debt and growing. LOL

  31. 18 trillion inn debt due to your wars and tax cuts.

You know nothing of the ACA. Why do you keep proving it? You said it was more expensive and now you say its not.

BTW, you must hate the deficit being cut by 2/3rds

  32. Ben Carson who? Exactly……
Ben Carson is Herman Cains’s replacemet in the Republican clown car of Presidential wannabees for 2016. And He will turn out to be a laughing stock the way Herman Cain was. Ben, here’s a tip: Republicans are NOT going to nominate a Black guy for their standard bearer….stop kidding yourself. Man, you are embarrasing yourself. Look at how your party has and IS treating THIS Black President. What makes YOU think you are better than OBAMA? Not. So, give up your wild quest. Stick to fixing brains…start with yours. Ok?

  33. Just six years ago when President Obama took office, total debt stood at $10.6 trillion, which means it now has increased by almost $8 trillion—roughly 70 percent—during his tenure as president.

It took 200+ years and 43 Presidents to total $10.6 trillion in US debt. President Obama in 6 years has almost doubled that amount.

The Iraqi and Afghanistan wars added $4.8 trillion to the US deficit. President Obama has gotten us out of those two conflicts and has spent $8 trillion plus on what? Not wars but entitlement programs and handouts. What do we have to show for all that spending? NOTHING!

The more you comment the dumber you sound!

  34. this is very interesting. You are trying to tell us that the president spends money.

Again you tell us you know nothing about government alone the affordable care act.

  36. Ben Carson’s Mother took advantage of every government program she could. She had public Assistance, food stamps; she even got her son glasses. Once Ben got his glasses, his school work improved. He is one of those people who have got theirs and say “screw everybody else” So I have not one ounce of respect for this “House Nigger”

  37. If my husband and I did not have healthcare insurance through our employers, we would have to pay $16,000/year for coverage through the ACA. Only in a Democrat’s world is that affordable.

  38. That’s the entire point. You DO have insurance through your employer. And at some point that will be very expensive as well.
At a premium of 1330 per month, lets face it, your income is WAY above other people. Did you expect anything different?

Of course, you could well be lying too. People with low salarys get subsidies. People with huge salarys dont.

  39. @Diane: you have not one ounce of respect for someone who quite literally made a career saving lives and innovating medicine so that thousands more could enjoy the quality of life that you maintain? Interesting. You must be doing wonderful things in your own life to frown upon carson so angrily. I assure you Carson’s patients have a great deal of respect for him. PS: Carson’s mother worked multiple jobs for the exact reason that her family would not be on government programs (Source: Gifted Hands). He “got his” by his own accord of diligence, innovating medicine through publishing hundreds of scientific journal articles, publishing books, and saving and improving the lives of thousands (likely millions by extension of his published medical articles). Sounds like some hard work to accomplish all that, maybe he “earned his”? And maybe he hopes to empower the same community to also “earn theirs” rather than simply be handed theirs, as you seem to recommend.

  40. What is wrong with you people and simple understanding of the facts. The ACA does not apply to you and over 60% of Americans because you have taxpayer subsidize insurance through your employer. If taxpayers did not pick up more than half your tab how much do you think you would pay?

And where did you come up with that 16,000 a year figure?

  41. this is like John McCain. John McCain was an American hero as a prisoner of war. Ben Carson was a doctor and as such probably deserves respect.

But let’s face it, Ben Carson and his rhetoric are that of an insane asylum patient. He tries so hard to be a tea party member that his brain is dribbling out onto the floor. Is it possible that you never really listen to what he has to say? He is simply another Allen West who should not be in public

try listening to what he has to say.if you approve of it or agree with it you should probably seek help

by the way, your rhetoric about things being handed to people is nothing more than a right-wing cliche. You can take that stuff someplace else because it’s garbage

  42. No doubt, Mother Carson deserves tremendous credit, but – in the words of a political sound bite from the last presidential election – she didn’t do it alone. Carson, in his book, tells how his grades improved tremendously when a government program provided him with free eyeglasses because he could barely see. Not only that, in “Gifted Hands” we read this nugget: “By the time I reached ninth grade, mother had made such strides that she received nothing but food stamps. She couldn’t have provided for us and kept up the house without that subsidy.”

