Homeland Security Warns Right Wing Extremists Are An Equal Or Greater Threat Than ISIS

The Department of Homeland Security is warning that right-wing extremists are an equal or in some cases greater threat to America than ISIS.

CNN reported:

A new intelligence assessment, circulated by the Department of Homeland Security this month and reviewed by CNN, focuses on the domestic terror threat from right-wing sovereign citizen extremists and comes as the Obama administration holds a White House conference to focus efforts to fight violent extremism.

Some federal and local law enforcement groups view the domestic terror threat from sovereign citizen groups as equal to — and in some cases greater than — the threat from foreign Islamic terror groups, such as ISIS, that garner more public attention.”

The government says these are extremists who believe that they can ignore laws and that their individual rights are under attack in routine daily instances such as a traffic stop or being required to obey a court order.

The Southern Poverty Law Center recently released a report which found that 75% of domestic terror incidents were carried out by lone wolf extremists. Mark Potok, SPLC senior fellow and editor of the report said, “Our study clearly shows the urgent need for federal agencies to reinvigorate their work studying and analyzing the radical right. And it’s important to recognize the trend away from organized groups committing acts of domestic terror. As Timothy McVeigh demonstrated with the Oklahoma City bombing, lone wolves and small cells of domestic terrorists can create massive carnage.”

Potok added, “The lone wolf’s chief asset is that no one else knows of his violent plans, which makes them exceedingly difficult to disrupt. It is imperative that authorities, including those gathering at the White House next week, take this threat seriously. Anything less would be an invitation to disaster.”

The danger from jihadists abroad is real, but it is the homegrown right-wing radical who has taken anti-government rhetoric preached on Fox News and talk radio to heart. Those on the right who really believe that they are above the law pose a threat to everyone else.

An attack by right wing radicals is either carried out or foiled every 34 days, but domestic terror doesn’t remind people of 9/11, so most Americans ignore the threat. ISIS gets all of the attention, but the lone wolf right-wing extremist is a threat that is already on the attack.

  1. It’s about time someone said something. So many of us have known this for years. The extreme right wing is mortally dangerous and highly mentally ill. The paranoia alone is blood-chilling. You can read it here occasionally and on other sites like TheBlaze and that Breitbard nutso website.

It’s time for the Republican party to denounce these nutjobs. It’s time for Fox to admit their complicity and stop their fear-mongering.

And all of this is done for the $$$. Shameful all around.

  2. This has been true since the 1990s, waning in anti-government fury 2001-2009 while turning on human beings they hated. But the upsurge is real, dangerous, and potentially disastrous, and all the whining by the Right doesn’t make it untrue or a ‘political’ thing to pursue. It is real. It is anti=American. It is deadly.

    BRAVO Homeland Security. Bravo!

  3. One understands. We are sympathetic! But I hate to tell you, he’s the LEAST of it all. I track this stuff and know many of the vile and despicable people involved, most of whom never heard of him but follow web sites and handbills (they are kind of low tech folks) that would curl your hair and turn nausea to outright vomiting.

  4. Today Billo said that David Corn is in the kill zone

Yesterday he said Tiller the baby Killer

When will he be going to GITMO?

  5. Thanks homeland security for keeping a “eye” on these RW extremists.
Question, why does the right ignore these extremists and pretend they do not exist? Are they members of militia groups themselves?
The south and Midwest are breeding these type of people! DHS should send a look out for this memo with a phone number to report suspecious individuals or groups.

  6. Maybe that’s why Boehner and his cronies are threatening to keep funds from Homeland Security. Homeland may expose more than they want to be known. Thank goodness people are wakening up.

  7. The answer to your question is YES. If the 1% that controls the G.O.P did not bring in the Tea bags, old Dixiecrat racist,Bible pounders they would not be able to stay in any kind of power.

