The U.S. Government’s Department of Health Finally Admits That Marijuana Kills Cancer

WhiteHouse-MedicalMarijuanaResearch

Throughout history the main reasons human beings willfully kill other human beings are religion and greed. Although it is surprising that people steeped in a religion that worships a “loving god” revels in killing other humans, it is part of the “convert or kill” mindset that one the major Abrahamic religions, Christianity thrives and prospers on. It is not as surprising that human beings kill others out of greed, but for an industry that claims it exists to “save lives and heal infirmity,” it is astonishing that the pursuit of profit drives their pursuit of death and sickness. For the medical industrial complex, there is nothing as terrifying as a cure, or remedy, for a highly profitable and fatal disease like cancer.

It is little surprise that for a couple of decades at the direction of the multi-national pharmaceutical industry, and more recently the for-profit prison and law enforcement industry, the federal government and National Institutes of Health (NIH) have concealed a highly effective and completely natural remedy and relief for cancer. In just the past two weeks, the federal government and NIH have quietly confirmed that cannabis (marijuana) is very effective at killing cancer cells without harming healthy cells like radiation and chemotherapy. In fact, on the NIH website devoted to the hideous disease, Cancer.gov, they published the truth about marijuana and its effectiveness at combatting cancer in a stunning reversal of over four decades of deliberate fear-mongering and propaganda portraying the common weed as dangerous; all to satisfy the greed of the pharmaceutical industry, prison system, and law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal level.

What is even more encouraging is that although the NIH has known for a long time, with mountains of empirical evidence, that the compounds in marijuana, cannabinoids (delta-9 THC and cannabidiol [CBD]), are effective at killing cancer cells, they have discovered how it happens. After preaching since the 1970s that marijuana had absolutely no medicinal effect or value for human beings, and putting the weed in the same classification as heroin, the Department of Health’s National Cancer Institute is now “advising that cannabinoids are useful in treating cancer and its side effects by smoking, eating it in a baked product, drinking herbal teas, or even spraying it under the tongue.”  The U.S. Department of Health also made a partial list of other highly-beneficial medicinal uses of marijuana such as reducing anti-inflammatory activity, blocking cancerous cell growth,  relieving muscle spasms in multiple sclerosis sufferers, as an effective anti-viral agent, an anti-bacterial and preventing the growth of blood vessels that supply tumors.

Some of the other NIH studies have shown that cannabinoids reduce the risk of colon cancer, and are effective in its treatment. One study revealed that delta-9-THC killed or damaged hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), and killed cancer molecules in “non-small cell lung and breast cancer cells.” One specific study of cannabidiol (CBD) in estrogen receptors showed “it caused cancer cell death while having no effect on normal, healthy breast cells.” Even in advanced cancer stages where it was not diagnosed early, when given as a supplement with chemotherapy, CBD and THC greatly enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy as well as restoring appetite and relieving nausea.

Obviously with cancer as a major killer of Americans, its treatment is big business and even bigger money for the pharmaceutical industry and “treatment centers.” As many people have rightly suspected for years, the cure for cancer, or even a more effective and less-stressful treatment regimen, has been held hostage by powerful entities just so the pharmaceutical and hospital industry can continue to raking in hundreds-of-billions of dollars a year to “fight the disease” with radiation, pills, and numerous and endless surgical procedures. For example, on its own, the National Cancer Institute has taken in and spent over $90 billion allegedly trying to find a cure for cancer. The abomination is that the organization knew all along that a profuse amount of well-documented scientific studies proved that a 3,000 year-old “medicinal weed” any American could grow in their garden was effectively killing cancer cells, shrinking malignant tumors, and relieving the effects of the disease. Cannabis is also proven to reduce opioid (painkiller) usage by an average of 47% that drug companies could not allow to become common knowledge. It is likely why the reports that the NIH, Health Department, and National Cancer Center began advising of the weed’s benefits was only in British media, but not America.

There was hardly any reporting in June that President Obama eased restrictions on further and more comprehensive cannabis research by eliminating a major roadblock to open up substantial research on the weed’s medical value when it removed “additional review” of the Public Health Service (PHS). The last thing the law enforcement and highly-profitable prison industry wanted was for marijuana’s medicinal value to become public knowledge and face public pressure to decriminalize the weed. There is too much money in incarcerating Americans for using a weed for recreation that may also relieve a plethora of infirmities. As much as the pharmaceutical industrial complex wants to continue getting extremely rich off of slowly killing cancer patients with ineffective and expensive treatments, the law enforcement industry thrives on the continued criminalization of a common weed.

