Even though the Planned Parenthood videos have been proven to be edited fakes, House Republicans are moving forward with a vote to defund the organization.

The Hill reported:

House Republican leaders are planning a vote to freeze funding for Planned Parenthood this fall, according to GOP aides, a move that could help mitigate an inter-party battle and avoid a government shutdown.

“We’re encouraged to know there will be a vote this fall, whether it’s our bill or something that is similar,” a spokesman for Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) said Friday.

A bill to defund Planned Parenthood is expected to come up for a vote shortly after lawmakers return from recess, aides said. It would likely take the form of legislation from Black which would block federal funding to Planned Parenthood for one year, although leaders are still weighing their options.

Speaker of the House John Boehner is trying to avoid a government shutdown by allowing House Republicans to vote on a bill that would defund Planned Parenthood, even though the videos that are the basis for the vote have been proven to be edited fakes.

Republicans are still going to vote to take away access to a vital healthcare resource from millions of Americans even though an expert analysis of the videos found that they were not authentic, “Fusion GPS analysts reviewed all four of the “full footage” videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, totaling more than 12 hours of tape. This analysis did not reveal widespread evidence of substantive video manipulation, but we did identify cuts, skips, missing tape, and changes in camera angle. A forensic video expert, Grant Fredericks, reviewed segments of tape identified as suspicious during this preliminary review. This professional analysis revealed that the full footage videos contained numerous intentional post-production edits.”

Boehner and his House Republicans have a long record of disgraceful behavior since taking the majority, but allowing a vote on a bill that is based on videos that have been proven to have been edited and manipulated is the worst thing that this Republican majority has done.

Anyone who votes to defund Planned Parenthood based on the videos is incapable of accepting reality, and should not be holding public office.

House Republicans are about to hit a new low, and it is time for the American people to rise up and stop their ideologically driven insanity.

They most be living on another planet if they think that eliminating PP will get rid of abortions. If they had their way, we would return to a time when poor, desperate women underwent dangerous, life-threatening self-induced or back-alley abortions that killed many women and maimed others for life. It’s obvious that they are deliberately ignoring all the non-abortion services that many poor men and women otherwise would not be able to afford. That’s because their main agenda is to set women’s reproductive rights back with abortion as the pretext, and they consider these folks acceptable collateral damage.

  16. I like a group I found on Facebook. It’s the Democratic 2016 Change Campaign. It’s a closed group so you’ll need to request permission. You also won’t have to put up with a bunch of nonsensical trolls that you’ll often find in open groups. There is plenty of info, take what you need and leave the rest. Hope this helps.

Fox ran with it and was left with egg on their faces after finding out they were fake videos. They then went back on Breitbart who had to apologize. The GOP should get swamped with scornful emails if they even attempt to use fraudulent tapes. I’m ready to visit their facebook and twitter accounts along with writing them emails.   19. No, the videos taken at the Planned Parenthood showing the selling of fetal parts were not faked. They were edited, but the fact of the matter is that these creatures were selling baby body parts. And before you people jump on me, keep in mind that nearly 50% of liberals are against abortion. Also, before you start yapping about how the unborn child is not able to live independently, so it’s all right to kill him or her, human children are not able to live independently until they reach their teens. If you plunk a 5 year old down on his or her own and tell them to live independently, they would all die fairly quickly, either from dehydration, hunger, or hypothermia. If it’s all right to kill unborn babies, then it’s okay to kill children up to the age of 12 or 13, when they can live on their own.

Don’t kid yourself – just about every journalist or reporter that ever lived included statements out of context to make things look how they want them to look (it’s also a lot faster than including entire transcribed paragraphs). If they deny this, they are just not being honest with themselves. All political parties (in every country) do this, just about every day. All of the statements made in these videos were statements made by the people in the videos. How can anyone defend these comments?