  8. Attention should be paid to what the “sovereigns” are saying, and they should be taken at their word.

  9. Thank you for an excellent article. I’m glad that the term right wing extremist is being used instead of a vague term that does not identify the proper group. I’m greatly encouraged that Homeland Security has identified the issue and providing direction to resolve this problem. I would like to see Fox News cancelled like it was in Canada, if for no other reason than because it is an instigator of hatred and violence. A public nuisance.

  10. Fox News is a terrorist network in my opinion. It promotes right wing propaganda, encourages violence against minorities, gays and women. Billo just advocated for someone to take out David Corn like he did with Dr. Tillman.

If we had a real media they would call them out but instead the corporate media cowers to them in fear.

  11. I don’t think gang members have an interest in politics at all & could care less about political parties. I can’t picture them watching ANY news shows or serious programming.
Plus, their anger is directed toward individuals or other gangs–not toward politicians or “the government.”
Trying to compare gang members to terrorists is rather lame.

  12. Gang members are comprised of diverse peoples, i.e., African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Native-Americans & Asian-Americans.

If we could only tap into these vibrant groups and harness the energy thereof, there is no telling what might be accomplished.

  13. Can’t we just give them jobs? Maybe we can give these rascals EBT cards so they will contribute to the economy. We need to understand them to see why they are so angry. Can’t we just give them hugs? Can’t we all just get along?

  14. I think gang members have no interest in politics at all & they couldn’t care less about political parties. I can’t picture them watching ANY news shows or serious programming.
Plus, their anger is directed toward individuals or other gangs–not toward politicians or “the government.”
Trying to compare gang members to terrorists is rather lame.

  15. You know what we need? We need a right winger as President so he can fundamentally change America. We need his wife to tell the children what to eat at school. We need a right winger who goes to a church where the pastor says “God Bless America.” Maybe we could have a President who has great ideas for health care. Maybe we can have a President who openly says he loves America. Wouldn’t that be great to have such a President?

  16. DHS is the love child of dick Cheney and Micheal Chertoff.

It is a bureaucratic abomination that guarantees failure and threatens democracy.

De-funding it will throw hundreds of fear-mongering terror ‘experts’ off the government teat and slow the flow of military weapons to local police.

  17. There is more to a terrorist then just political motivation. A terrorist is one who causes terror or fear.

you may not know this but there are some areas in the country you can not walk down if you are a certain ethnic group, of if you are wearing the wrong colors. or if you do not live in that neighborhood.

Gangs use fear and terror to control the areas they live in. 2000 people a year die because of gangs. Many are just on the wrong side of the street, or talking to the wrong person, or because they are not the right skin color. People fear stepping out of their houses because they could be the next victims, accidental or intentional.

But even though there are roughly 30,000 known gangs, 800,000 members, 88% are of the democratic voting demographic. And why would they want to hurt that?

  18. you may not know this but there are some areas in the country you can not walk down if you are a certain ethnic group,
Yes, its called gated communities of the rich. Try again kochsucker

  19. There are a lot of suspicious people sneaking across the border from Mexico. And many of them have criminal convictions for violent crimes, sexual assaults, and child molestation. And DHS doesn’t know where they are. Would you be a good citizen and be on the lookout for these suspicious characters?

  20. Boehner isn’t trying to keep the funds from DHS. The funding for DHS is before the Senate now. All the Democrats have to do is vote for it and it can be sent to President Obama for his veto. It’s that simple.

  21. Ha. That’s pretty funny. Sorry, those are called “anarchists,” not “republicans.” I know it might be hard for some to see the differences from behind your rose-coloured glasses, but Republicans don’t like big government, anarchists HATE ALL forms of government. Those guys aren’t right-wing, they’re just nut-jobs. IMHO. :)

  22. That is almost the dumbest comment I have seen you write DJ. But when things don’t work the way you want, name calling always works wonders.

  23. If you say so. I was just pointing out your racism. You want to point out where people cant go I give you Trayvon Martin

  24. The federal government dropped the ball when they allowed the right wingers at the Bundy ranch to aim guns at federal agents and get away with it. And to still allow Bundy to graze his cattle for free. Why had he not been arrested? Why have they done nothing about these outlaws?

