As The Phony War on Christmas season is almost upon is, FFF noticed that Fox “News” is also engaged in phony wars on The President; Women; The Democrat [sic] Party; The Supreme Court; Hillary Clinton; The Blacks; The Gays; The First Amendment; Working People; and, as always, the Truth.

KILLING TRUTH: Media Matters for America holds Conservative Media’s collective feet to the fire. Naturally Fox “News” gets the most coverage. Naturally its lyingest loofah liar gets the lion’s share of that. [Say that 5 times fast.] Consequently, O’Reilly Wants Fox Viewers To Help Him Destroy Media Matters. Clearly fed up that his daily letters to the FBI, IRS, FEC, EPA, FCC, and RNC have gone unanswered Bill O’Reilly Tells You How to Take Down Media Matters as Fox’s Varney And O’Reilly Lash Out At “Hate Site” Media Matters.

BURYING TRUTH: Fox News Devastated As Analyst Wayne Simmons Arrested For Lying About CIA Service. It’s not an article from The Onion when multiple headlines say things like Feds arrest Fox News ‘terrorism expert’ for pretending to be a former CIA agent, and Wayne Simmons, Right-Wing Media’s Benghazi Expert, Declared Fraud By Federal Prosecutors, and even Fox News Guest Arrested, Charged With Lying About CIA Ties.

However, here’s What Fox Isn’t Telling You About Their Fraudulent CIA ‘Expert,’ Wayne Simmons:

But here’s what Baier didn’t explain: how did Fox get rooked by this guy and why did they find him credible? Simmons appeared on Fox dozens of times since 2004 as an expert. Besides his phony credentials, Simmons was obviously challenged by reality. In addition to endorsing torture (a plus for Fox News), Simmons wanted “American Taliban” John Walker Lindh executed by firing squad even after the Bush administration dropped terrorism charges against him, claimed there are “at least 19 paramlitary Muslim training facilities in the US… using paramilitary exercises to plan and execute” Charlie Hebdo-type attacks all over the country, and claimed, in 2005, “if the Democrats come into power …we’ll have 911s unabated.”

The answer is clear to me: Fox liked what Simmons was saying and thus never cared to look too hard at his credentials or credibility.

IGNORING TRUTH: Which ~~brain surgeon~~ idiot candidate did Fox “News” defend this week? Late last week Dr. Ben Carson insisted Jews would have won World War Two, if only President Obama hadn’t taken away their guns, or some such wingnuttery.

Not alone among the media that called Carson monumentally ignorant, The Atlantic drops a truth bomb in From Guns to Migrants: Not Everything Is Like the Holocaust:

The claim that the Jews of Europe could have stopped the Nazi Holocaust if only they’d possessed more rifles and pistols is a claim based on almost perfect ignorance of the events of 1933 to 1945. The mass murder of European Jews could proceed only after the Nazis had defeated or seized territory from three of the mightiest aggregations of armed force on earth: the armies of France, Poland, and the Soviet Union. The opponents of the Nazis not only possessed rifles and pistols, but also tanks, aircraft, artillery, modern fortifications, and massed infantry. And yes, Jews bore those weapons too: nearly 200,000 in the Polish armed forces, for example.

From 1941 until the end of the war, armed bands of Jewish partisans roamed through Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe, just as they roam through the imaginations of American gun enthusiasts. That didn’t stop the Holocaust either.

Even before the war started, in the 1930s, Jews sometimes attempted armed resistance to the Nazis. It was the assassination of a German diplomat by a Jewish refugee that provided Adolf Hitler with the pretext for the Kristallnacht pogrom against Jews in 1938.

Despite the fact that Ben Carson [also said]: One Can ‘Guess That We’re Getting Closer’ to End Times, and the fact that Ben Carson [believes]: ‘Nothing I’ve Said Is an Inflammatory Comment,’ All the Media’s Fault, Loofah Lad O’Reilly [said] to Carson: Liberal Media ‘Annoyed’ by You, ‘Trying to Diminish Your Intellect.’

The ridicule over one boneheaded statement after another prompted Mediaite to demand that Ben Carson Should Produce His Long Form Popeyes Receipt.

Yet, Bill O’Reilly Agrees With Ben Carson’s Claim That More Guns Could Have Helped Prevent The Holocaust, as Fox News Sides With Ben Carson: Jews Brought Holocaust On Themselves By Surrendering Guns. It prompted well-known nutty psychiatrist, Fox’s Keith Ablow [to pen]: Holocaust Happened Because Jews Didn’t Fight Back Enough in an opinion piece called Why Ben Carson is right about Jews, the Holocaust and guns. Aside from claiming some of his best friends are Jewish…

“For the record, I have hosted a fundraiser for Dr. Carson, but I was also born a Jew and have studied the Holocaust. And I have spoken before the Anti-Defamation League in the past.”

…Ablow’s using the Holocaust as a subliminal dog whistle to the gun nuts:

The wisest answer to a government that insists its citizens disarm is, “Over my dead body.” It would seem to be the end of any discussion and the beginning of active, heroic resistance. Because it is very hard to imagine that disempowering citizens by having them render themselves defenseless can lead to anything good. It is very likely a sign that the culture has fallen ill and that an epidemic of enslavement of one kind or another is on the horizon.

IT’S FUNNY BECAUSE IT’S TRUTH: It was fun watching Brian Kilmeade whine on Monday that he was portrayed as both fat and stupid. But it was more fun to see him portrayed as fat and stupid when ‘Fox & Friends’ Does Saturday Night Live’s Cold Open:

Kilmeade then asked Bush, “[a]re they right?” Bush responded by declaring that climate change isn’t in “the top ten” greatest threats to the U.S., and that “most people would want to hear” about “serious national security challenges” related to terrorism and foreign policy instead. Co-host Steve Doocy agreed, replying: “You’re probably right.”

But the U.S. Department of Defense, the G7 Council on Foreign Relations, the Center for Naval Analyses Military Advisory Board, and many other military experts agree that climate change a top national security threat. In fact, the Department of Defense’s 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review stated that climate change impacts, such as resource scarcity and severe weather, are “threat multipliers” that will create conditions that can “enable terrorist activity.” That’s one reason why the Pentagon is already preparing for the impacts of climate change.
