Watch Hillary Clinton’s Strong Democratic Debate Opening on National Security Issues

Secretary Hillary Clinton’s strong opening to the Democratic debate in Iowa Saturday evening set the stage for her powerful performance on national security and domestic issues, which led to her winning the debate among Democratic primary voters who were polled.

In her opening, Clinton addressed the Paris attacks, saying our prayers are not enough. Clinton said, “We need to have a resolve that will bring the world together, to root out the kind of radical, jihadist ideology that motivates organizations like ISIS—a barbaric, ruthless, violent, jihadist terrorist group.”

Well, our prayers are with the people of France tonight, but that is not enough.

We need to have a resolve that will bring the world together, to root out the kind of radical, jihadist ideology that motivates organizations like ISIS—a barbaric, ruthless, violent, jihadist terrorist group.

This election is not only about electing a president, it’s also about choosing our next Commander in Chief.

And I will be laying out, in detail, what i think we need to do with our friends and allies—in Europe and elsewhere — to do a better job of coordinating efforts against the scourge of terrorism.

Our country deserves no less, because all of the other issues we want to deal with depend on us being secure and strong.

The next 30 minutes were dominated by Clinton as she deftly discussed in detail the many issues surrounding the ISIS threat and extremist jihadist terrorists in general.