  25. The reason is because the local law enforcement is largely supportive of Bundy. The Feds had nobody covering their backs.

  26. Wishful thinking on your part, wouldn’t you say?

The President will not sign the HS bill in its current form. If The Senate wants to clean it up and give it back to the house to sign then it will be clean and the President will sign it and all will be well, otherwise forget abou’ it.

  27. I don’t envy your job, Churchlady! I’ve read a few of those nutcases’ posts on certain sites where they actually can’t get away with a lot, and BOY, are they scary.

  28. Recall that this nation was founded by dissenters who rebelled against their oppressors.

It would be wise to reread the Declaration of Independence before impugning the character of all constitutionalists and libertarians.

  29. Right-wingers really are slithering snakes, aren’t they, Dave? And you would know.

Every person with more than half a working brain knows that Boehner and the Koch-bought Teapublicans in the House are holding DHS funding hostage and jeopardizing the safety of Americans in order to usurp the Executive’s power on immigration. They are attempting to violate the U.S. Constitution by disrespecting the separation of powers and the office of the president.

But President Obama isn’t a patsy and he isn’t going to be bowled over. He’s outsmarted Republicans over and over again, and it just irks ya’ll, don’t it?

  30. LOOOOOOONG overdue.

The best disinfectant is sunlight. Expose these racists and anti-American Neo-Confederates for the low-IQ vermin that they are, and crack down hard on their supporters.

These Right-wing Neanderthals need to be in the spotlight where they can’t hide, and they need to be made ashamed for their bigotry, hatred, idiocy and complete lack of patriotism for these United States.

  31. Republicans have become the Neo-Confederates of the Old South. They pledge NO allegiance to the United States, and they are traitors to this country and to the ideals of our Founding Fathers and all they stood for – in addition to being a subspecies of the human race.

Republicans are the most DEvolved humans in the world – and sadly they’re proud of it.

  32. PoliticusUSA doesn’t pretend to be anything other than “Real Liberal Politics” as stated in the logo at the top of the page. Can you say the same about most right-wing media outlets?

    “Fair and Balanced” my ass.

  33. Says the party pledged to “shrink government enough to drown in the bathtub”. And also shut down the dept of Homeland Security, so they could put us at maximum risk. Why do they hate America?

  34. You need to quit while you are behind. The House is not holding the DHS funding bill hostage. It is scheduled for a vote next week in the Senate.

I can understand your fear of snakes. They destroy rats.

  35. We need to let these sovereign citizens know who’s the boss. Let’s bring back slavery and segregation. Let’s put a ban on all abortions in the Constitution. Let’s end the right to vote for women. By golly, we’ll show these sovereigns the error of their ways!

  36. You’re confused Fred. The 1% that controls the GOP hates the Tea Party and religious conservatives as much as the Democrats do. And both McConnell and Boehner have publicly criticized the Tea Party and have supported the campaigns of politicians who ran against Tea Party members.

Now if we’re going to talk about the money in politics, let’s talk about Soros and San Francisco billionaire Tom Steyer. They are part of the 1% you detest so much.

  37. There are many times when what they need is prosecuting. Letting their attack on other people’s personhood and on the sovereignty of the government of the United States of America has to be punished under any and all applicable laws. When you think of armed citizens threatening the lives of federal officers on a legitimate issue at Bundy’s ranch it tells you just how dangerous these right wing freaks are to our nation.

  38. In January there were 266 jihad attacks in the name of islam, 3998 people killed in the name of islam, 2261 injured in the name of islam. That is 1 month. 1 single month.
Since 9/11 there have been over 25,000 terrorist attacks in the name of islam.
And the Christian right is just as bad? Granted most of the jihad attacks were in the middle east, but does that make them any less of a terrorist attack?