Well, isn’t that interesting? Ah, but you see, Carson has an excuse as to why the situation with his mother is completely different from the situations with everyone else currently on welfare:

It’s hard not to see Carson’s own upbringing coming into view here. He grew up in meager surroundings in Detroit and Boston, in a family that made use of public assistance programs like food stamps. The culture was different then, Carson insists. “I think there was a time when people were not proud of taking handouts,” he said. “There were more people who did have that drive and determination. You do what you have to do.”
    http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/04/who-is-dr-ben-carson-105875_Page3.html#.VJhTPtCdB

So you are either lying about what you read or you never read that dime store novel Gifted Hands

  43. You clearly don’t understand the point. Option A) mother Carson works a single job and raises her family on public assistance, thereby also instilling dependence on her children. Option B) mother carson chooses a much more difficult life, working multiple jobs to peel herself and her children away from public assistance, as the quote u pulled suggests, so that she could receive nothing but food stamps. Which did she choose? Ah, this is where you conveniently omitted the portion in which Carson speaks of his mother working 3 jobs at a time to support her family, saving the taxpayer and instilling independence to her children. Did he benefit from public assistance? Of course but he also does not speak against it without speaking on the need to empower the same community to peel away from assistance in the same breath. Lastly, he had a choice to change the world through medicine or not. A decision he made alone, despite how much our president wants to make you believe otherwise.

  44. You are missing the point because either you are stupid or just don’t have the capacity to get out of your hateful fox bubble
Contrary to “Entitlement Society” Rhetoric, Over Nine-Tenths of Entitlement Benefits Go to Elderly, Disabled, or Working Households
    http://www.cbpp.org/cms/?fa=view&id=3677

  45. Shiva, here in Lancaster Ohio there are several people who have Carson in 16 bumper stickers and the vehicles are all high end and the owners are lily white and uptight. I’ve had conversations with a few of them and they are typical of “educated” people who still hold religion and conservative ways dear. But the things they ALL have in common are Whirled Nut Daily, Fox News and “think tanks” of conservative agenda’s. In other words these “educated” people are really complete idiots because their educations are not what you would call intellectual in nature. I told them all that they have completely as a group had their cheese slip of their crackers.

  46. USfirst..First off we do not “hate” the conservative “person(s)” we hate the IGNORANCE!! the ARROGANCE!! and the out and out DENIAL of FACT and TRUTH!! that they claim are American Values!! It’s time to become and American USfirst and not a conservative. When are you going to realize that Conservatism is inherently EVIL in nature, It sucks life out of people at the same time it removes rights and freedoms while claiming that “this is what the American people want”…yeah right!! GET A CLUE!!! USfirst..

  47. This snarky opportunist, a porch black for generous 1% handlers, is wrong, of course, but not for the reasons you suggest. If we really wanted to honor the “general welfare” clause, we would have single payer. And that is precisely what Ben Carson *does* *NOT* *want.* In an age when medical doctors pipe Joel Osteen prosperity gospel speeches into clinics, it is not surprising that Carson, a surgeon, would be so deficient in avoiding logical fallacies. A former V.A. physician told me recently, “Surgeons are the dumbest in our profession.” Nuff said.

  48. @djchefron. Haha you try awfully hard to make yourself sound intelligent with your sources while I think every educated american is fully aware of the scope of government programs. But basically you’re saying momma carson shoulda just worked one job because she was entitled to it anyway as a working household. Makes sense, good call.

  49. I am not saying that at all and you should just stop before I make you out to be the fool you are working hard to be. You like uncle bennie is under the impression that only lazy people who don’t want to work live for welfare because they are not moral or whatever bullshit you come up with to justify transferring the wealth of this country to the very rich.

And what up with this mama Carlson? This aint Gone With the Wind and I doubt she was your wet nurse

  50. She sounds like all the liars fox had on that were proven to be outright lies. They hadnt even gone on the website, just quoted astronomical amounts spewed by fox for the stupid people that dont do research.

Interestingly, most of them quoted $16,000, she must of got her info from those idiots.

  51. Ben Carson’s presidential ambitions are making his party sad

“At some point the party will wake up from its hangover and pick someone they think can actually go through” a general election, said an experienced Republican strategist in Iowa who has worked with mainstream candidates, speaking on the condition of anonymity to candidly discuss party matters.
See that, tea partiers? Even Iowa Republican strategists think your drunken louts are ruining things. Are you going to take that lying down, or are you going to buckle down, take another swig, find someone even crazier to vote for?

  52. There are always those that suffer from myopic vision. Coupled with delusional ranting and what is left is a Tea Party mentality at its best.

  53. It’s people like you who don’t understand.

Take your hypothetical Starbucks uninsured citizen who gets sick, very sick.
They go to the hospital they will get care on OUR DIME.
Thanks to president Ronny in 1986 who signed into law the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, or EMTALA.

