Bobby Jindal Defeated As Federal Judge Orders Him To Restore Planned Parenthood Funding

Bobby Jindal has suffered another defeat as a federal judge has ordered him to restore all funding to his state’s Planned Parenthood.

According to The Times-Picayune:

A federal judge has ordered Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration to continue paying Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast’s Medicaid reimbursements for the foreseeable future.

…..

“This ruling is a victory for the 5,200 people in Louisiana who rely on Planned Parenthood for essential health care,” said Melissa Flournoy, Louisiana State Director of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast. “It is offensive that Gov. Jindal continues to play political games with women’s health care — doing everything in his power to ban abortions and eliminate access to care. He cannot drown out the voices of Louisianans who want access to STI testing, birth control, and lifesaving cancer screenings. We are not going anywhere.”

The defunding of Planned Parenthood in Louisiana was another in a long line of political stunts that Bobby Jindal has pulled in an attempt to use the state as a platform for his dead presidential campaign. Jindal wrecked the Louisiana economy with a plan that was designed to appeal to Republican primary voters.

Jindal wasn’t the only governor to lose in federal court. On Wednesday, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley was blocked from defunding Planned Parenthood in his state. The Planned Parenthood “issue” has been a total bust for the GOP. However, this fact won’t stop House Republicans from appointing another special committee to “investigate” Planned Parenthood.

Republicans are trying to use the edited videos to motivate their voters to go out and vote in 2016. The vast majority of the country supports Planned Parenthood and does not want the organization to be defunded.

The Republican Party is losing in federal court. They are losing in the court of public opinion, and they will lose at the ballot box if they continue these baseless attacks on Planned Parenthood.