  39. The right wing would be dangerous if they weren’t so stupid. They’re always out there waving the Constitution around like it’s some kind of legal foundation. They go around ranting about the Bill of Rights. Right to keep and bear arms, blah, blah, blah. All the while they’re protecting free speech we’re using it to take away their other constitutionally protected rights. What a bunch of maroons.

  40. I think you, are a member of the far far right. You fail to mention the 899.000.000 pledged by the Kocks to take over the Gov. this exceeds by far any from Soros or anyone else. All of it dark money, not reportable, nor traceable.

  41. Once again Dave, you fail to acknowledge the poison pill included in that bill. That is why there is a hold up. The Dems want a clean bill…

  42. Must really suck for all you Leftys that lost Congress and the Senate by 20%. You have only begun to cry as we dismantle your precious Obamacare and your Illegal aliens. You are a sad bunch and it is going to get much worse for all of you in the next 2 years. My advice to you is to let the butthurt flow through you dont hold it in because all of the mass murders are committed by Lefty Progressives. Let the butthurt out!

  43. The tea party was founded, and is supported, by the Koch Brothers, just as the John Birch Society was founded by Papa Koch!

  44. Sure is a lot of rightys on the site this A.M. Looks like an invasion. The word must have gotten out of how much truth is revealed.

  45. Well, it’s about time that the truth of the homegrown terrorists came out! Been saying this for years. These are the dissatisfied, afraid of anything and everything. They are not “conservatives”, but are authoritarians, a threat to our nation and our way of life. See what they have been doing to us since Ronald Reagan, who embraced the right with open arms.

    Suggested read:
“Conservatives Without Conscience” by John W. Dean.

  46. TO DAVE who commented that Giuliani was right about President Obama.

The President’s grandfather fought in WWII. He was part of the Normandy Invasion.

Rudy Giuliani’s father, Harold, was a felon, sentenced to Sing Sing Prison in upstate NY for his crimes. This is only the the beginning of his father’s “career” against the Law – there’s more after he was released from Sing Sing.

  47. Frankly I don’t see that your boys are going to be able to do much damage for the next two years, they can’t get their heads out of their asses long enough to agree on anything, and this President (and the next one, who will also not be one of your boys) holds veto power over the petulant children in Congress. That, and the R’s have much more at risk in 2016, and the D’s turn out en masse in a Presidential election year, so you are actually the one who should take your own advice. Go back to whatever chicken coop you’re getting your information from, you have nothing to offer.

  48. If President Obama loved America, he would sign the bill. More proof that Giuliani was right.

Boehner and the anti-America Teapublicans in the House put the poison pill of usurping the powers of the Executive in with the DHS funding bill. So if Boehner and the Teapublicans loved this country -and they clearly don’t – the House would pass a clean DHS bill. Anyone who condones his attempt to usurp the Constitution and the separation of powers is a traitor to these United States. THAT’S why McConnell isn’t bring the bill to a vote and that’s why President Obama will veto it if he tries.

I know this might be too nuanced for your brain to understand but, there it is.

Oh, and anyone who agrees with Guiliani’s racist remarks is a racist him/herself.

  49. These are historical and documented FACTS that xenophobic racist Republican voters don’t want to hear or read about.

Yep. Harold Giuliani served time for ARMED ROBBERY while President Obama’s grandfather fought in WWII. After that, Harold Giuliani became an “enforcer” for his loan-sharking BiL and did some violent stuff to people who couldn’t pay.

Rudy’s first cousin, Lewis D’Avanzo carried out murders as part of a quarter-billion dollar car theft operation under the Luchese family crime ring. In 1977, D’Avanzo was shot to death by an FBI agent when attempting to run him over with his car.

Giuliani’s daughter, Caroline, was arrested for shoplifting.

Crime seems to come naturally to that family. That’s probably the reason why they’re Republicans.

  50. Specious reasoning doesn’t fly well on this site, and your statement is as specious as it is ludicrous – one might as easily say, and with greater credence, that all the House Reps have to do is vote on a clean DHS funding bill instead of attempting to poison every proposed piece of legislation they send to the Senate, wasting time and our tax dollars (which you R’s pretend to be so fond of preserving) in their zealous campaign of disrespect and discourtesy for this President and the office he holds.