What is appalling really, especially for those who have witnessed or experienced firsthand the horrible suffering of cancer patients, is that there have been several scientific studies over the past twenty years, at least, that produced empirical data proving the effectiveness of cannabinoids in killing cancer. Still, because there is huge money in perpetuating the disease with ineffective drugs, fraudulent treatment centers, and manufacturing radiological machines it took until this past April for the United States government’s National Institute on Drug Abuse to revise their publications and admit the many, many benefits of cannabis for medicinal use.

It is likely that every American in this country has known, or lost, a loved one to the horrid disease and it is absolutely despicable, and frankly evil, that the medical industry helped keep an incredibly inexpensive and highly-effective cancer-killing drug out of reach. It is unclear who in government is responsible for helping conceal the now-proven medicinal benefits of weed, or who in government revealed that for at least a decade the National Institutes of Health and Department of Health have known that instead of being a “dangerous drug” like heroin, marijuana kills cancer cells and dog forbid may put a smile on a cancer patient’s face. Marijuana may not be a miracle drug, but with every new revelation that it does so much more than make a user hungry, tired or laugh it is easy to comprehend why every American is not growing and benefitting from its incredible health benefits; keeping it illegal is making the pharmaceutical industrial complex and prison industry incredibly rich while people are suffering and dying.

  1. One of the scientific studies into the effectiveness of cannabis on cancer cells was conducted in Spain on the same kind of brain cancer that Jimmy Carter was recently diagnosed with. They discovered that the mechanism by which cannabis destroys cancer cells is so miraculous as to be evidence that the cannabis planet possesses a symbiotic relationship with humans.

Basically, in layman’s terms, the cannabinoids destroy cancer cells in two ways. The first way is to reprogram cancer cells, which are actually normal cells whose own Programmed Cell Death (PCD or scientifically, apoptosis) has been shut off by invasive cancer cells. Those cancer cells are reprogrammed to die all at once, however this poses a significant problem in that the body is suddenly exposed to all the toxicity released by the dying cancer cells. Well, the cannabinoids ALSO shield surrounding cells, protecting them from a bombardment of toxins.

The other thing that happens with cancer cells is that they (more)

  2. (continued) program the body to deliver extra blood to the cancer tumor by re-routing bloodflow and creating new capillaries to feed itself. The CBD then cuts off this blood supply ensuring that the cancer cells die off. Scientists have also found out that regular consumption of cannabis PREVENTS cancer from ever developing in the body.

So in essence, one can see that cannabinoids are actually DESIGNED to fight cancer in the human body. Not only this, but they also fight disease by restricting inflammation in the body’s organs.

There is a lot of research going on in Europe where governments are less restrictive of cannabis research, yet there is still much to learn. It seems that our own government is finally going to allow scientific research here, and maybe finally we’ll get some rational discourse about what the myriad of medical benefits cannabis provides. Of course the pharmaceutical companies have been blocking this research for decades because they know it works.

  3. and the gov. fascists wont tell you, under clinical studies, LSD, and MDMA, help cure and treat, PTSD, alcoholism, and other serious issues. but no, better living with opiates.

  4. Why not reveal the government’s biggest WMD lie of all
time? End cannabis prohibition now. Free the oppressed,
create jobs, cease wasting resourses on a failed policy,
and save lives with one simple act. We talk about how
climate change is denied, yet the number one cash crop
in our country’s ecomony is a forbidden plant. WTF?
Chant down Babylon mi yutes. Bless up.

  5. It angers me that there is a huge portion of humans that are so selfish that they would prefer monetary compensation than a precious life of a human being. Sadly, it is true that throughout world history, human tribes have killed to gain power, supremacy of the region, wealth, etc. So many people have this mentality that if they don’t get cancer, why should they help. We must show empathy, understanding, and love to those who are suffering from this horrendous disease. I’ve seen children and adults that have cancer and it tears me apart that I wish I had magical powers to cure them. Politics is part of serving the public’s well being. How can these politicians not have a heart to help the lives of precious human beings. I’m not sure how many centuries we have left in this world, but as the world is so fudged up, we must have more humans who can love, respect, show concern, and have a more positive attitude towards the mystery that we call “life.” No to Hatefulness, Yes to Love.

  6. Did you know:
“Francis Crick told a fellow scientist that he often used small doses of LSD then an experimental drug used in psychotherapy to boost his Powers of Thought.
He said it was LSD, that helped him to unravel the structure of DNA, the discovery that won him the Nobel Prize”.

