Bernie Sanders Rolls While Demonstrating How To Knock Down Fox News

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) rolled through all of Bill O’Reilly’s attempts to split the left while knocking down Fox News’s attempts to use him for propaganda purposes.

Sen. Sanders didn’t bat an eye when Bill O’Reilly began the interview by trying various techniques to get him to say something negative about Hillary Clinton. Sanders was aggressive and seized the interview from O’Reilly. He forced Bill-O to pivot away from his usual blustering attacks and towards a friendly softer tone. Sanders even got O’Reilly to admit that the top dog on Fox News agrees with him on some issues like money in politics.

What really stuck out was Sanders’s ability to shift O’Reilly and the interview anywhere he wanted it to go. It is rare that a guest on O’Reilly show is more aggressive than the host, but the senator from Vermont was aggressive without being combative. The segment never turned into a scream fest. In fact, Sanders handled Bill O’Reilly fairly easily by keeping the tone civil and not falling for the loaded questions that the Fox News host was leading trying to lead him with.

Bernie Sanders was able to successfully take apart Fox News by weeding through the bias that most of the questions were based on. Sanders took on the Fox News and showed them what a strong liberal looks and sounds like. O’Reilly could rely on his gimmick of being the voice for the “folks,” because he confronted with an authentic voice that works tirelessly for ordinary Americans.

The lesson for any member of the left who appears on Fox News is that it is important to be aggressive while not taking the questions at face value. The political motivation for Sanders to appear on Fox News is that he is trying to rally grassroots support on all sides for his potential presidential campaign.

Bernie Sanders wasn’t going to be used to divide the left ahead of 2016. In fact, it was O’Reilly who ended up bending to the iron will of the liberal champion.

  1. Mr. Sanders is a truly hard working & classy citizen, that understands the burdens of the common people and is willing to speak up against those horrid “representatives-of-corporations” at Capitol Hill.

    Thank you!

  2. I would think at least *some* of the Fox viewers of sick & tired of the constant negativity after years of inciting anger in the masses.

Good for Senator Sanders for taking the interview away from O’Reilly & demonstrating how to conduct a softer, slightly objective interview. The GOP has been bashing & lying about the Democrats & President Obama for so long they only know how to behave like sociopaths.

  3. Bill probably doesn’t have a clue that Teddy Roosevelt was a PROGRESSIVE REPUBLICAN and so was Eisenhower for that matter.

Bernie is a CLASS ACT and frightened Bill with his exceptional knowledge.

  4. I really don’t understand what’s your problem with Iran. Iran is in comparison to Saudi-Arabia a paradise of freedom and women equality. Israel has the bomb, an extremely instable and dangerous Pakistan has it, India and Russia the US, that means most neighbours and foes of Iran have it. So why shoudn’t Iran get it? (The last 1’000 years Iran has not started a war…). Iran fights ISIS and Al quaeda. Why on earth (the answer lies below earth) would the US support a stone age regime like Saudi Arabia which supports Al qaeda and all muslim extremists? And fight against a moderate country? Let’s hope Obama is able to go the same path as with Cuba, where this ridiculous boycott seems to come to an end.

  5. I saw a very good exchange between Bill and Bernie, but now where did Bernie overpower Bill and to his credit Bernie did not make any stupid remarks as he normally does. I am not an O’Reilly fan.

  6. Bernie startled O’really by reminding him that at some
point in our country’s history decent patriotic ethical
Republicans actually existed. Teddy Roosevelt created
the national parks to preserve and protect our natural
resources instead of wanting to exploit them for profit.
He is the only president that ever was awarded the Con-
gressional medal of honor and there isn’t a single repug
corporate slave politician in Washington today worthy of
sharing his legacy. Kudos to Sanders and hopefully we’ll
be reading the killing of Fox news real soon.

  7. Senator Sanders was at his best here I felt.

Bill O’Reilly was full of shite here, he knows damn well it’s going to take a member of the one percent to rein in their power.

FDR was a prime example of this scenario back during The Great Depression. Bill O’Reilly knows the GOP aren’t going to do one thing to rein in the wealthy speculators.

O’Reily was trying to split the center left down the middle to weaken us, and Bernie was much too smart to fall into Billy boys trap.

  8. Iran has threaten to wipe the Jewish State , Israel off the map, is one of the major human rights violators in the world, it’s leaders have denied that Jews were killed in WW2, when asked about homosexuals a number of years ago it’s leader said we don’t have that phenomenon in my country. You want them to have the bomb huh?

  9. Khamenei: US invented nuclear Myth; Iran will Never Invade another Country

The clerical leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, gave a speech on Sunday in which he urged that Iran maintain its military readiness in order to fend off any hostile invasion or attack. But, he said, “Iran has never invaded a country and never will.” He also called US charges that Iran is seeking a nuclear weapon a “myth” and “propaganda.”

Whatever else is wrong with the Islamic Republic of Iran, you have to admit that it is refreshing for a country’s leader to make such a pledge. No American politician could even run for election on such a platform, of “no conventional military attack on another country.” American politicians are always talking about keeping all options open or ‘on the table’, by which they mean that Washington might at any moment take it into its head suddenly to go to aggressive war against another country, even though that country had not attacked the US. The illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003 was only the most recent and dramatic such attack.