  51. The DHS report relies strongly on the SPLC’s definition of a “hate group,” yet the SPLC doesn’t even have a solid definition of “hate group” and provides no information about its self-designated “hate groups” that a researcher can vet or verify. It’s all hearsay.

In 2008, Mark Potok told NPR that “lone wolves” were far more likely to commit violent crimes than “hate groups” yet every year he continues to designate new “hate groups” for his “Hate Map” fundraising tool.

“Hate group” is merely Potok’s highly lucrative marketing brand.

In 2005, DHS funded a new think-tank called START, out of the U. of Maryland, to the tune of $12 million dollars.

START creates reports for the DHS based entirely on the SPLC’s faulty data and the DHS funding keeps rolling in.

The SPLC cites the START reports in its fundraising materials and the donor dollars keep rolling in.

The affair is so incestuous it needs a banjo soundtrack.

  52. DJ, doesn’t it appear that someone must have gotten their welfare check from the Kock’s and can now afford to troll this site, making facetious comments and voting “no way” in an attempt to agitate? I believe in allowing the opposite opinions to be displayed, but some of these are deliberate agitators, with no valid opinion to offer – oh yeah, that’s right, damn near no R has anything valid to offer…….

  53. Not in a million years! We have way too much of right-wing ignorance already. Gives me chills just thinking about it.

Will you NEVER understand that we figure how you live your personal life is your business. You radical righties think our personal lives are somehow YOUR business too.

You have no idea what REALLY loving America and ALL its citizens is all about. Sorry, but you hypocrites gag me.

  54. OK, and how many school shootings have there been in this country since Sandy Hook? Right wing extremists/ white supremacists/ white uber-nationalists/faux patriots subsidized by the Kock’s, and politically protected by the NRA and their cabal in Congress. And not a word from the pious xtians who hold AR-15 raffles at their places of worship to fund-raise. Yeah, I notice the Muslims in this country doing that all the time.

  55. You need to quit while you are behind.

    I’m a Liberal. I’m always ahead of lizard-brained Republicans.

The House is not holding the DHS funding bill hostage. It is scheduled for a vote next week in the Senate.

And if it’s not a clean bill, it will FAIL. Republicans will have NO CHOICE other than to pass a clean DHS bill for President Obama to sign or put the American people at risk. Unlike you, they’re at least smart enough to know that:

“They should go ahead and pass a clean DHS bill,” Alfonso Aguilar, who headed the Office of Citizenship under President George W. Bush, said Friday. “Congress is controlled by Republicans [and] the reality is that if they don’t pass the budget, people will blame the Republicans.

“They’ve had enough time to vent,” added Aguilar. “It’s now time to lead.”

I can understand your fear of snakes. They destroy rats.

    I’m not a Republican. I don’t live in fear.

  56. Buckeye, right-wing Christians are worse. They seriously want to force the US into being a theocracy with the Old Testament laws in Leviticus replacing the Constitution. This is called Christian Reconstructionism. The governor here in Indiana supports this crap. Google it and see for yourself.

  57. Recall also that those dissenters were LIBERALS not Conservatives. Our first president, George Washington, clearly states he was a Liberal:

As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality.” — George Washington

    Don’t let your head explode.

  58. 15, from the date of Sandy Hook to june of 2014 there were 15 sandy hook style shootings. If you count all the times a weapon was discharged in or near a school the number is 74.
A year and a half to get to 74. Islam does that in 1 week.

  59. You are so right – why not stress out our economy more. You know handout more EBT cards to useless jerks who refuse to work because obama will pay for their gas; or to illegal aliens who rob and rape, and in a lot of cases murder. They brought back the Whooping Cough (pertussis) and the Measles. Hundreds of cases of measles and at last count five babies dead.

