The signatories believe Donald J Trump should be banned from UK entry.

The UK has banned entry to many individuals for hate speech. The same principles should apply to everyone who wishes to enter the UK.

If the United Kingdom is to continue applying the ‘unacceptable behaviour’ criteria to those who wish to enter its borders, it must be fairly applied to the rich as well as poor, and the weak as well as powerful.

The petition has received nearly double the amount of signatures needed to trigger a debate in Parliment, and nearly twenty times the number needed to force the government to respond.

There is a precedent for such a ban of American conservative. Right-wing talk radio host Michael Savage is banned from the UK on the same grounds of hate speech but never has the frontrunner for a major political party’s presidential nomination faced a potential ban from entering a country because of his hateful rhetoric.

If Trump were to be elected president, the President Of The United States might not be allowed into the territory of one of America’s oldest and greatest allies.

The message being sent is that Donald Trump isn’t just an embarrassment to the United States, he is viewed by many as a danger to the world.
