Sarah Palin Accuses Obama of Prematurely Interjecting Himself as the Cool Savior

Sarah Palin took to Facebook on September 18 to join her daughter Bristol in attacking President Obama’s invitation of 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed to the White House. Mohamed, you will remember, built a clock to impress his teachers and got arrested instead.

According to Palin, there is actually something more fishy than an unmarried girl *cough* Bristol *cough* twice becoming pregnant while preaching the virtues of abstinence to other unmarried girls and even taking money for doing it. It is unclear whether she is more greatly vexed by a “reactionary-slash-biased” media or with a president who likes to “prematurely…interject himself as the cool savior.”

Bristol had attacked Obama’s White House invitation to Ahmed, writing on Patheos,

This is the kind of stuff Obama needs to STAY out of. This encourages more racial strife that is already going on with the “Black Lives Matter” crowd and encourages victimhood.

If her logic is inscrutable, remember, she is Sarah Palin’s daughter. To me, this is as nonsensical as saying, “This encourages volcanoes to erupt.”

But mother outdid the daughter in a rant of truly epic proportions – if only it can be understood. I admit my own inability to understand any point being made; indeed, if there is any point here besides an unreasoning hatred of President Obama, I have yet to find it.

Read her yourself and see if you can understand, or, like Rachel Maddow, be left eternally confounded by Palinesque prose:

I Guess Muhammad’s Pencil Box is Cooler Than the Palin Kids’

“It doesn’t look like a pencil box to me.” I love Bristol’s perspective on this. You have to read this:

Talk about the dangers of a reactionary-slash-biased media! The first reports on this potential bomb-imitator were so fishy to begin with.

Friends, consider the kids disciplined and/or kicked out of school for bringing squirt guns to school or taking bites out of a pop tart until it resembled (to some politically correct yahoo) a gun. Or the student out deer hunting with his dad early one morning who forgot he had a box of ammo in his truck when he parked in the school’s lot later that day. Kids humiliated and intimidated for innocent actions like those real examples are often marked the rest of their lives and made to feel really rotten. Whereas Ahmed Muhammad, an evidently obstinate-answering student bringing in a homemade “clock” that obviously could be seen by conscientious teachers as a dangerous wired-up bomb-looking contraption (teachers who are told “if you see something, say something!”) gets invited to the White House.

By the way, President Obama’s practice of jumping in cases prematurely to interject himself as the cool savior, wanting so badly to attach himself to the issue-of-the-day, got old years ago. Remember him accusing police officers doing their job as “acting stupid”; claiming if he had a son, he’d look like Trayvon Martin; claiming he needed to know who was a fault in an industrial accident so he’d “know who’s a** to kick”; etc., etc. Those actions are about as presidential as his selfie stick.

Here’s background on Muhammad’s innocent “clock” he brought to school, and his suspicious refusal to answer authorities:

Yep, believing that’s a clock in a school pencil box is like believing Barack Obama is ruling over the most transparent administration in history. Right. That’s a clock, and I’m the Queen of England.

Compare Muhammad’s pencil box to the ones laying around the Palin household:

Notice that 1) Palin insists on misspelling Ahmed Mohamed’s name, and that, 2) she uses Breitbart as a source of background to place her rant in context. Even forgetting for a moment Palin’s typical lack of coherence, this explains a lot.

This might be a good time to interject some John Fugelsang into the conversation as a palette cleanser, not only to clear the air but to place things in perspective. Fugelsang said in a tweet on the same day as Palin’s rant:

I think this applies to attacks on President Obama and 14-year-old boys as well. ‘Nuff said. But sadly, this sort of thinking permeates the right wing echo chamber, as one commenter at GeekWire said “It’s unbelievably sickening that this little monster is getting rewarded for his wrong doing” (because only monsters build clocks I guess) and another claimed that “liberal scum” cheering for Mohamed is like cheering for 9/11.

Similar and worse comments can be found elsewhere. Palin and her daughter helped build that.

In the end, I suspect Palin’s problem is that President Obama IS cool, and she is not, and at some deep level, probably realizes this, without being able to put her feelings to words. But then, as this rant and others demonstrate, Palin can’t put the simplest thought to words.