Spare me your uneducated rhetoric. You do not know a right wing person. How about going out and finding one and listen, just listen. I’ve done that with my liberal friends, I love them; they are entitled to their opinion, and I do not insult them. They know where I stand as well. It’s called Freedom of speech, freedom of religion (not from), and I am free to have my beliefs. If you find those who feel the same and insult them, you are only showing your ignorance. You want to hug them then get off your arse and have a decent debate with no insults.

  60. People seem to forget that it was extremism that formed this nation. Our founding fathers were trying to escape the very same tyranny that now exists in America. It is getting to the point where if you don’t like getting pulled over and harassed on your way to work, or you don’t enjoy paying excessive taxes on an already meager salary, you will be labeled a “terror-threat” or called trite, juvenile terms such as a “liberal.” I wish there was a new land to sail to today but there isn’t. Most of the young people in my generation choose not to get involved with political name-calling and squabbling, but I will not be surprised when “democrats” and “republicans” alike have to answer for a very bitter end to this power struggle. Gone are the days of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness it seems.

  61. Right-Winger as PRESIDENT?

    *sniff* Heeeee…

    Oh, THAT was FUNNY…

    I needed a good laugh.

    Seriously, though…No thanks.

    We’re Full-up on Right-Wing stupid as it STANDS…and we don’t want/need anymore.

Besides, these guys can’t find their @$$es with both hands, a flashlight and a road map NOW…

Almost ALL of them (GOP/TP) are currently afflicted with varying degrees of a new disease called Palinitis. (NASTY thing…kills your conscience, patriotism and civility…and ALSO removes your ability to speak English coherently and without hate or fear.) I don’t think ANY intelligent person (Independents/Democrats) REALLY wants ANY of these mindless GOP/TP droolers NEAR the Oval office.

George W. Bush and Dick Cheney cured the MAJORITY of us (who voted) of the need for stupid in the Oval Office, anyway.

But…Thanks again for the laugh! [WINK]

  62. Dave: I am for deporting all persons who are in this country illegally. Can you say the same?

Really, Dave? In order to deport 11 million undocumented people, it would cost the U.S. $285 BILLION dollars. Who will PAY FOR THAT? That’s right. The American taxpayer, because you can bet your tricorn hat it won’t be your masters, the Koch Bros who can easily afford it.

Spending $285 billion would require $922 in new taxes for every man, woman, and child in this country. If this kind of money were raised, it could provide every public and private school student from prekindergarten to the 12th grade an extra $5,100 for their education.

Are you willing to have the U.S. Gov’t raise $922 dollars a year of NEW taxes on you and yours in order to satisfy your racism and xenophobia? Are these low-IQ mental afflictions you people suffer really worth that cost to you, your S.O., and your children?

    Changes things, huh?

  63. Dave…the Koch Bros alone spent twice as much as the top TEN unions combined in 2012 – and still lost, no thanks to you and your anti-American ilk.

    Top 10 Unions combined: $153,473,251

Koch Bros alone: $412,670,666 (that 666 number there is so apropos)

Koch Bros have pledged to spend $899 MILLION dollars on Republicans in 2016.

Unless you’re a 1%er yourself, you are nothing but a useful fool to them, Dave.

  64. Worse than isis? Really?
I am a Catholic and I don’t remember the pope telling me to kill the infidels. I don’t recall the pope calling for a holy war. I know the teachings I receive is to love one another, to be compassionate, to be giving and to love. No matter the others religion, or way of life. It is up to God to judge you not me.
Isis wants you dead. Isis wants your way of life dead. Isis wants you to either conform or be a second class citizen. You are not even a human according to islam.
Also anyone who wishes that the law of the land be what was in the old testament they are not Christian. That was the whole deal with the new testament. A new covenant with god. The old was done away with. That is the reason we don’t have animal sacrifices in church anymore. So to deny the new testament is to deny Jesus and that is definitely not Christian.

  65. One small problem with this article, it’s a total fabrication.

The Department Of Homeland Security has issued no such “warning.”

