Bernie Sanders Warns That The Republican Crazy May Get Worse Without John Boehner Around

sanders-point

Bernie Sanders said that the demise of John Boehner demonstrates how far to the right Republicans have drifted, and the Democratic presidential candidate warned that the right-wing crazy may get worse.

In a statement, Sen. Sanders said, “It appears that even a very conservative speaker like John Boehner is unable to control the extreme right-wing drift of Republicans in the House. This is a party whose ideology is way out of touch with the American people. Without Boehner, it may get even worse.”

Sanders is correct. Things are likely to get worse before they get better when it comes to dealing with the Republicans. If the GOP goes all in on the insanity, Democrats are in for a real challenge.

The Republican Party is so far out of touch with the rest of the country that they were willing to toss Boehner out on his ear because he was not willing to shut down the government in order to provoke a confrontation with President Obama on Planned Parenthood.

Boehner understood the political reality that shutting down the government to defund Planned Parenthood was not going to end well for the Republican Party. Without Boehner to at least try to argue reality to his own caucus, all bets are off for the future.

Some liberals and Democrats are celebrating the demise of Boehner, but the only thing that is certain is that conflict and instability that has been brewing within the Republican Party has now bubbled up to the surface.

Sen. Sanders properly diagnosed the situation. When a very conservative Speaker like John Boehner can’t control the extremists in the House, the stage is being set for the situation to get much worse before it gets better.

  1. “The Republican Party is so far out of touch with the rest of the country that they were willing to toss Boehner out on his ear because he was not willing to shut down the government in order to provoke a confrontation with President Obama on Planned Parenthood.”

Hell, the republican party is out of touch with reality. This could signal the GOP’s final implosion and demise.

  2. The GOP is too crazy and willing to let this country collapse just because they hate President Obama. Hopefully, there could be a coalition of democrats and a few dozen republicans. With this news, a more conservative house speaker means a possibility that they let the the debt ceiling deadline pass with no votes. This basically means the downfall of the country and a worldwide economic depression, which is what I fear so much.

  3. Good!
Let the idiots go bat shit crazy!
Not only will that mean they won’t take the WH next year, they may lose even a standing minority in congress!

  4. Sanders is absolutely right. The GOP just leaped over the edge of the cliff. They have no respect for the rocks at the bottom.

  5. Boehner never tried to control the “crazies.” He embraced them, their ideology; look what it got him: he’s resigning. This is what happens when you don’t stand up to bullies. I don’t feel sorry for Boehner.

  6. Remember the party that met on the night the president was elected, they vowed to block all of his agenda and not co-operate
    with him.
Now they are the party that whine because they cannot get their own way, they are also imploding.

  7. I sure “hope” that President Obama, the CIA, DHS, DOD, FBI, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc., plus the “entire-population” of the U.S.A. have their “EYES” and “EARS” focused (24/7) on “all” of these “TREASONOUS”, “ANTICHRIST” followers and true “perversions” of humanity. Just in case they “might” try some kind of a “PHYSICAL” take over of the U.S…..

  8. The office “holder” of the “Speaker of the House” is actually “NEXT IN LINE” too becoming the President of the U.S.A. “if” something ever “happens” to the President and V.P. aren’t they???

  9. Speaker Boehner was my Congressman from 2002 until 2012 because of gerrymandering. His district includes the rich Northern Cincinnati suburbs and lots of farm country. The job was his as long as he wanted it.
His staffer in Troy OH helped me solve some difficult problems. But then that was her job. She knew I was “yellow dog” and would never vote for Boehner.
It used to irk me no end when I walked into her office and Faux Noise was on. But then I knew why.
I hope whoever replaces Boehner keeps her. She is good at her job plus she is a nice lady.

  10. On the other hand, if they get much crazier there is every possibility they’ll do more to bring out the Democratic voters than anything in the last 30 years.

  11. So Sanders says the Rethugs in the House may get worse without Boehner – or may get better. Thanks Bern, we knew that.

  12. While our two-party system is not perfect, the two major parties have acted as a check/ balance to keep us from moving too far left or right.

Having two major parties has helped to ensure that voices are heard across the spectrum of our diverse, multicultural nation.

So as we watch the tea party parasites destroy the GOP from within, we should take a moment to mourn the disintegration of the GOP.

    And…time [clock stops].

They so need to hurry this along. What we need is to see a better and brighter GOP rising from the ashes of the bat-sh!t crazy mess these MFs have made of it. And we want it sooner rather than later.

  13. If the thought of the tea party crazies taking over and destroying our government isn’t enough to make some Democrats who are hell bent on either writing in a name if their candidate does not win the primary, or sitting the election out entirely..then they can be to blame when our country is totally destroyed, because that is what the TP wants and they will not stop until these jackasses are voted OUT.

  14. Fully agree… I like the way Professor Noam Chomsky getting down to detail about the GOPTP history, voting base as being the “Extremist Evangelical Christians”, that the current Republicans are not political party but the “Radical Insurgency”… this is broad description so it does get you a clearer understanding of the crazies…

Enjoy-this may get you to become an activist for Democracy!?!

  15. I think when the nation is back in sane hands we’ll need to reopen lots of loony-bins so there’ll be somewhere to put all the ex-Repiglican politicians!

  16. Democratinny,

By calling TPs jackasses, you are insulting the donkey. Nevertheless, I agree with you.

I don’t know if the two basTURDS who were instrumental in destroying ACORN were TPs or not. But that is the kind of crap I expect from TPs. Win the election even if you have to browbeat a little to do it.

Voter registration fraud is NOT rampant in this country. But plenty of people have been disenfranchised because of “voter fraud”.

PS The more I know, the more I know I don’t know.

  17. The republican party is basically the confederate party. The Yankees in the party have all be shoved out, leaving the hillbillies and rattlesnake fumblers in charge.

  18. The tea baggers are a very good reason for NOT having gun control. Do you really want to be completely unarmed and defenseless if these loony bags start something. Who was it, Coulter, calling for death squads here to kill ‘liberals’?

  19. Love the article, but please, get a copy editor:

[…] but the only thing that is certain is that conflict and instability that has been brewing within the Republican Party has now bubbled up to the surface.

    Try:

[…] but the only thing that is certain is that THE conflict and instability that HAVE been brewing within the Republican Party HAVE now bubbled up to the surface.

And that’s to say nothing of the numerous run-on sentences disguising themselves as paragraphs.

Seriously, good reporting should not be marred by bad writing.