“More than half a century ago, author Aldous Huxley titled his book on his experience with hallucinogens The Doors of Perception, borrowing a phrase from a 1790 William Blake poem (which, yes, also lent Jim Morrison’s Band its moniker)”.

    Blake wrote:

If the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things through narrow chinks of his cavern”.

I predict: Legalizing Cannabis will inspire even more breakthroughs!

If it could possibly tone-down Conservative-Hatred…I’d be very happy!

  7. The U.S. Government’s Department of Health Finally Admits That Marijuana Kills Cancer

I think we finally went to the moon! Dinosaurs are finally going extinct! Now, can marijuana cure misogyny? That would be a real miracle.

  8. is this site a reliable ofiicial site? If so should the authority give more information on how to use marijuana as a medical dose.

  9. So, ya think that the National Cancer Institute at cancer.gov is … what?? A group of stoners?

Whew. Yes, you probably shouldn’t believe them because they’re all “sciency” and whatnot.

Far better to believe Chris Christie and the Republicans. They’re all good Americans who don’t fall for any of that educated stuff.

  10. ‘In Europe’. Not very helpful. But if you look at Israeli research, that’s helpful. I couldn’t get a link, the site was apparently running maintenance, but NoCamels.com is a hub for Israeli innovation. Search cannabis, you’ll be amazed at the amount of research. They’ve even developed illness specific strains of pot already.

  11. Green tea does not cure cancer. It has some anti oxidants and flavonoids that may have some health benefits, but you might as well say your lucky rabbits foot cures cancer. Or wishful thinking…

  12. Alcohol is far more dangerous than Marijuana, but the rich would rather ruin lives to make money. It has always been evil to profit off of other people’s suffering. I hope that someday soon people rise up against the greedy bastards.

  13. I’m not surprised greed is involved. Look how much money the Kochs are pouring in to deny human responibility in climate change. Human lives are nothing if they can make a few more billion.

  14. check out Jack Herrers book The Emperor Wears No Clothes. It is footnoted to a very high degree. in my humble opinion it try’s to set the record straight about cannabis. Hemp used to be the biggest crop in the world and the USA. Hemp was relegalized during WW II because the nasty oil based fibers were too hard to come by. This plant could change the world again if we could stop all the disinformation from opponents. I’ve known it is an anti cancer agent for years but I have always loved the weed. Legalize it!

  15. at least you will not have to worry about overdose or any harm from using cannabis. I certainly do not know dosage requirements until the science guys do their thing. I would be happy to do any testing required though. I know all smoke is harmful to the airway but there are many completely safe routes of administration.

  16. I always watch the local and national news on TV.
This is mostly for laughs as they typical spout daily bullshit.
However, I will watch to see if this is addressed anywhere.
This truly is good news for real human beings.
To continue to deny this in the face(literally) of a little kid with cancer and see what it does to them is butchery and nothing less than felony child abuse.
And, THAT’S just what they are doing to kids.
    THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS!!
That tells you the sorts of monsters are the pharma co’s and the FOR PROFIT prison and law enforcement agencies in America.

This reminds me, today is garbage day. I need to put mine out for pick up.

  17. I went to the cancer.gov website and failed to find the reference they are talking about. Did anyone else find the source of this article?

  18. Maybe someone with more credibility can write an article on this cannabis topic. I’ve read about the power and effectiveness of pure, high THC cannabis oil to kill cancer and treat other ailments when made and taken right. It’s even offered by some physicians to cancer patients as an alternative treatment, at great expense, and, of course, not covered by insurance. I do question whether using pot in other ways and forms is a good thing, especially since these days it is likely laced with all kinds of other chemicals before it gets to users, from what I understand.

  19. If we know this stuff can cure this horrible cancer disease, then it should be available to all patients immediately. that does not mean 2 congress sessions from now, it means now. not only that, those who have been blocking it all these years for their monetary gain should be in the prison system. The list includes congressmen lobbies and anyone who forked over monies to benefit big pharma and keep this cure from being reclassified!!!!!

  20. There is something singularly foul and despicable about covering up marijuana’s effects on cancer — letting people die horribly, or milking them for money just to fatten the pockets of corporations or ‘medical providers’. I sincerely hope there is a hell, so that all these bastards can end up there.

  21. It is not “laced” with “chemicals” the way other drugs are laced. What do you think, people are sprinkling chemicals onto pot plants? What would the point of that be?

No, the worst you’ll find are pesticides that are no worse than what you’ll find on vegetables. Of course you can always find organic strains that don’t use pesticides.

Also look up Dr. Manuel Guzman, he’s the doctor in Spain that has made breakthroughs in cancer treatment with cannabis.

