Active Shooter Has Hostages At Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood Clinic

Black Friday took an especially dark turn around noon in Colorado Springs, Colorado when an active shooter apparently injured several people at a Planned Parenthood clinic, and then exchanged gunfire with police officers on the scene.

At 1 p.m. Mountain Time, the situation had still not been contained. Fox news reported at least one police officer shot, and several people wounded, including two critically wounded, but those reports were still unconfirmed an hour after the incident apparently began.

Ambulances and police vehicles were lined up near an intersection near a Planned Parenthood clinic and Colorado Springs police told people via Twitter to stay away from the “active shooter scene” because it was not secure.

Police said on Twitter that people inside a nearby shopping center were told Friday to shelter in place.

No further details were available on the incident.

At 1:27 p.m. CNN reported that at least four people had been injured, including three police officers.

CNN’s Tom Fuentes is reporting that the active shooter had taken hostages inside the building, so police entered the building.

Local media in Colorado Springs is reporting that four police officers and a number of civilians have been injured in the Planned Parenthood shooting. The very latest is that police officers are still encountering gunfire, so the number of dead or wounded remains unknown.