The writer has clumsily conflated left-wing propaganda with general warnings issued by the Department of Homeland Security.

This writer should be ashamed of himself for printing this huge lie.

  66. I agree 100% with what you’ve said. Isn’t this another form of profiling? How often are we urged against anti-Islamic rhetoric, yet this is somehow different? What types of doors does this open? Should we now be concerned that what articles we read, what we post, to whom we financially contribute or for whom we vote etc. will put another target on us? It’s just setting a scary precedent IMHO.
On a side note, I’ve read a lot of the comments in this thread and find many of those in favor of this to have some pretty hateful words for fellow humans with different political views. It’s a sad representation of their community.

  67. Seriously, morons? [Snipped for dirtiness and irrelevancy]

Editors note: you want to debate, use a civil tone and traceable cites.

  68. Colonists rebelled because the King and Parliament allowed a corporation – the East India Trading company – to abuse British subject’s rights and protections.

The Constitution they wrote placed the rule of Law over any rights that ‘Lords’ and ‘Kings’ might control.

Opinions and beliefs were shunned in favor of written Rights and protections.

The constant struggle in America has been to prevent the rise of a ‘ruling’ class.

Especially one that claims a Divine Right to dictate to others.

  69. You know these groups have so much hate. it would be great instead of sending good men over to fight ISIS they all should be round up and sent to ISIS. since they cry of keeping America Safe……. This one thing I feel the government can do… Our law offices should not have to live in fear for trying to keep just the residents safe…. We have ISIS in our backyard. Thanks to greed. Now we have our own who cannot see the difference….. What a slam.

  70. Please show me all the “extreme right wing” killers that you claim to be afraid of and their causality numbers? If not them stop spreading lies about any one!!!!!

  71. Tim, so those gangs also includes the KKK and SKIN HEADS as well…. you open this up… the glass house just broke. The KKK is a terrorist group who has terrorize blacks and Jews for centuries. now they have many others ethnics they can pick on. I am sure they feel they are in hog heaven, and our GOVERNMENT FOR many years have fail to dismal them. This my dear is one of the right wingers as well. They kill by will. They too feel they are above the law.

  72. “the sovereignty of the government of the United States of America” Maggie, HAVE YOU EVER READ THE ENTIRE US CONSTITUTION?

  73. There have been over 100 right wing domestic terror attacks on US soil since 2008, and barely a peep from anyone in the corporate MSM about it (“liberal” media my ass). http://csgv.org/issues/guns-democracy-freedo/insurrectionism-timeline/

What did people think was going to happen when disinformation, lies, propaganda, and blatant fear/hate mongering has been pelting the airwaves since then?

There are still irate buffoons out there that think President Obama is a communisocialmuslimist who was born in Kenya. That’s all due to deliberate right wing lies, and it has caused this wave of terrorism.

  74. The problem with the Old Testament is that it’s usually attached to the New Testament, is referred to often, and is used even by politicians to justify discriminatory legislation. Regardless of what the New Testament is supposed to be, the Old Testament has not gone away.

And while Isis may be more violent in larger numbers than domestic Right-wing extremists, domestic extremists pose a greater threat because they act here, and have the desire and requisite political influence to impose sharia-type laws on everyone, one piece of legislation at a time.

When that kind of erosional legislation is blocked, extremists are more likely to act violently. The threat is real, and it comes from believers in books written by either radicals or fundamentalists, epitomized by the likes of Ayn Rand or Old Testament “prophets.”

When I hear a Bible-toting Christian admit that atheists are the penultimate example of what it means to be a Christian, I’ll accept Christianity as being inherent…

  75. Mona Charen chronicled the phenomenon in her superb 2003 book “Useful Idiots,” which recalls example after jaw-dropping example of American liberal left wing extremist defending, flattering, and excusing the crimes of one Communist ruler and regime after another. Fidel Castro, Ho Chi Minh, Mao Zedong, the Khmer Rouge, Leonid Brezhnev, Kim Il Sung, the Sandinistas: Over and over the pattern is repeated, from the dawn of the Bolshevik Revolution to the collapse of the Iron Curtain and now the actions of ISIS when stating that if they only had jobs they would not be terrorists — and it just goes on and on. There is much more to fear from leftist then then you would ever find coming from a Pro –Constitutionalist, proponent of Life, Liberty, and pursuit of all things that brings Happiness to the human experience. Communism evolved from left-wing extremism. The threat from left-wing extremists did not die with the collapse of the Soviet Union.