  22. Weed is the new ‘Satan.’ The authorities will cheerfully kill you, torture you and imprison you to fight the invisible ‘enemy.’

It keeps them in power. time to defund the DEA – aka the Inquisition.

  23. They knew this for a long time. Big Pharm controls the battle and helped put in the laws that have Americans in for profit prisons due to the ‘drug war’ that they created. This MUST stop! Parents should be able to use this to treat their children with cancer! A ‘no brainer’.

  24. Who’s responsible for keeping this useful medical treatment from the public? It is none other than the Congress and White House.

Not one congressperson or the White House or any presidential candidate will say anything about removing THC from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).

This past Wednesday, at a Democratic club meeting, Congressman John Yarmuth spoke. My question to him was: “Will you introduce legislation to remove THC from the CSA? If not, why not?”

He did not answer my question. He hemmed and hawed around about contracting the DEA. I sent him a follow-up email for an answer. My reasons were that no company is going to risk millions of dollars building a cannabis processing facility, and then the federal government come swooping in destroying all things hemp from a presidential candidate like Romney.

Please contact your federally elected officials and send this URL along with your email.

  25. Move to Colorado, you can buy it or grow your own. You can also get medical Marijuana prescritions. Many familes with ill children have relocated to CO in order to get their children treatment.

There are many commercial growers trying to separate different aspects of the plant in order to help ill people. I see it as a very good thing.

  26. It doesn’t surprise me either, it reminds me of the clean energy industry, just think where we’d be if the powers that control such things hadn’t killed the movement back in the 70’s, pfft, taking the solar panels off the whitehouse. Big industry buying up new technology in order to kill it or sit on it.

Except stiffling medical marijuana research and allowing ill people to suffer and die and users go to prison all in the name of money is far worse. Shameful!

  27. The study:

    http://cannabis-med.org/index.php?tpl=faq&red=faqlist&id=274&lng=en

    The cancer.gov relevant posting:

    Antitumor activity

Studies in mice and rats have shown that cannabinoids may inhibit tumor growth by causing cell death, blocking cell growth, and blocking the development of blood vessels needed by tumors to grow. Laboratory and animal studies have shown that cannabinoids may be able to kill cancer cells while protecting normal cells.
A study in mice showed that cannabinoids may protect against inflammation of the colon and may have potential in reducing the risk of colon cancer, and possibly in its treatment.
A laboratory study of delta-9-THC in hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) cells showed that it damaged or killed the cancer cells. The same study of delta-9-THC in mouse models of liver cancer showed that it had antitumor effects. Delta-9-THC has been shown to cause these effects by acting on molecules that may also be found in non-small cell lung canc…

  28. I think any time NIH and any reasonable government agency takes the time to utterly confirm the positive and negative impacts of ANYTHING, it is good.

The headline implying NIH has been hiding results is too woo woo science denying for me not to be disgusted by it.

How many recalls did we have after people DIED from earlier FDA and other agencies? It is to the credit of today’s gov’t health scientists that they would want unassailable, clear evidence.

To carry on, under this administration, the assertion that “they don’t want you to know” (fill in the blank) when they are trying to keep us safe FINALLY is really not worthy of liberal minds at all.

  29. My only response is that while the Pharma community wants to keep secret the healing power of cannabis, what possible incentive is there for cancer patients to keep this a secret? Is the author suggesting that they are being ‘shut down’ and can’t tell anybody? Strange….

  30. I call BS on this story. I’ve known pot smokers who’ve died of cancer. Bob Marley died of brain cancer, which seems to be one of the more prevalent cancers pot smokers develope.

  31. Why the entirely irrelevant bashing on Christianity??

    1. Some Christians support marijuana usage (I’m one) and would support you had you not needlessly slammed them.

    2. Not all Christians are the same. Your statement “it is surprising that people steeped in a religion that worships a “loving god” revels in killing other humans, it is part of the “convert or kill” mindset… Christianity thrives and prospers on” is bigoted. Not all Christians are the same. If you made this same blanket statement about all Jews or all Muslims, you would be justly banned. Apparently you think bigoted misrepresentation of persons of faith is acceptable – but only if they are Christians.

Yet, your tirade against all Christians says nothing about your main point: that the Federal government has finally admitted some of the healing properties of cannabis. This, of course, is perfectly true. Why, then, do you insist on irrationally and abusively alienating people who would otherwise support…

  32. Interesting. Two of my comments were deleted. This site is obviously notfriendly to open discussion. Like most liberal venues, tolerance is preached, but not practiced.

