Senate Democrats Crush GOP War March By Delivering Iran Deal Victory To Obama

President Obama only needed one more Senator on his side for the Iran deal and it would be locked up. Wednesday morning, he got that pledge.

Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) is the 34th pledge of support in the Senate for the Iran deal, thereby handing President Obama a huge win in the Senate against Republicans who have gone full court press to stop the deal.

The AP reported via Yahoo News:

“No deal is perfect, especially one negotiated with the Iranian regime,” Mikulski said in a statement. She called the accord “the best option available to block Iran from having a nuclear bomb. For these reasons, I will vote in favor of this deal.”

Mikulski’s vote gives Democrats the ability to sustain a potential veto if Republicans in Congress pass the resolution of disapproval. Meanwhile, Leader Nancy Pelosi is piling up the Democratic support in the House, making that scenario less likely than Republicans hoped.

This is a huge foreign policy victory for President Obama and his administration, but it’s also a win for the world.