  76. your name says it all! moose the duped!
left wing nut! can’t make a comment with
out the FOX news pmsnbc propaganda? dope!

  77. They can’t defund homeland security it would have to be dismantled and done away with. The bill before the Senate does fund Dhs’ it just isn’t funding Obama’s immigation.

  78. Hmmm. Just another way to shut people up.
Political correctness hasn’t worked. Now, it’s terrorism, to speak out against those who would pervert the Constitution.
Let’s see. I want a smaller, more efficient, government, less taxes, self respect, and personal, responsibility.
I wonder, what is wrong, with that?
    But, to a fascist. I’m a threat.
I believe in God and am a legal gun owner. Unfortunately, my guns, don’t kill people. Contrary, to liberal beliefs.

  79. The left have to lie to get their point across or to make laws to take more rights away from the common people. Remember “You can keep you’re insurance if you like it” for one.

  80. At leest yu kin reed an spel gud. Seriously, pick up a Warriner’s English Grammar. It only hurts for a little while.

  81. Dumbass the insurance companies always change your policies. Just say you are racist asshole and be done with it

  82. the article fails to mention one of the greatest threats to freedom in America which is the uber militarized police forces patrolling our streets and police departments that do not hire individuals that are ‘too smart’…. they don’t want officers that think, they only want police that blindly OBEY orders

  83. the tea party should be viewed as a enemy of the usa and thus tea party and tea party elected lawmakers should be viewed as a terrorist org and locked up in prison

  84. What a load of horse$hite. All this time I thought it was global warming that was the big threat.
The DHS and The president are the biggest threats to this country.

    III% Spanky

  85. It may be true that he said that, But nothing he says is true. Have another glass of koolaid.

    III% Spanky

  86. “Homeland Security Warns Right Wing Extremists Are An Equal Or Greater Threat Than ISIS”

Yes, we knew that already: http://csgv.org/issues/guns-democracy-freedo/insurrectionism-timeline/

…but it’s nice of them to warn us officially:)

So when will they be arresting the Koch brothers? (snark alert). Merely instigating events I suppose falls under “free speech”: https://www.irehr.org/issue-areas/tea-party-nationalism/tea-party-news-and-analysis/item/553-bundy-standoff

  87. If there was a republican in the white house and there were groups of liberals that are actively trying to undermine the president and actively fighting against the government and actively and openly anti-government, THAT administration would have already raided these groups, guns blazing. And that goes DOUBLE if the groups are made up of minority groups such as blacks and hispanics.

These are grassroots terrorists. Period. Find them, take the cowards’ gun collections, throw them in jail if there is evidence that they are anti-government.

So hilarious that these are MOSTLY people from red states that take MORE from the government thanthey ever pay into. Ironic, right?

“Edgy militia anti-Obama members ready to stand up and fight but openly wondering where this week’s food stamps are and when their check is going to come in.”

    Perfect headline.

And as these people are tried, TRY THEM AS TERRORISTS AND TRAITORS if the evidence supports it.

  88. Roflmbo. Name one “right wing” attack since 2000. NONE! Notice attempt by the ignorant SPLC to run some propaganda. Yet they never present examples. People like YOU are the true DANGER to America. You would love to see the Freedom or speech and Freedom from Religion to be ended. You sit by while children are indoctrinated in Islamofasscism. but let Christianity mention in a classroom and you start foaming at the mouth. Your problem is that Americans are waking up to the dangers to their freedom that Democrats and the regressive pigs present to the citizens.