  33. “Although it is surprising that people steeped in a religion that worships a “loving god” revels in killing other humans, it is part of the “convert or kill” mindset that one the major Abrahamic religions, Christianity thrives and prospers on.”

This is an odd slap to deliver at the beginning of the article, particularly when it is another Abrahamic religion – not Christianity – that is currently engaging in a real war on non-believers, “convert or kill” (or enslave), every day on this planet, in horrifying numbers. Why not name that Abrahamic religion instead? Why bring in a name at all? We aren’t stupid. We know people kill in the names of their gods. People in LOTS of religions kill in the names of their gods. Why single out that one in particular?

You have not strengthened your argument. The argument could easily have stopped with, people kill from greed (for resources, women, land, power and even honor/status) and for religion.

  34. “Dope will get you through times of no cancer
better than cancer will get you through times of no dope”
    — paraphrasing Fearless Frank of the Fabulous Furry Freak Bros.

  35. Because Marley smoked his marijuana, and I’d be willing to bet the medicinal form isn’t smoked. It’s probably an oil or something that has to be ingested.

  36. C is right….CO and CA are both ahead of the rest of the country (not sure about WA)…Marijuana has close to 100 active ingredients and creating the THC 95+% concentration in the extraction process from the BUD is key to supplying the oil that will be effective with cancer, and other, patients. The administration method is key as well. State legalization has put standards on the grow process [ie) pesticide elimination etc.) and we are now working on accurate ingredient/concentration measuring and labeling. This is very different than recreational “weed” that many of us smoked in college….like Bob Marley. Yes, people that smoke pot die of cancer. This is something totally different. Using the currently suggested protocol requires min. of 3 months of the proper oil, and basically puts you to sleep 24/7. MUCH better than Chemo/radiation, for sure. AND, there are types of cancer that do not respond to C/R anyway. Stick to the facts, as they update daily….not speculation.

  37. I was waiting for that question and frankly, I don’t have an answer and would love to hear from someone who does.

  38. Medical cannabis can be consumed by smoking dried bud, vaporizing, eating extracts, taking capsules or using oral sprays. It doesn’t matter how it’s ingested. It works the same at killing cancer cells. The only thing it changes is how the compounds enter the body.

  39. The first paragraph also got this article banned from Facebook because they say it is “abusive.” I would strongly recommend the author rewrite the article with less religious contempt (even though I agree with it) to achieve a wider audience. No other news agency is reporting this story, yet.

  40. I tied to post this article on my Facebook page and was prevented because it said that this information has been tagged as abusive. Could it be the pharmacological industrial complex or the prison industrial complex?

  41. This is the message that was posted when I tried to share this article on Facebook.

Warning: This Message Contains Blocked Content: Your message couldn’t be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive.

  42. Author of this article is a great example of why we are so polarized in this country right now. He/she took good information, discovered during scientific investigation and used it as a prop to attack other people. For the record, personal use marijuana in my home state (New York) has been decriminalized for well over three decades. If your caught with it, its a violation, like a traffic ticket and not only do you not go to prison for it, you CAN’T go to prison for it. Our prisons are loaded with people who commit crimes and also happen to use drugs. That’s different than saying our prisons are filled because of people being arrested for smoking pot. If conservatives and liberals could stop lying all the time we probably could make some real advances in this country.

  43. Can you please supply a specific URL at cancer.gov? I have searched and can only find info saying cannabis / cannabinoids can be effect against symptoms caused by cancer treatments, as well as a reference to a California study showing a lower incidence of bladder cancer amongst pot smokers.

  44. Anecdotal, not scientific. I was diagnosed with extremely low grade prostate cancer two years ago in Colorado. Smoked a lot of MMJ in CO. Prostate biopsy in FL this year came back negative – no cancer found.

  45. My Story .
As a natural born skeptic, I spent countless time and energy researching all the available treatment options aside from what my oncologist recommended. I was DETERMINED to cure my cancer, and knew there was something out there after witnessing a number of people who not only survived, but thrived and went on to live fulfilling lives cancer-free. In addition to reading about Rick Simpson Oil, and watching the Run From the Cure video, I also spoke with people who had actually used the oil, and it was shocking to hear one after another how effective this medicine really was. I just couldn’t believe there was a cure out there and how wrong it was that this information is not

I can make a paper available that is well over 1200 pages filled with links to these resources. (approx 25000 kb) contact me at watersotr at yahoo dot com and I will send it to u as attachments.

  48. It isn’t a cure by smoking although smoking does prevent certain disease. You have to have oil with a certain concentration.. and a lot of it I believe.