Up until 1986, hospitals and doctors could turn people away if they didn’t have the money. So could emergency rooms. As you can imagine, costs were kept down.
In 1986, Republicans passed EMTALA. What did EMTALA do?
****It SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE and made emergency rooms just like police, or firemen, or roads. It said people showing up on a door step of an ER dying *could not be refused* treatment. In 1986, Republicans passed EMTALA.
So healthcare costs SKYROCKETED because EVERYONE WAS PAYING FOR THOSE THAT DID NOT HAVE INSURANCE…
So now with Obamacare, costs are going DOWN, but you sure won’t hear that from Faux Snooze.

  54. This site tracks the current Reagan Bush Debt.
The Reagan-Bush Debt is how much of the national debt of the United States is attributable to the presidencies of Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, and

As of Friday, December 12, 2014 at 12:07:42PM CT,

The Current Reagan Bush Debt is:

    $16,772,844,553,541.00

which means that in a total of 20 years,
these three presidents have led to the creation of

    93.21%

    of the entire national debt

  55. If you don’t have car insurance and have an accident, what will you do, mortgage the house if you have one? You could live without a car.

If you don’t have health insurance and get a catastrophic illness or injury, what will you do, mortgage the house if you have one? YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT YOUR BODY.

You’re just like the other tea bag/repubs, you want the benefits but DO NOT want to pay for it.

  56. no he couldn’t be smart being that he was head of pediatric neurosurgical dept at John Hopkins.
i sure hope he runs and wins.

  57. I know that this UGLY man is trying to ride on The President’s coat tail, but he can’t hold a candle to The President, he is just so yucky to even look at. He’s not smart like our President and he is definitely not as knowledgeable, yuck!!! And he has a nasty looking mouth ugg….

  58. Oh and you are a dirty liar mister. Just like a Repiglet…go somewhere and read something. U and your kind have missed the train, it must really be hard to hold on to that old stale rhetoric, we have moved along and have turned the page. Catch up.. we have graduated…

  59. I suspect this “fingers od god” that these non-Christian Christians are feeling is most likely a single digit located in the middle of the fist and it is being thrust in their faces by their god. Of course THEY see it how they want..God looked at me!!!…or I think there were more fingers but I couldn’t see clearly because of the bright WHITE conservative light shining all around the Lord!!! Or Hey The Lord thy God gave me the Holy Digit! He loves Me!!!

  60. Jimnlexsc, great point, its articles like these that seek to mislead those that are followers. Stalin called them useful idiots, now we know why. They don’t want their readers to know he is leading the polls and crowds gather where ever he appears. Its so sad that he was not our first genuine black president! Even if he does not run or win, he will never be silenced and will continue to say to this country what needs to be said and what needs to be heard.

  61. Dr. Ben Carson is Hallucinating on some self prescribed drug! Does he think that the rabid Racist wing of the Republican Party is going to support him, much less nominate him is a fool’s dream. If he is not delussional, then he is naive and brainwashed.. Poor thing. Tsk, Tsk. President Ben Carson? No, I don’t think so.

  62. Right now the establishment is trying to figure out a way to stop him from running. When batshit Iowa don’t want you that should tell you something

  63. As a very liberal, atheist, humanist, and feminist ( because equal pay and control over my own body that should never be legislated) in the south, I could not agree more!!<3

  64. As a liberal former health insurance agent, I can say that your post is intellectually dishonest. (I was an excellent producer, trainer, and assistant sales manager for my former MGA before I gave birth to a austic child.I made the difficult choice to leave my career I loved I was able to improve the lives of my clients to tend the needs of mychild) it is not more expensive now (I still have friends in the field). People want insurance are happy to pay premiums. The hard part is after the application clears underwriting and having to tell a family that one or more of their family cant be covered or has lifetime riders because of preexisting conditions. the ACA covers everything.Perhaps the best part of the ACA it gets rid of horrible schedule of benefits plans. this is personal responsibility. In the richest country no one should go bankrupt or die do to lack of coverage. Single payer will happen until then the ACA is the best thing for the country. <3

  65. I am always amused by people like you. You fail to see or worse flat out ignore corporate welfare up to and including many are paying no taxes, shipping jobs overseas as a way to exploit low paid/ slave wages, and child labor in impoverished countries that do not by and large providing safe work environments. It is things like that which has many countries looking at the US as corrupt, and in many cases evil. <3

  66. You are very helpful!! I am enjoying the links! You also exhibit outstanding character. In the face of so many fallacies and outright BS that is being posted! Bravo you are a fresh breath of logic and reason not often seen it comments! <3
